Will Biden Be Fluffy's "Test?"
[Several months ago, the The "Crown-Dolt" of the Fluffy administration pledged that Fluffy obama's resolve would be tested within the first six-months of the new administration. Looks like the dolt's proximity to the family's financial dealings might be "The Test." I found this article on http://www.seekingalpha.com/ ] Zero Hedge is always happy to discover something rotten in the state of capital markets. We are even happier when others dig independently and come up with their own startling conclusions.
Last night, we were very happy. John Hempton, who writes the insightful blog Bronte Capital, has done some amazing dot connecting in what, if true, and not swept promptly under the carpet by the powers that be, could expose a hedge fund scandal that could rival the Madoff fiasco, for the simple reason that it implicates none other than Barak Obama's right hand man: Joe Biden.
The fund in question is Paradigm Capital, a fund of funds, that is controlled by Hunter and James Biden, the VP's son and brother, respectively.
The full story is quite intricate but very much worth it. In putting the facts together, Hempton had a temporary brush in with "the adversary's" legal counsel, only the be vindicated when his initial subject, Ponte Negra Capital, ended up having its assets formally frozen by the SEC. But it does not end there. As Hempton lays it out best:
Firstly the [Paradigm] business was not started by the Bidens – it was purchased by them. It was started by Dr James Park. When the Bidens purchased the business they believed it to have $1.5 billion of funds under management. This little section from an affidavit signed by James Biden (the VP’s brother) is revealing.
(a). The Paradigm Hedge Funds had only between two and three hundred million dollars under management, which were leveraged to over five hundred million, not the more than $1.5 billion under management represented to us by Lotito and Fasciana.
(b) The returns on the Paradigm Hedge Funds were not as represented to us by Lotito and Fasciana; and (with editing)
(d). The primary manager of the funds, Dr. James Park, had an apparent substance abuse problem and had been an absentee manager for several years...
Now please put this in perspective. The Bidens – mostly through failure to do proper due diligence – seem to have wound up in control of a fund of hedge funds which they claim (in sworn affidavit) that
Had less than a fifth the funds under management that they represented to their customers,
Had misrepresented their returns and
Had a primary manager who had “an apparent substance abuse problem”.
Now if you were told a fund manager only had a fifth the funds that he represented to the world, had misrepresented his returns and had a primary manager with a substance abuse problem what you say it is?
Whatever – it quacks.
....Or, Will It Be The "Mexican" Flu?
[Fluffy is making it painfully obvious that his political capital means more to him than the health of the American public. What dumb-ass would make this statement [and it wasn't that goof, biden!]: "Closing the borders would be like closing the door after the horse has gotten out?" To keep the rest of the "diseased horses" in the barn, dumb-ass!!!!]
Travel agents and tour operators have cancelled flights and cruises to Mexico as the swine flu spreads through borders, having already reached nine countries on four continents, and the risk of a pandemic is imminent. Tour operators including TUI (Thomson, First Choice) and Thomas Cook have cancelled all UK flights to Cancun until at least 8 May. Virgin has cancelled package holidays to Mexico until 5 May, and tour operator Kuoni until 3 May. Meanwhile, a number of cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Fred Olsen, Holland America and Princess, said their ships will not be stopping at Mexican ports until at least 4 May and as far ahead as 14 June. European health ministers will meet today to discuss the possibility of issuing a continent-wide travel advisory for Mexico. French authorities have called for a ban on all flights between Europe and Mexico.
Glenn Beck On Rush Limbaugh
[Glenn Beck had been asked by Time Magazine to write a piece on Rush's selection as one of Time's "100 Most Influential People"
Rush Limbaugh By Glenn Beck
For some of us, being a media personality just isn't as easy as it used to be. The theory goes that to build a large audience in this age of iPhones, podcasts and whatever the latest buzzword is, you have to do everything at once — and that means simultaneously host a radio program, host a TV show, write books and tour the country. Even Barack Obama had to hold a press conference, go on 60 Minutes, talk to Jay Leno and post clips on YouTube within the span of one week just to get people to pay attention to his budget.
But not Rush Limbaugh. When Rush wants to talk to America, all he has to do is grab his microphone. He attracts more listeners with just his voice than the rest of us could ever imagine. He is simply on another level.
No matter how many new technologies pop up, nothing will ever surpass the intimacy of radio. And nobody will ever be better at utilizing it than Rush. His consistency, insight and honesty have earned him a level of trust with his listeners that politicians can only dream of. And that is why the more irrelevant critics try to make him, the more relevant he becomes.
Rush, 58, saved the spoken-word radio format from obscurity and paved the way for thousands of broadcasters, including myself. His career serves as the most successful stimulus package in radio history. All without a government dime.
Knowing firsthand just how hard it is to hold an audience's attention for a few hours makes it that much more amazing to have seen Rush do it for more than 20 years. To say that he has set the standard for success in broadcasting would truly be an understatement.
Beck is a television and radio talk-show host and a No. 1 New York Times best-selling author. Fast Fact: Limbaugh says he likes to start every day with a strong cigar!!
