With "Clown Prince" obama doing everything in his power--as your exalted ruler--to destroy the jobs markets in the United States, Canadian companies are taking an active role in counteracting his plans. obama has made a big deal in promoting various pipeline segments within the United States; segments that have already been approved; segments he has no power to stop!!
The Canadian oil companies intend to sell their oil to someone and deliver it somewhere. To that end--with obama's Keystone XL Pipeline delays--a pipeline is being built from the Fort McMurray area of the Province of Alberta to a terminis on Canada's west coast, rather than wait until the communists are forced out of American governance. Canada doesn't have the vast population in the hinterlands that the U.S. has.
The 'powers that be' in Canadian capitalism have partnered with the American Veterans of Foreign Wars in providing the human capital that obama refuses to put to work in more than 'make-work' government jobs. The Edmonton Economic Development Corporation--in the aforementioned partnership--is providing an ongoing, daily listing of 55,000 jobs to the VFW jobs website. Does "Clown Prince" obama need any more evidence that--at least in Canada--the private sector is the far better provider of jobs than is the government?!?
Where is Governor Romney on this obama-forced OUTSOURCING of American jobs?!?

Continuing Demonization of 'Big Oil'

Today, members of Congress have a simple choice to make: They can stand with the big oil companies, or they can stand with the American people. Right now, the biggest oil companies are raking in record profits –- profits that go up every time folks pull up into a gas station. But on top of these record profits, oil companies are also getting billions a year -- billions a year in taxpayer subsidies -– a subsidy that they’ve enjoyed year after year for the last century. Think about that. It’s like hitting the American people twice. You’re already paying a premium at the pump right now. And on top of that, Congress, up until this point, has thought it was a good idea to send billions of dollars more in tax dollars to the oil industry. It’s not as if these companies can’t stand on their own. Last year, the three biggest U.S. oil companies took home more than $80 billion in profits. Exxon pocketed nearly $4.7 million every hour. And when the price of oil goes up, prices at the pump go up, and so do these companies’ profits. In fact, one analysis shows that every time gas goes up by a penny, these companies usually pocket another $200 million in quarterly profits. Meanwhile, these companies pay a lower tax rate than most other companies on their investments, partly because we’re giving them billions in tax giveaways every year.
I might have said: (this is being written post-Senate vote!) What the hell kinda ruler can't even get his own party's support? The Senate has voted to let those evil oil companies keep the subsidies that really aren't subsidies. What I disparagingly call 'subsidies' are more correctly defined as tax DEDUCTIONS! They're nothing more-or-less than your mortgage interest deduction or your deduction for a home-office; but on a grander scale. These are completely legal--NOT shameful as I characterize them--written into the tax code, as are said individual tax deductions.
That $4 billion to those evil oil companies in annual tax deductions must be returned to my energy slush-fund!! One the average year, I blow through 15-18 billion dollars, essentially wasted on green technology that--in it's current direction--will never be sustainable! The evil oil companies' aforementioned $4 billion would allow me to fund other supporters and donors and continue to bribe my current supporters and donors.
Is the United States Senate losing it's socialistic frame of mind, or is it just ME? Any other ruler could have gotten this evil oil company tax vote to go their way; I know "Slick-Willie" Clinton would have gotten it done!! This leads me into my regime's 'signature' piece of legislation; owe-bamaKare! I've not been able to exert the influence on my appointees to the Supreme Court that I had hoped. Those socio-fascists--namely, Sotomayor and Kagan--had agreed to vote in the regime's favor should they be confirmed to the empty court seats. That seems to not be the case, likely either the mandate or the entire scam will go-down-in-flames!! The only possibility I had for even a partially positive re-immaculation campaign was owe-bamaKare; alas, that's not to be! With absolutely no publically-accepted accomplishments to run on, it'll be a dismal campaign at best.
Now, I want to make clear, we all know that drilling for oil has to be a key part of our overall energy strategy. We want U.S. oil companies to be doing well. We want them to succeed. That’s why under my administration, we’ve opened up millions of acres of federal lands and waters to oil and gas production. We’ve quadrupled the number of operating oil rigs to a record high. We’ve added enough oil and gas pipeline to circle the Earth and then some. And just yesterday, we announced the next step for potential new oil and gas exploration in the Atlantic. So the fact is, we’re producing more oil right now than we have in eight years, and we’re importing less of it as well. For two years in a row, America has bought less oil from other countries than we produce here at home -– for the first time in over a decade. So American oil is booming. The oil industry is doing just fine. With record profits and rising production, I’m not worried about the big oil companies. With high oil prices around the world, they’ve got more than enough incentive to produce even more oil. That’s why I think it’s time they got by without more help from taxpayers who are already having a tough enough time paying the bills and filling up their gas tank. And I think it’s curious that some folks in Congress, who are the first to belittle investments in new sources of energy, are the ones that are fighting the hardest to maintain these giveaways for the oil companies. Instead of taxpayer giveaways to an industry that’s never been more profitable, we should be using that money to double-down on investments in clean energy technologies that have never been more promising -- investments in wind power and solar power and biofuels; investments in fuel-efficient cars and trucks, and energy-efficient homes and buildings. That’s the future. That’s the only way we're going to break this cycle of high gas prices that happen year after year after year. As the economy is growing, the only time you start seeing lower gas prices is when the economy is doing badly. That’s not the kind of pattern that we want to be in. We want the economy doing well, and people to be able to afford their energy costs. And keep in mind, we can’t just drill our way out of this problem. As I said, oil production here in the United States is doing very well, and it's been doing well even as gas prices are going up. Well, the reason is because we use more than 20 percent of the world’s oil but we only have 2 percent of the world’s known oil reserves. And that means we could drill every drop of American oil tomorrow but we’d still have to buy oil from other countries to make up the difference. We’d still have to depend on other countries to meet our energy needs. And because it’s a world market, the fact that we’re doing more here in the United States doesn’t necessarily help us because even U.S. oil companies they’re selling that oil on a worldwide market. They’re not keeping it just for us. And that means that if there’s rising demand around the world then the prices are going to up.
I might have said: I have opened millions of acres of federal lands and waters to oil and gas exploration. I've just not allowed the Department of Energy to issue and/or approve drilling permits. Those drilling rigs in the federal waters? They're operating on permits wisely approved by that evil President George W. Bush. The pipelines approved had nothing to do with me or the regime; they're intra-state or interstate. The only one that I had any control over, I DISAPPROVED! The "Keystone XL Pipeline" project was the only one to come before the regime that is international; it crosses the U.S.-Canadian border. Disapproval could--as is my desire--result in much of the Canadian oil being sold to the Chinese. Within days of my DISAPPROVAL, the Canadians were in negotiations to redirect the pipeline to the Canadian west coast for shipments to China.

We most certainly can drill our way out of the owe-bamaDepression, but we should have started on Day One of my regime! Had we, the owe-bamaDepression--or at the very least, the worst affects--might have been averted. Even when drilling might solve America's petroleum problems, we still have the EPA to contend with. This group of UNELECTED socio-crats have formulated policies that do not allow for more oil refineries to be built in the United States. This continues an already choking bottle-neck in the production and processing end of the industry. One direct result of the aforementioned problems in domestic energy production is the purchase of foreign oil!
