This'n'That; November Thirtieth #2; JFK, Again

Yet Another 'JFK' Conspiracy!
While wandering around the internet trying to find stuff for my previous entry about contemplated IRA, 401k, 403b seizures, I found this:
http://politicalvelcraft.org/2011/04/19/jfk-killed-just-days-after-shutting-down-rothschilds-fed-reserve-in-1963-secret-memo-shows-president-signed-executive-orders-eo-11-and-eo-110/
If you're inclined to read it all, plus all the links involved, it very well may turn into "an all-day affair!"
In any case, enjoy!

This'n'That; November Thirtieth #1; Watch Out!!

Your PRIVATE Retirement Funds WILL Go Away
If "Clown Prince" obama and his minions have their way, the federal government will CONFiSCATE your IRAs, 401ks, 403bs, and other private monies you and I were smart enough to invest for the future!!  This has been in the planning stages AT LEAST since "Clown Prince" obama's 2008 'Campaign of Fluff;' thusfar, no one has had the balls to attempt it.
The most recently proposed government Ponzi Scheme, the "GRA" system, I can find is dated October 8, 2010:
In a nutshell, under the GRA system government would seize private 401(k) accounts, setting up an additional 5% mandatory payroll tax to dole out a “fair” pension to everyone using that confiscated money coupled with the mandated contributions. This would, of course, be a sister government ponzi scheme working in tandem with Social Security, the primary purpose being to give big government politicians additional taxpayer funds to raid to pay for their out-of-control spending.
Just the day before [10/07/2010], Ross Eisenbrey successfully proved that the folks working in some think-tanks are just as incompetent as the "Clown Prince" they seek to impress through equality of ineptness!!
Mr Eisenbrey testified before the equally incompetent U.S. Senate:
"I have three main points to make in this testimony today:
1. Congress has made matters worse by focusing retirement policy on high-income households and neglecting low-income workers;
2. Congress and the Obama Administration will make matters even worse if they raise the Social Security retirement age; and
3. There are potential solutions to the retirement crisis, but tweaks and small changes at the margins won’t be enough."
This has to be the largest pile of bullshit to keep resurfacing every cuppla' years.  I was involved in a corporate 401k when I was in the manufacturing sector, then involved in IRAs as a self-employed carpenter-cabinetmaker; then as a truck driver.  I have yet to encounter the bullshit the aforementioned articles say are the multitude of problems associated with both programs.  The 'GRA system' is just another Social Security-esque Ponzi Scheme to be freely raided as GRA funds are deposited in the 'general fund.'

"Clown Prince" obama should not bear the entire brunt of this scheme to legally--once the Congress writes the law, slanted toward confiscation--steal the commoners' private retirement funds.  This has been going on in some form since "Slick-Willie" Clinton, and possibly before.  Therein lies the kerfuffle:  can anyone point to a government agency; a government department, a quasi-government organization that's run at a break-even point, and is fraud-free?!?  I think not!
Take for instance, the U.S. Postal Service.  The Post Office recorded recent losses of $15.9 Billion (2012), $5.1 Billion (2011) and $5.8 Billion (2010).  It's been forecasted to have annual losses of $18.5Billion by 2015 if Congress doesn't address the important issues.  Remember the federal government--ultimately the Congress--runs Freddie Mac , Fannie Mae and Sally Mae.  See how efficiently they're run, right?!?  Can we expect the Congress to put the confiscated private retirement funds in a 'lock-box' for preservation?  I'm sure they will, much like the Social Security revenues.  The funds will stay in the 'lock-box' until the Congress--again, like the Social Security funds--finds some place to piss 'em away!!
The aforementioned GRA confiscation plans will likely take place during the second "Clown Prince" obama Regime, as directed by The Bilderberg Group.  Both are finally realizing the unlikelyhood of the national debt EVER BEING REPAID.  The national debt (currently-$16.301 TRILLION) debacle will--and does--directly affect the country's credit rating, hence the Congressional borrowing power.  The Executive Branch--as demanded by The Bilderberg Group--will order private retirement funds seizure to preclude their socio-fascist form of government collapsing in upon itself.  The prevention of said inward collapse will allow the Congress to continue to borrow form outside sources; China, Russia, India, et al!!
Remember: Socialism works really, really well until the Congress runs out of OUR MONEY!!
[Thank Margaret Thatcher (former British Prime Minister) for that adapted sentiment]

This'n'That; November Twenty-Nineth #1; Taxes-AGAIN!

