This'n'That; August First #2; Lowes

Red Tape Precludes Satisfaction
Lowe's Companies, Inc., (which you might know as  "Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouses") has three stores in the immediate Rochester, N.Y., area:  Henrietta (Rochester-south), Greece (Rochester-west) and Webster (Rochester-east).  As is the norm, anyone who 'goes up against' them has to 'jump-through-hoops!!'  I've had cause to 'go up against' them as an employee, but never as a customer.  This is about a customer, my brother-in-law!
As he is wont to do, 'Benny' was at the Henrietta store one day last week, looking for--and at--plants to buy in their 'Outside Lawn and Garden' area.  Apparently, several plant racks were stuck together and as he attempted to separate them, tore some patchs of skin off his hands and/or arms ('Benny' suffers from psoriasis-severely, in my opinion), causing them to bleed extensively.  Immediately previous to the injury, 'Benny' tried to find a 'red-vest' to help him.  After reporting the incident to the 'Manager-on-Duty (MOD)' he got the usual corporate run-around, with the MOD not taking the blood dripping from his hands/arms as evidence of Lowes' duplicity in the matter; he had to go outside, to the "scene-of-the-crime."
'Benny' and the MOD were on their final trip back to the Customer Service area when my brother-in-law was again injured severly enough to draw blood:  as he walked past an aisle 'end-cap,' 'Benny' was scrapped by a staple sticking out of a display.  This staple was substantial enough to cut through his tee-shirt and inflict a 4-5" laceration along his shoulder!!  Here's the point [.] where 'Benny' EXPLODED!!  I've not witnessed one, but these events are legendary!!
The final blow came when the MOD would not give 'Benny' a copy of the incident/injury report!!  Some days later 'Benny' went up against Lowes' insurance carrier-in this case, "The Hartford."  This is when he found that the MOD had not included the shoulder injury in the incident/injury report; thus, 'Benny' could not get satisfaction from "The Hartford."  The insurance company performed their usual useless-verbiage 'run-around.'  As most of us do over time, 'Benny' became--in his words--"pissed-off" and dropped the matter entirely!!
His advice to me--thus, to you--is:  insist on an ambulance, if not for hospitalization, then to disinfect and bandage the injury (injuries); insist on a police presence to take a report on the incident.  Then--as I understand it--current law will preclude Lowe's dropping the matter; pushing it off on their insurance carrier.
Til Nex'Time....