The owe-bama Regime only invests in those green energy companies that are weeks or days away from bankruptcy. That's the primary--in addition to the 'union dues system'--method of rewarding and repaying my supporters and donors. To double-down on this system of quasi-legal, political money-laundering is the ultimate DISSERVICE to the hardworking, taxpaying Americans! These green energy sources are better researched and developed on someone's "kitchen table;" that's where Henry Ford figuratively developed his automobile engine; that's figuratively where Thomas Edison developed his lightbulb and the multitude of other popular inventions.
That’s not the future that I want for America. I don’t want folks like these back here and the folks in front of me to have to pay more at the pump every time that there’s some unrest in the Middle East and oil speculators get nervous about whether there’s going to be enough supply. I don’t want our kids to be held hostage to events on the other side of the world. I want us to control our own destiny. I want us to forge our own future. And that’s why, as long as I’m President, America is going to pursue an all-of-the-above energy strategy, which means we will continue developing our oil and gas resources in a robust and responsible way. But it also means that we’re going to keep developing more advanced homegrown biofuels, the kinds that are already powering truck fleets across America. We’re going to keep investing in clean energy like the wind power and solar power that’s already lighting thousands of homes and creating thousands of jobs. We’re going to keep manufacturing more cars and trucks to get more miles to the gallon so that you can fill up once every two weeks instead of every week. We’re going to keep building more homes and businesses that waste less energy so that you’re in charge of your own energy bills. We’re going to do all of this by harnessing our most inexhaustible resource: American ingenuity and American imagination. That’s what we need to keep going. That’s what’s at stake right now. That’s the choice that we face. And that’s the choice that’s facing Congress today. They can either vote to spend billions of dollars more in oil subsidies that keep us trapped in the past, or they can vote to end these taxpayer subsidies that aren’t needed to boost oil production so that we can invest in the future. It’s that simple. And as long as I’m President, I’m betting on the future. And as the people I’ve talked to around the country, including the people who are behind me here today, they put their faith in the future as well. That’s what we do as Americans. That’s who we are. We innovate. We discover. We seek new solutions to some of our biggest challenges. And, ultimately, because we stick with it, we succeed. And I believe that we’re going to do that again. Today, the American people are going to be watching Congress to see if they have that same faith.
I might have said: Reducing America's dependency on foreign oil will help to solve the increasing pump prices. That reduction will come about with more oil refineries, more APPROVED drilling permits, more APPROVED international pipelines; all which fall under my purview!! I have not been successful in strangling the oil sector of the energy industry. I shall continue in that effort. In the meantime, the oil sector is successful--where green-energy sectors are dismal failures--simply because oil is sustainable; green-energy is not! When using the private-sector numbers--ignoring the federal government-created prognostications--the United States has enough oil reserves to contine at current demand, for three-hundred, plus years (300+ years)!!
In conclusion I'm going to comment on a recent event, namely the Trayvon Martin tragedy. While it is a tragedy, the family deserves much, much more than they're currently getting. The racist I installed as the Attorney-General, eric holder is clearly as racist as I am incompetent! After our friends in the New Black Panthers organization put a $10,000 bounty on George Zimmerman's head; after our friends in the New Black Panthers organization formed a posse to hunt the guy down, no one from the regime--to include those in barackingham Palace; to include those in the Socio-Justice Department--has taken the first step to have said 'panther' miscreants arrested and charged with several appropriate felonies!! I--and again, Ya can't fix STUPID!!--would have to be completely ignorant to believe that these recent felonious actions by our friends in the New Black Panthers organization; actions like voter intimidation, by our friends in the New Black Panthers organization won't become THE topic of campaign debates; THE topic of campaign advertising!!

This week, I traveled across the country to talk about my all-of-the-above energy strategy for America – a strategy where we produce more oil and gas here at home, but also more biofuels and fuel-efficient cars; more solar power and wind power and other sources of clean, renewable energy. Now, you wouldn’t know it by listening to some of the folks running for office today, but producing more oil at home has been, and will continue to be, a key part of my energy strategy. Under my Administration, we’re producing more oil than at any other time in the last eight years. We’ve quadrupled the number of operating oil rigs to a record high. And we’ve added enough oil and gas pipeline to circle the entire Earth and then some. Those are the facts. But as I’ve been saying all week, even though America uses around 20 percent of the world’s oil, we only have around 2 percent of the world’s known oil reserves. So even if we drilled everywhere, we’d still be relying on other countries for oil. That’s why we’re pursuing an all-of-the-above strategy. We’re producing more biofuels. More fuel-efficient cars. More solar power. More wind power. This week, I was in Boulder City, Nevada, where they’ve got the largest solar plant of its kind anywhere in the country. That’s the future. I was at Ohio State University, where they’ve developed the fastest electric car in the world. That’s the future. I don’t want to cede these clean energy industries to China or Germany or any other country. I want to see solar panels and wind turbines and fuel-efficient cars manufactured right here in America, by American workers.
[What I'm not telling you: As usual, the 'fact-checkers' among us are reducing most of my blather opportunities to moot attempts at rewriting statistics, facts as well as political 'talking points.' The 'socio-fascist' in me doesn't want to admit that their facts are more factual than my facts.... but they are!! The total miles of pipeline I speak of are intentional obfuscations of the COMPLETE facts. Most of what I refer to are NATURAL GAS piplines; to a lesser extent, are 'OIL PRODUCTS' pipelines. I pray upon Americans' lack of knowledge on the topic of crude oil transportation.
The greatest 'positive' in my blather opportunities is not the wording I use but the American public's distinct lack of initiative to search out the facts on their own! The American public just takes my blather as fact. In most cases, there is a modicum of facts imbedded in these spiels which are clouded with dry statistics which only the 'fact-checkers' among us bother to verify. The "2%-20%" numbers--central to my denegration of the entire oil industry--are no exception! See, the various agencies of the federal government--all under the regime's direct control--regurgitate what ever supportive statistics I need to buttress the regime's--as an extension of George Soros'--position on any energy-related topic. In most cases, said statistics are pulled out'ta some guy's ass; in fewer cases, there's just a bit of truth deeply imbedded in the blather. The 'fact-checkers' have pointed out that the United States is the third-largest oil producer in the world with nearly 10% of the market. The United States produces nearly as much crude oil as the rest of North America, COMBINED!!
As has been pointed out by the various--and growing--numbers of conservative radio talkshows, the 'government' statistics relating to national oil production, reserves, et al, do not include the more recent discoveries of fossil fuels, such as tar sands crude, the Bakken Formation in North Dakota, the Marcellus Shale gas deposits. The Bakken find was originally estimated in the billion-barrel range. After two revisions, it's now estimated to contail in excess of 20 billion barrels. This goes on every day when the federal government is involved in guesstimates in energy sources they disapprove of!!
The 'Marcellus Deposit' stretches from upper Central New York State, through Pennsylvania, culminating in West Virginia. That's a range of approximately 575 miles and estimated to be upwards of 900 FEET thick!! Original estimates of the volumne of natural gas contained therein were in the neighborhood of 1.5 Trillion cubic feet. New research as revised the estimate to be upwards of 500 TRILLION CUBIC FEET!! This certainly does nothing to support my contention that renewable, green energy is the energy of the future.