The "Why" Of Buffett's Tax Proposal
The "Oracle of Omaha" has proposed income tax alternatives which HE thinks the negotiators should consider.  Mr Buffett is being a bit disingenuous in his proposal....  he speaks of income taxes while HIS annual compensation falls under the 'dividends and interest' portion of the IRS Tax Code.
    The aforementioned 'alternatives:'
Warren Buffett is suggesting in his proposal for higher taxes on the wealthiest of Americans-a minimum rate of 30% (those earning $1M+) and 35% (those earning $10M+).

The Buffett 'suggestion' continues with a $500,000 defined threshold of 'rich millionaires and billionaires' rather than the "Clown Prince's" $250,000; saying that
"....in some parts of the country, $250,000 barely convers a middle-class lifestyle."
[Here's where Warren Buffett misses "Clown Prince" obama's point.  The "Clown Prince" has no inclination what-so-ever in allowing the average citizen to ever advance in 'class.']
Let's see how Mr Buffett's obfuscations affect his hypothetical 'income' taxes vs his actual taxes.
It's a given that Mr Buffett's current annual compensation is $100,000.
It's a given that Mr Buffett's current annual compensation is completely derived from dividends his portion of Berkshire-Hathaway generates.
If Mr Buffett's $100,000 compensation were actually subject to income taxes, after allowable deductions his rate would be 39.12995%!!  Because his compensation is entirely derived from dividends Mr Buffett is taxed essentially at 15%.  There are several different reasons for and levels of, the unearned income (dividends and interest-capital gains) tax rates.  This is why Mr Buffett--during the most recent tax year--paid a 17.7% rate.
One fact all the socio-fascists are ignoring:
Higher taxes do not equal higher revenue (here and here)!

This'n'That; November Twenty-Eighth #1; Gun Ban!

Second Reign: obama To Ban Dozens More Guns!!
Those of us who consider ourselves conservatives, constitutionalists, libertarians, et al, knew this was coming; just a matter of time.  If you were asleep and really didn't see the ban coming-read here and here!  The--most recently edited--obama gun ban list has been released and it's more devastating to the Second Amendment than any previous ban-list!!
The Bilderberg Group, the group's avowed-communist mouthpiece--and designated obama handler--Valarie Jarrett, as well as "Clown Prince" obama himself, have the ultimate objective of scrapping the Second Amendment completely!!  If you haven't augmented your arms and ammunition stocks, NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT!!  I continue to buy what I can afford, whether it's weapons or ammo.
The 'powers-that-be' ain't even tryin' to disguise it: the second Bilderberg Group reign, with 'frontman-child,' "Clown Prince" obama, as directed by the aforementioned avowed communist-Valerie Jarrett; will be a complete destruction of the United States Constitution, one amendment at a time, 'til the whole thing is in the 'trash-can' of history.
Can we agree that--if they vote at all--the street thugs; general miscreants; gang participants, are members of 'the taker-class?'  As such, they voted for any upcoming gun-ban legislation.  Smart move!  The honest, law-abiding American will not be allowed:
"....the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
One need only to look at the U.K., Canada, Australia, Israel among others to see the affects of severely restricting private ownership of guns.
Israel has a private registered gun ownership rate of 5.98 guns per 100 citizens.
Israel--in 2008--had 61 firearm homicides which equates to 0.83 firearm homicides per 100,000 citizens, with nearly the same numbers (both categories) for Israeli firearm suicides.
But.... Israel is the exception--by a wide margin--to the rule.  One should check the U.K. and Australia's firearm-crime statistics to see the actual 'rule.'
In the United Kingdom--after their gun ban legislation--the crime nearly doubled: 1998/99-5,209 gun offenses, compared to 2007/08-9,865 gun offenses!!  With fewer LEGAL guns!!
In Australia--actually only the State of Victoria considered--after the federal firearm ban (of 1996): 1996-just 7 firearm homicides; 1997 a whoppin' 19 firearm homicides for an increase of 171%!!  In one year!!
The Bilderberg Group WITH "Clown Prince" obama want the United States' gun laws to be far more restricted than any of the aforementioned countries!
You're getting what you voted for!!

This'n'That; November Twenty-Seventh #2; GUNS!

2012 Black Friday Gun Sales.... Huge!!
Black Friday's federal background checks--required for gun sales--were 20% higher (154,873) as compared to the same day, last year (129,166).
Rick Lozier-store manager; Van Raymond Outfitters (Brewer, Maine):

"Sometimes it would take 10 minutes to get through and sometimes it was 20.  It ws pretty much all day long.  We still had a good day considering the holdups."

Adam Copp-President; Howell's Guns and Archery Center (Gray, Maine):

"We had an awful time getting through all day, and sometimes we couldn't get through.  I don't know what the problem was.  They set a record last Black Friday,so I figured it had something to do with that.  We had people waiting and some said, 'I can wait all day,' and left.  We may have lost a couple of sales, but we got everything through by Saturday morning.  It was the busiest day we've had all fall."