The country's largest solar power plant I visited in Nevada earlier in the week is turning out--"thanks again, all you 'fact-checkers'"--to have as dismal future--power production-wise; jobs creation-wise--as the late, bankrupt-but-federally-subsidized, Solyndra!! The "Copper Mountain Solar 1" facility produces but 58 megawatts-per-hour with only 10 full-time employees. This is after $1.6 billion in federal--read: TAXPAYER--money! By comparison, the average, evil, coal-fired power plant produces upwars of 600 megawatts-per-hour, at a far-cheaper total cost!!]
Now, getting those clean energy industries to locate here requires us to maintain a national commitment to new research and development. But it also requires us to build world-class transportation and communications networks, so that any company can move goods and sell products all around the world as quickly and efficiently as possible. So much of America needs to be rebuilt right now. We’ve got crumbling roads and bridges. A power grid that wastes too much energy. An incomplete high-speed broadband network. And we’ve got thousands of unemployed construction workers who’ve been looking for a job ever since the housing market collapsed. But once again, we’re waiting on Congress. You see, in a matter of days, funding will stop for all sorts of transportation projects. Construction sites will go idle. Workers will have to go home. And our economy will take a hit. This Congress cannot let that happen. Not at a time when we should be doing everything in our power – Democrats and Republicans – to keep this recovery moving forward. The Senate did their part. They passed a bipartisan transportation bill. It had the support of 52 Democrats and 22 Republicans. Now it’s up to the House to follow suit; to put aside partisan posturing, end the gridlock, and do what’s right for the American people. This is common sense. Right now, all across this country, we’ve got contractors and construction workers who have never been more eager to get back on the job. A long term transportation bill would put them to work. And those are good jobs. We just released a report that shows nearly 90 percent of the construction, manufacturing and trade jobs created through investments in transportation projects are middle class jobs. Those are exactly the jobs we need right now, and they’ll make the economy stronger for everybody. We’ve done this before. During the Great Depression, America built the Hoover Dam and the Golden Gate Bridge. After World War II, we connected our states with a system of highways. Democratic and Republican administrations invested in great projects that benefited everybody, from the workers who built them to the businesses that still use them today. So tell Congress that if we invest in new technology and new energy; in new roads and bridges and construction projects, we can keep growing our economy, put our people back to work, and remind the world why the United States is the greatest nation on Earth.
[What I'm not telling you: The only hope I have for re-immaculation is to campaign against a 'do-nothing' Congress which--by necessity--must include loyal owe-bamacRATics! For my own, political self-preservation I'm forced to throw said owe-bamacRATics 'under-the-bus' along with the republicRATics!
My denegrating phrase: the 'do-nothing' Congress? It couldn't be farther from the truth; I just don't appreciate being constrained as America's first socio-fascist ruler!! I--and by 'I,' I mean George Soros--know best what will continue America along the socialist-fascist-communist-Leninist-Marxist-et al, path of governance!! This has been best evidenced by my use of the 'Executive Order' and my executive decisions to circumvent both the United States Constitution as well as the United States Congress.
These 'shovel-ready' jobs that the 787-billion-dollar PORKulus bill was to fund, rarely ever materialized. Most of those funds went to reward my donors, supporters and campaign workers. Now I need to whine more-and-more to have said funds replenished with a promise that I'll actually use them for the stated intention! Ha!! Fat chance'a'that!! Where was the concept of these 'contractors and construction workers who have never been more eager to get back on the job' when I refused to allow approval of the cross-border portion of the "Keystone XL Pipeline" project?!? Approval of the entire "Keystone XL Pipeline" project would have provided upwards of 20,000 hard-working Americans with temporary, short-term employment; would have provided--upon completion--upwards of 200,000 hard-working Americans with permanent, full-time jobs!! Said approval would NOT have cost the American taxpayer 'one-red-cent' and yet, provided these several thousands of jobs!! Ah, the mind of the socio-fascist!!??!!
The funding I'm whining about currently--various on-going highway projects--does not depend entirely on the House passing the Senate highway funding bill. The House majority has assured the American public of it's intention to pass 30-day temporary funding legislation while ironing out the various conundrums contained in the original Senate bill. A more palatable solution--as viewed through a Taxpayer's eye--is to reduce wasteful federal spending in other areas, a hotly-contested topic in both branches of government.
Does the country need another 'Hoover Dam;' does the country need another 'Golden Gate Bridge;' does the country need another 'Empire State Building; does the country need another 'interstate highway system?!?' A conservative; a taxpayer, would say: "Not no, but HELL NO!! We socio-fascists--in order to perpetuate our failed philosophy--must continue to suck money out of the economy to fund various projects important to us: rewards, bribes, pay-offs, et al!!]

[....] Yesterday, I visited Nevada and New Mexico to talk about what we're calling an all-of-the-above energy strategy. It’s a strategy that will keep us on track to further reduce our dependence on foreign oil, put more people back to work, and ultimately help to curb the spike in gas prices that we're seeing year after year after year. So today, I’ve come to Cushing, an oil town because producing more oil and gas here at home has been, and will continue to be, a critical part of an all-of-the-above energy strategy. Now, under my administration, America is producing more oil today than at any time in the last eight years. That's important to know. Over the last three years, I’ve directed my administration to open up millions of acres for gas and oil exploration across 23 different states. We’re opening up more than 75 percent of our potential oil resources offshore. We’ve quadrupled the number of operating rigs to a record high. We’ve added enough new oil and gas pipeline to encircle the Earth and then some. So we are drilling all over the place -- right now. That’s not the challenge. That's not the problem. In fact, the problem in a place like Cushing is that we’re actually producing so much oil and gas in places like North Dakota and Colorado that we don’t have enough pipeline capacity to transport all of it to where it needs to go -- both to refineries, and then, eventually, all across the country and around the world. There’s a bottleneck right here because we can’t get enough of the oil to our refineries fast enough. And if we could, then we would be able to increase our oil supplies at a time when they're needed as much as possible.
As we approached the airport aboard "The Emperor Express"--you FUND IT as Air Force One--I was a bit apprehensive in coming to Cushing, but--on the other hand--I was glad for my Presidential Protection Detail who are armed to the teeth. Someday--possibly--someone, somewhere will finally outwardly take exception to my continual, all-encompassing lies on every possible topic and to a possible injurious end, I'm beginning to fear for my physical safety. I'm glad it wasn't Cushing!! (wudda been applause)
I'm beginning to realize the regime's "all-of-the-above" approach to energy production must be edited. At the beginning of this week, I've been forced to add oil into the mix. That evil OIL is the only 'tried-and-true' energy source on the planet, not just in the United States. That evil OIL is the only energy source that's EVER shown a profit and continues to do so, by the second, day-after-day!! I have, and will continue to promote every other FAILED source of energy; wind, solar, hydro-, wave, tidal as well as geothermal over the positives associated with that evil. The two most prominent--solar and wind--whose ownership and investors I bribe with federal funds, have yet to generate one-dam'-dime in profit!!
Now, those drilling, oil-rig, gas-and-oil pipeline and oil production figures are highly suspect at best! As for the "....we're actually producing so much gas and oil...." statement: Complete Lie!! I'm thinking you'll attribute all this oil-and-gas production to the owe-bama regime when actually most of the drilling sites and the issuance of permits all happened under that evil President George W. Bush! The rare truth--atleast out of my mouth--is that there is a bottleneck in oil delivery to the Gulf Coast refineries. The pipeline I'm here to claim as my own, has nothing to do with me or the regime. It doesn't cross international borders so the regime has no authority to approve or disapprove it!! As I said, I'm just here to claim it as my own.
Now, right now, a company called TransCanada has applied to build a new pipeline to speed more oil from Cushing to state-of-the-art refineries down on the Gulf Coast. And today, I'm directing my administration to cut through the red tape, break through the bureaucratic hurdles, and make this project a priority, to go ahead and get it done. Now, you wouldn't know all this from listening to the television set. This whole issue of the Keystone pipeline had generated, obviously, a lot of controversy and a lot of politics. And that’s because the original route from Canada into the United States was planned through an area in Nebraska that supplies some drinking water for nearly 2 million Americans, and irrigation for a good portion of America's croplands. And Nebraskans of all political stripes -- including the Republican governor there -- raised some concerns about the safety and wisdom of that route. So to be extra careful that the construction of the pipeline in an area like that wouldn’t put the health and the safety of the American people at risk, our experts said that we needed a certain amount of time to review the project. Unfortunately, Congress decided they wanted their own timeline -- not the company, not the experts, but members of Congress who decided this might be a fun political issue, decided to try to intervene and make it impossible for us to make an informed decision. So what we’ve said to the company is, we’re happy to review future permits. And today, we’re making this new pipeline from Cushing to the Gulf a priority. So the southern leg of it we're making a priority, and we're going to go ahead and get that done. The northern portion of it we're going to have to review properly to make sure that the health and safety of the American people are protected. That’s common sense. But the fact is that my administration has approved dozens of new oil and gas pipelines over the last three years -– including one from Canada. And as long as I’m President, we’re going to keep on encouraging oil development and infrastructure and we’re going to do it in a way that protects the health and safety of the American people. We don’t have to choose between one or the other, we can do both. So if you guys are talking to your friends, your neighbors, your coworkers, your aunts or uncles and they’re wondering what’s going on in terms of oil production, you just tell them anybody who suggests that somehow we’re suppressing domestic oil production isn’t paying attention. They are not paying attention. What you also need to tell them is anybody who says that just drilling more gas and more oil by itself will bring down gas prices tomorrow or the next day or even next year, they’re also not paying attention. They’re not playing it straight. Because we are drilling more, we are producing more. But the fact is, producing more oil at home isn’t enough by itself to bring gas prices down. And the reason is we’ve got an oil market that is global, that is worldwide. And I’ve been saying for the last few weeks, and I want everybody to understand this, we use 20 percent of the world’s oil; we only produce 2 percent of the world’s oil. Even if we opened every inch of the country -- if I put a oil rig on the South Lawn if we had one right next to the Washington Monument, even if we drilled every little bit of this great country of ours, we’d still have to buy the rest of our needs from someplace else if we keep on using the same amount of energy, the same amount of oil. The price of oil will still be set by the global market. And that means every time there’s tensions that rise in the Middle East -- which is what’s happening right now -- so will the price of gas. The main reason the gas prices are high right now is because people are worried about what’s happening with Iran. It doesn’t have to do with domestic oil production. It has to do with the oil markets looking and saying, you know what, if something happens there could be trouble and so we’re going to price oil higher just in case. Now, that’s not the future that we went. We don’t want to be vulnerable to something that’s happening on the other side of the world somehow affecting our economy, or hurting a lot of folks who have to drive to get to work. That’s not the future I want for America. That's not the future I want for our kids. I want us to control our own energy destiny. I want us to determine our own course.
The 'TransCanada application' AND PERMIT have been in force for some several months; is not germaine to any current conversation. That bullshit about all the red tape; the bullshit about the bureaucratic hurdles, is just that: more owe-bama BULLSHIT!! Who added over 100 NEW regulations at the astronomical initial cost of $11 Billion; an annual cost of over $46 Billion, thereafter?!? ME--your exhalted ruler--that's who! By comparison, my predecessor--that evil President George W. Bush--added less than 25% of my total; at an annual cost of less than $10 Billion!! The bureaucratic hurdles: 'bureaucratic' is by definition-GOVERNMENT; government is by definition-ME, your exhalted ruler!! The aforementioned orders I'll give to my regime are just so much more royal, exhalted BULLSHIT!! You folks probably see anything to the contrary on the television; the national pamphleteer corpse are 'in-the-tank' for my re-immaculation. So, yes, we’re going to keep on drilling. Yes, we’re going to keep on emphasizing production. Yes, we’re going to make sure that we can get oil to where it’s needed. But what we’re also going to be doing as part of an all-of-the-above strategy is looking at how we can continually improve the utilization of renewable energy sources, new clean energy sources, and how do we become more efficient in our use of energy. That means producing more biofuels, which can be great for our farmers and great for rural economies. It means more fuel-efficient cars. It means more solar power. It means more wind power -- which, by the way, nearly tripled here in Oklahoma over the past three years in part because of some of our policies. We want every source of American-made energy. I don’t want the energy jobs of tomorrow going to other countries. I want them here in the United States of America. And that’s what an all-of-the-above strategy is all about. That’s how we break our dependence on foreign oil. Now, the good news is we’re already seeing progress. Yesterday, I went, in Nevada, to the largest solar plant of its kind anywhere in the country. Hundreds of workers built it. It’s powering thousands of homes, and they’re expanding to tens of thousands of homes more as they put more capacity online. After 30 years of not doing anything, we finally increased fuel-efficiency standards on cars and trucks, and Americans are now designing and building cars that will go nearly twice as far on the same gallon of gas by the middle of the next decade. And that's going to save the average family $8,000 over the life of a car. And it’s going to save a lot of companies a lot of money because they’re hurt by rising fuel costs, as well. All of these steps have helped put America on the path to greater energy independence. Since I took office, our dependence on foreign oil has gone down every single year. Last year, we imported 1 million fewer barrels per day than the year before. Think about that. America, at a time when we’re growing, is actually importing less oil from overseas because we’re using it smarter and more efficiently. America is now importing less than half the oil we use for the first time in more than a decade. So the key is to keep it going, Oklahoma. We’ve got to make sure that we don't go backwards, that we keep going forwards. If we’re going to end our dependence on foreign oil, if we’re going to bring gas prices down once and for all, as opposed to just playing politics with it every single year, then what we’re going to have to do is to develop every single source of energy that we’ve got, every new technology that can help us become more efficient. We’ve got to use our innovation. We’ve got to use our brain power. We've got to use our creativity. We've got to have a vision for the future, not just constantly looking backwards at the past. That's where we need to go. That's the future we can build. And that's what America has always been about, is building the future. We've always been at the cutting-edge. We're always ahead of the curve. Whether it's Thomas Edison or the Wright Brothers or Steve Jobs, we're always thinking about what's the next thing. And that's how we have to think about energy. And if we do, not only are we going to see jobs and growth and success here in Cushing, Oklahoma, we're going to see it all across the country.