Greg Ebert-Salesman; Guns Galore (Killeen, Texas):
"We're just a three-person operation here.  Women are increasingly represented in daily store traffic.  Women have taken a strong interest in shooting sports, I think they see target shooting and other shooting sports as another form of relaxation."

    Whew!!  I'm kind'a thinkin':
"Ya never know what the election--or in this case, the re-immaculation--of a communist; a socialist; a fascist; a Marxist; a Stalinist; a Leninist; an Alinskyite, will bring."

Where Did "Bungalow Bill" Go?
Every morning--'bout this time--I wake up the squirrels and start the computer.
Every morning--'bout this time--"Bungalow Bill" pops up on my blog's dashboard.
NOT SO TODAY!!  Every "Bungalow Bill" entry has the same response:

"Sorry, the blog at bungalowbillscw.blogspot.com has been removed. This address is not available for new blogs. Did you expect to see your blog here?"

The author wasn't a bit shy about telling us what's on his mind; the very reason I started reading him.
Did "Clown Prince" obama have the blog taken down?!?
Did 'protection of the masses'--one facist policy "Bill" campaigned against--force the takedown?!?
Anyone know ANYTHING?
"Bill's" blog has been quoted by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, many others in conservative talk radio as well as many of his fellow bloggers.

This'n'That; November Twenty-Sixth #1; obamapoverty

As Goes California, So Goes The Nation
Remember that phrase? It was one response to unleaded gasoline; one response to clean-air standards; one response to ethanol laced gasoline.  The entire list would take several pages.  The phrase now applies to family, individual, child, poverty.
Nearly one-quarter of California's population is now below the poverty level.  The state is experiencing REVERSE immigration; the illegal aliens are now seeking 'greener pastures' in states like Arizona, Texas and other border--and non-border--states.  The only municipality close to California (23.5% in poverty) is the District of Corruption with 23.2% of it's folks below the poverty line.  Next is the State of Florida with 19.5%.
Whom can the citizens of California blame besides themselves?!?  They went along with Governor "Moonbeam" Brown and his socialist proposal to raise sales- and income taxes.  Said proposal raised state sales tax a quarter-point to 7.5%; raised income taxes on the "obama-rich (over $250k)" folks.  Those fortunate enough to earn $1+Million....
(are ya listenin' Leonardo DiCaprio {$77M}, Johnny Depp {$50M}, Adam Sandler {$40M}, Will Smith {$36}, Tom Hanks {$35M}, Ben Stiller {$34M}, Mark Wahlberg {$28M}, Tim Allen {$22M} and Tom Cruise {$22M}.)
....will be taxed at the 13.3% rate, the highest state-rate in the obama Realm!!
This is where the saying comes in:  Both "Clown Prince" obama and Speaker of the House John Boehner are set to negotiate the on-going rape of the 50+% of Americans who actually pay federal income taxes.  Now we experience the primary reason for keeping baracka Claus (listen here and here) on his throne.  Somebody's gotta pay for all that 'free-stuff!!'  They need but to follow my tax-policy suggestions!!

What The National Pamphleteers Don't Report:
obama Fired Military Officers Because He 'Fears a Coup'
by "Sorcha Faal,"
reaganiterepublicanresistance.blogspot.com
November 21, 2012
According to (shadowy anonymous blogger) Sorcha Faal the Russian military's GRU foreign intelligence unit presented a report to Kremlin leadership late last month that said Obama removed one of the United States Navy’s most powerful admirals from his command (in the wake of Benghazi 9/11) specifically because he fears a military coup is being planned against him.
On 9/11/2012, that officer -Rear Admiral Charles M. Gaouette, commander of Carrier Strike Group Three in the Middle East- apparently felt obligated to come to the aid of besieged US defenses at the Benghazi consulate, violating an utterly bewildering White House command he probably had a hard time believing was even being made. Gaouette was said to be attempting to help AFRICOM commander General Carter Ham, also purged by Obama for violating of an obstinate White House insistence to 'stand down'.
Ham considered himself bound-by-duty to take action, but the story goes that his second-in-command -a likely Obammunist- promptly stepped-right-up and informed him he'd just been 'relieved of his command', effective immediately- General Ham was then physically apprehended/arrested.
Subsequently -and despite Navy claims that he was NOT 'replaced' due to Benghazi- Admiral Gaouette was otherwise inexplicably removed as Carrier Strike Group commander on October 27th... [...]

An Oklahoma teenager In Muskogee, Oklahoma, who pleaded guilty in the tragic death of another teen has been given an interesting sentence: 10 years of church attendance in exchange for not heading to prison. The defendant, Tyler Alred, 17, is not fighting a judge’s mandate, as his lawyer deems the decision both fair and appropriate.