The American Bird Conservancy estimates that upwards of 250,000 birds are killed annually by windmills. Yesterday--Wednesday, March 21st--"Clown Prince ZERO-bama, the Narcissist" was in Cushing, Oklahoma, an intermediate terminus of the "Keystone XL Pipeline." As is the norm, I usually find the "Clown Prince's" blusterful blather, copy and paste it for my translation into what his words actually ment. On previous occasions, I was able to find most blather on the "Palace" website; not so, the Cushing blather opportunity!
Re-immaculationally speaking, disapproval of the international aspects of the "Keystone XL Pipeline" project was poor political strategy.... to say the least!! I expect the "Clown Prince" will spin this 'Cushing blather' to appear that he's had a change-of-heart and has approved building the "Keystone XL Pipeline;" NOT SO!! The "Cushing-to-the-Gulf" leg of said pipeline doesn't cross any international borders; hence, does not require 'ruler-of-the-free-world,' approval!!
People--far smarter than I--are surmising that the 'Cushing blather' is being kept out of 'print' so as to not upset his dwindling owe-bamacRATic base; not only the owe-bamacRATics themselves, but the environmentalists and the tree-huggers as well. I hold no hope that the "Clown Prince" will be swayed from his opinion that all fossil fuels are 'energy-of-the-past.' The current national average gas price (03/20-AM) is $3.846; diesel-$4.142. Of course, these averages are important.... but not nearly as important as the pump prices where you are!! If you check the 'aaa' URL below, be prepared for a surprise with the "E85 MPG/BTU adjusted price!!"
The EPA, the tree-huggin' environmentalists would like grain-based fuels to be mandated for use. As you can see--at these prices--said mandate would bankrupt the average consumer.
The national pamphleteers will never report it; the 'Palace' mouthpieces will never admit it, but the gargantuan rise in fuel prices can be directly attributed to the failed national energy policy--IF there even is one--of the "Clown Prince ZERO-bama, the Narcissist" regime!! The "Palace" mouthpieces say that approval of the "Keystone XL Pipeline" project won't get us out of this "Clown Prince"-made economic hole. True, as far as it goes. In every case, NOW is when we prepare for the FUTURE. The "Keystone" project--when the NEXT ruler anoints it--will be on line eventually to start the fall in fuel prices; to start the rise to +/- 200,000 additional, permanent--well paying--jobs!! The "Palace" mouthpieces say we can't 'drill our way out' of this kerfuffle. If we can't then why drill at all?!?
We can carp about the "Clown Prince" and his failed presidency--til-the-cows-come-home--to no avail! He is what he is; socio-fascists--apparently--can not be reformed! What we must be more concerned about is the ancillary net effects of his failed policies. While we're getting raped at the pump, has anyone thought about what happens practically everywhere else in the economy?!? I have.
In practically every sector of the economy, the products travel from point-to-point by truck. Eventually, as inventory is sold and replenished, the affects of higher fuel prices will be felt at the retail level:
The Wegman's; the Topps; the Giant; the Winn-Dixie; the HEB supermarkets will be forced to raise prices on foodstuffs to reflect the higher fuel expense.
The local Walmart, Target, Macy's, et al, will do the same;
The local Lowes', Home Depot, Menard's, et al, will do the same;
The local Pep Boys, Advance Auto Parts, O'Reilly's, et al, will do the same; on and on to every segment; to every level of the wholesale and retail economies!
The affects are felt not only at the pump and the local retail establishments but the various branches of house-building.... hell, every segment you can think of!! Not only do we have to worry about current and future retail prices, now the "i-word"--inflation--will be an ever greater factor in price increases as well!!

As I’m sure you’ve noticed over the past few weeks, the price at your local pump has been going up and up. And because it’s an election year, so has the temperature of our political rhetoric. What matters most to me right now is the impact that rising prices have on you. When you’ve got to spend more on gas, you’ve got less to spend on everything else. It makes things harder. So I wanted to take a minute this weekend to explain what steps my Administration is taking when it comes to energy – most importantly, producing more of it while using less of it. The truth is: the price of gas depends on a lot of factors that are often beyond our control. Unrest in the Middle East can tighten global oil supply. Growing nations like China or India adding cars to the road increases demand. But one thing we should control is fraud and manipulation that can cause prices to spike even further. For years, traders at financial firms were able to game the energy markets, distort the price of oil, and make big profits for themselves at your expense. And they were able to do all that because of major gaps and loopholes in our regulations. When I took office, we did something about it. The Wall Street reforms I signed into law are helping bring energy markets out of the shadows and under real oversight. They’re strengthening our ability to go after fraud and to prevent traders from manipulating the market. So it’s not just wrong, but dangerous that some in Congress want to roll back those protections and return to the days when companies like Enron could avoid regulation and reap enormous profits, no matter who it hurt. What’s more, at a time when big oil companies are making more money than ever before, we’re still giving them $4 billion of your tax dollars in subsidies every year. Your member of Congress should be fighting for you. Not for big financial firms. Not for big oil companies.
[What I'm not telling you: Good morning, subjects. As you're well aware by now, I'm always ready-and-willing to claim credit whether my decisions are responsible for the actions or not. To that end, I'm claiming credit for the fuel prices' advance, both of late as well as over the l-o-n-g term of my reign. As the blogosphere is rightfully claiming--under my tutelage--the national average gas prices are up nearly 110%--with diesel prices up over 90%--since my immaculation.
The sources required to 'feed' the United States' demand for oil are truly worldwide. I've been on the phone, begging those middle-east oil producers to boost production in an effort to start a downward cycle of U.S. gas and diesel prices. The truth is--and ya better bookmark this, 'truth' is not a prevailing conception for me--Canada is the largest supplier of oil to the United States. After acting against creating 15,000-25,000 short-term jobs; against creating upwards of 200,000 long-term, permanent jobs by refusing to approve the "Keystone XL" Pipeline project, the Canadian government seems to be making good on it's promise. See, I make idle threats almost daily and as such, I don't expect people to take them seriously. I'm finding the 'Canadian mindset' isn't the same, they don't make idle threats!!
The net affect of the loss of the "Keystone XL Pipeline" is Canada has lost the U.S. Gulf Coast as a 'customer' for their oil. At the time the tree-huggers protested the pipeline and I came down on their side, the Canadian government assured us they'd pipe the oil to the Canadian west coast and ship it to China. So, my decision on the pipeline project had a two-fold negative decision: not only did Americans lose this source of good-paying, permanent jobs, the country lost the Albertan oil as a source to feed our ever-growing energy demands.
This brings up the area of 'commodities trading.' To explain the entire system--which I just learned the intricacies of, yesterday--would take several hours and many pages. I'll try to explain what very little I know about this market. A 'commodity' is an item of value which can be traded on markets created for each 'commodity.'
Some of the more actively traded commodities are: gold, silver, diamonds, platinum, crude oil, heating oil, gasoline, coffee, wheat, corn, maize, oats, rice, soybeans, beef, live cattle, pork, eggs, cocoa, butter, orange juice, sugar, aluminum, nickel, copper, lead, ferrous scrap metal, plastic, natural gas and--w-h-e-w!!--bio-fuels, just to name a partial list.
These various 'commodities' are traded on markets such as the New York Mercantile Exchange, the Dubai Mercantile Exchange, the Central Japan Commodity Exchange, the New York Board of Trade, the Kansai Commodities Exchange, the Singapore Commodities Exchange, Euronext (London), the Chicago Board of Trade, the Risk Management Exchange, the Minneapolis Grain Exchange, the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange, the Tokyo Grain Exchange, the London Metal Exchange, the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the Hedgestreet Exchange (California), the Brazilian Mercantile and Futures Exchange, the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange, the National Commodities Exchange Limited (Pakistan), the Dalian Community Exchange (China) and--again, w-h-e-w!!--the Bursa Malaysia.
Some of these many traders actually create markets for various commodities, where none previously existed--a truly valuable service. Although I'm currently trying to vilify the various petroleum traders who--I say--drive up prices, actually may reduce prices, given the demand or lack thereof. With the expulsion of the "Keystone XL Pipeline"--and by extension, Canada--I have--consciously or unconsciously--driven up the gas prices for my subjects.

OK boys and girls, back to the original topic as programmed into the teleprompter: We have to continue to vilify that evil 'Big Oil!" I contend that this $4 Billion in subsidies is a huge amount for the American taxpayer to shoulder. Bull-SHIT!! To gain the proper perspective, compare said subsidy to the national debt of say....15.5 TRILLION dollars. The 4 BILLION dollar subsidy is but .000258% (commonly spoken, it's: two-hundred, fifty-eight... hundred-thousandths of a single percentage-point!!! ....4 billion divided by 15,500 billion) I suppose one can say that the national debt--and related borrowing; and related SPENDING--has a 25,800,000 times greater NEGATIVE affect on fuel prices than does the miniscule subsidy to that evil 'Big Oil!!']
In the next few weeks, I expect Congress to vote on ending these subsidies. And when they do, we’re going to put every single Member of Congress on record: They can either stand up for oil companies, or they can stand up for the American people. They can either place their bets on a fossil fuel from the last century, or they can place their bets on America’s future. So make your voice heard. Send your representative an email. Give them a call. Tell them to stand with you. And tell them to be honest with you. It’s easy to promise a quick fix when it comes to gas prices. There just isn’t one. Anyone who tells you otherwise – any career politician who promises some three-point plan for two-dollar gas – they’re not looking for a solution. They’re just looking for your vote. If we’re truly going to make sure we’re not at the mercy of spikes in gas prices every year, the answer isn’t just to drill more – because we’re already drilling more. Under my Administration, we’re producing more oil here at home than at any time in the last eight years, that’s a fact. We’ve quadrupled the number of operating oil rigs to a record high, that’s a fact. And we’ve opened millions of acres on land and offshore to develop more of our domestic resources. Those are the facts. But we can’t just rely on drilling. Not when we use more than 20 percent of the world’s oil, but still only have 2 percent of the world’s known oil reserves. If we don’t develop other sources of energy, and the technology to use less energy, we’ll continue to be dependent on foreign countries for our energy needs. That’s why we’re pursuing an all-of-the-above strategy. As we develop more oil and gas, we’re also developing wind and solar power; biofuels, and next-generation vehicles – and thousands of Americans have jobs right now because of it. We need to keep making those investments – because I don’t want to see those jobs go to other countries. I want to create even more of them right here in America. And after three decades of inaction, we raised fuel economy standards so that by the middle of the next decade, our cars will average nearly 55 miles per gallon. That’s nearly double what they get today. That means you’ll only have to fill up every two weeks instead of every week. And that will save the typical family more than $8,000 over the life of the car – just by using less gas. Combined, these steps have helped put us on a path to greater energy independence. Since I took office, America’s dependence on foreign oil has gone down every single year. In 2010, for the first time in 13 years, less than half the oil we used came from foreign countries. We can do even better. And we will. But what we can’t do is keep being dependent on other countries for our energy needs. In America we control our own destiny. So that’s the choice we face – the past, or the future. And America is what it is today because we have always placed our bets on the future.
[What I'm not telling you: You SHOULD contact your members of Congress!! Were I in your position, I'd demand they keep the subsidies to the evil 'Big Oil' companies in force. To remove said subsidies is tatamount to an added tax on the American driver!! In the whole scheme of things, ending said subsidies and putting that $4 Billion back into the general fund is to give me more money to piss away; more money with which to reward my supporters and donors!!
My support of--nay, DEMAND for--green energy development is ludicruis on it's face!! As they currently stand, each segment of 'green' energy is unsustainable without federal subsidies!! Why are 'green' energy subsidies the way to go, while subsidies to that evil 'Big Oil' is not?!? We have a 250-year supply of fossil fuels at current demand levels. We have no--proven workable--supply of the various 'green' energy sources!!

'pinky' reid, the Nevadan miscreant Senate Majority Leader, was positively giddy at the results of the "Keystone XL" pipeline vote. After lobbying phone calls from "Clown Prince ZERO-bama, the Narcissist," the Senate owe-bamacRATics voted 56-42 to defeat fast-tracking the pipeline amendment to the Transportation bill.
The "Keystone XL" vote--if positive--would have fast-tracked the legislation.
The "Keystone XL" amendment will have transfer approval authority from the State Department to the Congress.
The "Clown Prince" wasn't too successful in lobbying his socio-fascist philosophy to several owe-bamacRATic Senators. Apparently the reid/owe-bama stranglehold on the U.S. Senate is waning as noted by the owe-bamacRATic defectors in the "Keystone" vote:

....the Freighterline trucks that you’re making here at this plant run on natural gas, and that makes them quieter, it makes them better for the environment, it makes them cheaper to fill up than they would be with diesel. I hear you sold your 1,000th natural gas truck last November -– (applause) -- the first company to reach that milestone. And it was made right here in Mount Holly. (Applause.) And last year, this plant added more than 1,000 workers, hiring back a lot of folks who were laid off during the recession. (Applause.) That is something to be proud of.
Relative to the trucks you're building here in Mount Holly, my regime has not taken a stance on the on-going 'fracking' controversy in New York and other states where it's not an approved method of natural gas extraction. We plan to let the kerfuffle play out and take the side of 'the winners.'You're building trucks that use less oil. And you know that’s especially important right now because most of you have probably filled up your gas tank a time or two in the last week, and you've seen how quickly the price of gas is going up. A lot of you may have to drive a distance to work. Higher gas prices are like a tax straight out of your paycheck. And for companies that operate a whole fleet of trucks, the higher costs can make a big difference in terms of the profitability of the company. Now, here's the thing, though -- this is not the first time we've seen gas prices spike. It's been happening for years. Every year, about this time, gas starts spiking up, and everybody starts wondering, how high is it going to go? And every year, politicians start talking when gas prices go up. They get out on the campaign trail -- and you and I both know there are no quick fixes to this problem -- but listening to them, you'd think there were. As a country that has 2 percent of the world's oil reserves, but uses 20 percent of the world's oil -- I'm going to repeat that -- we've got 2 percent of the world oil reserves; we use 20 percent. What that means is, as much as we're doing to increase oil production, we're not going to be able to just drill our way out of the problem of high gas prices. Anybody who tells you otherwise either doesn’t know what they’re talking about or they aren’t telling you the truth.
My blather about today's fuel price increases is only a partial lie. Oil prices--and by extension, the retail fuel prices--are cyclical in nature; driven by both demand and production. What I leave out of every 'energy' blather event is that the national retail fuel price average has doubled--actually gone up about 105%--since my immaculation, and still climbing!!
Those oil statistics I quote are complete obfuscations of the actual facts as well as the listeners' perceptions of their meaning. I take advantage of the public ignorance as to the definitions of various numbers I quote. When I speak of '2 percent of the world oil reserves....' I actually mean 2% of the worldwide amount of oil actually extracted, NOT 2% of the world's DISCOVERED oil reserves. If what I say were actually true, wouldn't it stand to reason that we'd have to import 98% of our annual oil usage?!?
"We're not going to be able to just drill out way out of the problem of high gas prices."
I like to make that statement in my campaign speeches. Most attend my blather opportunities due to my notoriety, not because they believe--or agree with--my message. Look at the production problem logically: From application to the first production well, the drilling process is several years long. From that perspective, we'd have lower gas prices today if only that evil George W. Bush would have approved more drilling permits. It's all his fault, I'm just following his lead!! If the country will always have high fuel prices relative to the number of producing wells; why drill at all?!? Why not just import 100% of our oil needs?!? One of the most contradictory actions to come along since my immaculation has been the KeyStone XL pipeline. It has nothing to do with oil exploration, with oil drilling, with oil production; it's only involved with the transportation of crude oil from Canada to the refineries on the Texas Gulf Coast. And yet, I refused to approve it even though the various federal departments could find no area in which the pipeling was not in compliance!!Here is the truth. If we are going to control our energy future, then we’ve got to have an all-of-the-above strategy. We’ve got to develop every source of American energy -- not just oil and gas, but wind power and solar power, nuclear power, biofuels. We need to invest in the technology that will help us use less oil in our cars and our trucks, in our buildings, in our factories. That’s the only solution to the challenge. Because as we start using less, that lowers the demand, prices come down. It's pretty straightforward. That’s the only solution to this challenge. And that’s the strategy that we’ve now been pursuing for the last three years. And I’m proud to say we’ve made progress. Since I took office, America’s dependence on foreign oil has gone down every single year. In fact, in 2010, it went under 50 percent for the first time in 13 years. You wouldn’t know it from listening to some of these folks out here -- (laughter) -- some of these folks -- (laughter) -- but a key part of our energy strategy has been to increase safe, responsible oil production here at home. Under my administration, America is producing more oil today than any time in the last eight years. Under my administration, we’ve quadrupled the number of operating oilrigs to a record high. We’ve got more oilrigs operating now than we’ve ever seen. We’ve opened up millions of new acres for oil and gas exploration. We’ve approved more than 400 drilling permits that follow new safety standards after we had that mess down in the Gulf. We’re approving dozens of new pipelines. We just announced that we’ll do whatever we can to speed up construction of a pipeline in Oklahoma that’s going to relieve a bottleneck and get more oil to the Gulf -- to the refineries down there -- and that’s going to help create jobs, encourage more production. So these are the facts on oil production. If somebody tells you we’re not producing enough oil, they just don’t know the facts.
The 'development' I speak of should be true development, not a method of reward! How much actual development was financed by federal pork paid to Solyndra?!? I contend, very little! And, Solyndra was but one of those we financed that filed for bankruptcy a few short months--in some cases, just weeks--after accepting the federal 'checks.' In all cases, the corporate hierarchies involved were paid--and even received substantial bonuses--as many thousands were laid off--in some cases--with unfulfilled final paychecks. Many contend--and in most cases, it's proven out--that these federal alternative energy SCAMS are little more than rewards to the regime's donors, supporters and campaign workers.
But how much oil we produce here at home, because we only have 2 percent and we use 20, that’s not going to set the price of gas worldwide, or here in the United States. Oil is bought and sold on the world market. And the biggest thing that’s causing the price of oil to rise right now is instability in the Middle East. You guys have been hearing about what’s happening with Iran; there are other oil producers that are having problems. And so people have gotten uncertain. And when uncertainty increases, then sometimes you see speculation on Wall Street that drives up gas prices even more. But here's the thing. Over the long term, the biggest reason oil prices will go up is there's just growing demand in countries like China and India and Brazil. There are a lot of people there. In 2010 alone, China added nearly 10 million cars on its roads. Think about that -- 2010, 10 million new cars. People in China, folks in India, folks in Brazil -- they're going to want cars, too, as their standard of living goes up, and that means more demand for oil, and that's going to kick up the price of oil worldwide. Those numbers are only going to get bigger over time. So what does that mean for us? It means we can't just keep on relying on the old ways of doing business. We can't just rely on fossil fuels from the last century. We've got to continually develop new sources of energy.
Every country on the planet has ever-increasing fossil fuel demands, that's just a fact-of-life. Doesn't make sense that the United States become more involved in oil exploration, oil production and oil refining?!? My regime's complete lack of a beneficial domestic energy policy is--by design--forcing the country into the same circumstance as any third-world rathole. Rather than continuing on a "Saul Alinsky-esque" socio-fascist path, logic would tell everyone--excepting those regime 'followers and supporters'--that America needs to be 'in-the-game!!'
Constantly, the regime attempts to convince the naysayers that all these alternative energy sources will be workable subsitutes for fossil fuels. They may replace small percentages of other fossil fuels, but there's no--across-the-board--subsitute for refined oil! Can you imagine a solar-powered or--funnier, yet--a windpowered Boeing jetliner!?! That's unrealistic, whether your name is George Soros or not!! All those countries I mentioned as leaders in increasing their national oil demands and usage?!? Did I tell you that they're also stepping up their oil exploration and production levels?!? Didn't think so!!
And that’s why we've made investments that have nearly doubled the use of clean, renewable energies in this country. And thousands of Americans have jobs because of it. It also means we’ve got to develop the resources that we have that are untapped, like natural gas. We're developing a near hundred-year supply of natural gas -– and that's something that we expect could support more than 600,000 jobs by the end of the decade. And that’s why we've worked with the private sector to develop a high-tech car battery that costs half as much as other batteries and can go up to 300 miles on a single charge. Think about that. That will save you some money at the pump. And that is why we are helping companies like this one right here and plants like this one right here to make more cars and trucks that use less oil. When I ran for office, I went to Detroit and I gave a speech to automakers where I promised that I was going to raise fuel standards on our cars, so that they’d go further on a gallon of gas. I said we should do the same thing on trucks. I have to tell you, when I said it, I didn't get a lot of applause in the room, because there was a time when automakers were resisting higher fuel standards -- because change isn't easy. But you know what, after three decades of not doing anything, we got together with the oil companies, we got together with the unions, we got together with folks who usually do not see eye to eye, and we negotiated new fuel economy standards that are going to make sure our cars average nearly 55 miles per gallon by the middle of the next decade. That's nearly double what they get today -- nearly double. (Applause.) Now, because of these new standards for cars and trucks, they're going to -- all going to be able to go further and use less fuel every year. And that means pretty soon you’ll be able to fill up your car every two weeks instead of every week -– and, over time, that saves you, a typical family, about $8,000 a year.
Eight thousand dollars -- that's no joke. We can reduce our oil consumption by more than 12 billion barrels. And thanks to the SuperTruck program that we’ve started with companies like this one, trucks will be able to save more than $15,000 in fuel costs every year. Think about that, $15,000. So these trucks can save $15,000 every year. I want people to think about what that means for businesses, what it means for consumers. It is real progress. And it's happening because of American workers and American know-how. It's happening because of you. It's happening because of you.
It's easy for people like me--who rarely drive; who never fill a gas tank--to demand higher CAFE standards. It's far more difficult to meet those more demanding standards! The increased standards are at the expense of affordable vehicles; the retail costs go up a bit each model year, so the consumer doesn't fully realize the increase-over-time. Safety becomes an issue as well, with more-and-more of said vehicles being 'plastic' and aluminum rather than steel.
....and electric cars.... Don't get me started on electric cars!! They're selling so well that 'owe-bama Motors' is curtailing Chevy Volt for a couple of months so over-zealous inventory can catch-up with dismal demand. Who would want one?!? They barely get TWENTY-FIVE MILES on a charge! There's very few charging stations... anyone wanna get stranded?!? Not to mention the battery fires!! Oh.... and talk about payoffs to my buddies!!

Are you also aware that the average annual wage of Chevy Volt buyers is $174,000?!? Shouldn't there be a "Buffett Rule" for Chevy Volt buyers?!?We’re also making it easier for big companies -- some of your customers, like UPS and FedEx -- to make the shift to fuel-efficient cars and trucks. We call it the National Clean Fleets Partnership. And since we announced it last year, the number of companies that are taking part in it has tripled. And that means more customers for your trucks. (Applause.) We're creating more customers for your trucks. And I am proud to say that the federal government is leading by example. One thing the federal government has a lot of is cars and trucks. We got a lot of cars and we got a lot of trucks. And so what I did was I directed every department, every agency in the federal government, to make sure that by 2015, 100 percent of the vehicles we buy run on alternative fuels -- 100 percent. (Applause.) So we’re one of the biggest customers in the world for cars and trucks and we want to set that bar high. We want to set a standard that says by 2015, 100 percent of cars, alternative fuels. So we’re making progress, Mount Holly. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how much natural gas, or flex-fuel or electric vehicles you have if there’s no place to charge them up or fill them up. So that’s why I’m announcing today a program that will put our communities on the cutting edge of what clean energy can do. To cities and towns all across the country, what we’re going to say is, if you make a commitment to buy more advanced vehicles for your community -- whether they run on electricity or biofuels or natural gas -- we’ll help you cut through the red tape and build fueling stations nearby. (Applause.) And we’ll offer tax breaks to families that buy these cars, companies that buy alternative fuel trucks like the ones that are made right here at Mount Holly. (Applause.) So we’re going to give communities across the country more of an incentive to make the shift to more energy-efficient cars. In fact, when I was up in New Hampshire, in Nashua, they had already converted all their dump trucks -- they were in a process because of this program -- they were converting it to natural gas-driven trucks. This is something that we did in education -- we called it Race to the Top. We said we’ll put in more money but we want you to reform. We’re going to give you an incentive to do things in a different way. And if we do the same thing with clean energy, we can save consumers money and we can make sure the economy is more secure. So we’ve got to keep investing in American-made energy and we’ve got to keep investing in the vehicles that run on it. That’s where our future is. And in order to continue this progress, we’re going to have to make a choice. We’ve got to decide where our priorities are as a country. And that’s up to all of you. And I’ll give you an example. Right now, $4 billion of your tax dollars goes straight to the oil industry every year -- $4 billion in subsidies that other companies don’t get. Now, keep in mind, these are some of the same companies that are making record profits every time you fill up your gas tank. We’re giving them extra billions of dollars on top of near-record profits that they’re already making. Anybody think that’s a good idea? It doesn’t make any sense. The American people have subsidized the oil industry long enough -- they don’t need the subsidies. It’s time to end that taxpayer giveaway to an industry that's never been more profitable, invest in clean energy that's never been more promising. (Applause.) So I called on Congress, eliminate these subsidies right away. There’s no excuse to wait any longer. And we should put every member of Congress on record: They can stand up for the oil companies or they can stand up for the American people and this new energy future. (Applause.) We can place our bets on the fuel of the past, or we can place our bets on American know-how and American ingenuity and American workers like the ones here at Daimler. (Applause.) That’s the choice we face. That’s what’s at stake right now. So, in between shifts, get on the phone or email or send a letter or tweet -- (laughter) -- your member of Congress; ask them where they stand on this -- because it will make a difference. And you’ll know where I stand on this. Let’s make sure our voices are heard. The next time you hear some politician trotting out some 3-point plan for $2 gas -- (laughter) -- you let them know, we know better.
We're forgetting the affects of natural gas-fueled trucks in two segments, the military and the over-the-road trucks. First the military. Military vehicles from staff cars to pickups, to 5-ton trucks to tanks, must be 'multi-fuel (fossil)' engines, meaning that they'll run on practically any liquid the soldier can get into the fuel tank. During those armed conflicts I get the country into, the vehicles can't always make it to the 'gas station.' They have to find fuel--any kind of fuel--any place they can. The military vehicles must be of 'diesel-fired' design. For those who don't know--including me-I was recently told of this--a diesel engine can start and run with no required electricity, with the exception of turning the engine over to start it. Diesel engines fire by the heat developed in the compression stroke of the engine. Natural gas military vehicles are not practical. Natural gas fueling stations are not available on the battlefield!!
The over-the-road trucking fleets are not practical users of natural gas as a fuel either. The fuel tanks aren't compatible with travelling great distances. The expense involved in complying with their CAFE standards have increased the trucks' purchase prices by at least $6,000, to an off-the-rack price in the $90,000-$100,000 range. That's for a 'plain-jane' model with only the necessities aboard. To upgrade to natural gas fuel will add another $10,000-$15,000 to the purchase price. Pretty soon, the largest segment of the transportation industry--the 10-truck-or-fewer company--out of business. When that happens, you'll be pissin' and moanin' that the government do something!!
The only things I have to run for re-immaculation on are the various 'warfares' I use in nearly every blather opportunity. We have to continue the use of class and economic warfares as they relate to the oil industry. We whine-and-bitch about the subsidies Congress sees fit to give to "Big Oil," but without them, retail fuel prices would be even higher than I've driven them thusfar!! Without the $4 Billion in annual oil company subsidies, the prices would be several cents-to-a-dollar higher than they were the last time you got gas!! Many of those in Congress that I suggested you contact; are likely to support the continuation of said subsidies. And rightfully so!! They keep the fuel prices down a bit and any reduction in price is a good thing, whether I can claim credit or not!!