Keep Both Eyes On Your Retirement Funds
by Bob Livingston,
Personal Liberty Digest
November 21, 2012
Americans hold about $17.9 trillion in retirement assets. These are found in the form of 401(k)s, individual retirement accounts and pension funds.
That money is not your own. If it were, you would be able to access it without penalty. But that is not the case. Taxes and onerous fees are tacked on if you take the money when you need it as opposed to when your “benevolent” government masters believe you should have it.
Congress established retirement programs like IRAs and 401(k)s in order to prop up the stock markets for the big banksters and make themselves look good. Americans have been fooled into equating a rising stock market with improving economic conditions. But when it’s propped up under false pretenses (by driving money into the market that would ordinarily be used elsewhere or through massive infusions of fiat currency via bailouts), it is like fool’s gold.
And now some are eyeing those funds as a big [....]

Democracy And Majority Rule
by Dr Walter E, Williams,
creators.com
November 21, 2012
President Barack Obama narrowly defeated Gov. Mitt Romney in the popular vote 51 percent to 48 percent. In the all-important Electoral College, the difference was larger, with Obama winning 303 electoral votes and Romney 206. Let's not think so much about the election's outcome but instead ask: What's so good about democracy and majority rule?
How many decisions in our day-to-day lives would we like to be made through majority rule or the democratic process? How about the decision to watch a football game or "Law and Order"? What about whether to purchase a Chevrolet Volt or a Toyota Prius? Would you like the decision of whether to have turkey or ham for Thanksgiving dinner to be made through the democratic process? Were such decisions made in the political arena, most of us would deem it tyranny.
Democracy and majority rule give an aura of legitimacy and decency to acts that would otherwise be deemed tyranny. Most people would agree that having our decisions on what television shows to watch, what kind of car we'll purchase and what we'll eat for Thanksgiving dinner made through the democratic process is tyranny. Why isn't it also tyranny for the political process to determine decisions such as how much should be put aside out of our paycheck for retirement; whether we purchase health insurance or not; what type of light bulbs we use; or whether we purchase 32- or 16-ounce soda containers?
The founders of our nation held a deep abhorrence for [....]

Killing The Goose
by Dr Thomas Sowell,

November 20, 2012
Killing the goose that lays the golden egg is one of those old fairy tales for children which has a heavy message that a lot of adults should listen to. The labor unions which have driven the makers of Twinkies into bankruptcy, potentially destroying 18,500 jobs, could have learned a lot from that old children's fairy tale.
Many people think of labor unions as organizations to benefit workers, and think of employers who are opposed to unions as just people who don't want to pay their employees more money. But some employers have made it a point to pay their employees more than the union wages, just to keep them from joining a union.
Why would they do that, if it is [....]

Washington Post Admits that the Obama Recovery Has Been Terrible
by Daniel J. Mitchell,
townhall.com
November 20, 2012
I agree that Obama inherited a crappy economy, and I think it is silly to assert that he bears any responsibility for the severity of the 2007-2009 recession.
But it is very fair to hold him responsible for what’s happened since the recession ended. I’ve cited data from the Minneapolis Federal Reserve on both employment and gross domestic product to show that Obama has presided over the weakest recovery in the post-World War II period.  And I think it is fair to blame Obama for the economy’s anemic performance during that time, largely because his agenda of faux stimulus and Obamacare exacerbated the statist policies of Bush. In other words, he promised “hope” and “change,” but delivered more of the same.
Well, now that the election is over, even the Washington Post is willing to admit that Obama’s economic performance is dismal. Here’s a remarkable chart showing that growth is far below the [....]

The EPA vs. State Economies
by Marlo Lewis,
nationalreview.com
November 19, 2012
On Friday, the Environmental Protection Agency rejected petitions from the governors of Georgia, Texas, Arkansas, Delaware, Maryland, New Mexico, and North Carolina to suspend the biofuel-blending requirements established by the federal renewable fuel standard (RFS) program.  This program requires refiners to blend increasing quantities of biofuel — mostly corn ethanol — into the nation’s motor-fuel supply. The 2012 target is to blend 13.2 billion gallons of biofuel into our gasoline, a quantity that ratchets up to 13.8 billion gallons in 2013. This year, about 4.7 billion bushels, or 40 percent of the nation’s corn crop, will be consumed by ethanol manufacturing. The governors contend that the RFS program, combined with the worst drought in 50 years, pushed corn prices to record highs, harming their states’ poultry, beef, pork, and dairy producers, who use corn as animal feed. The Clean Air Act authorizes [,,,]

Mason Jar Goblets
by Doug Fuson,
dougswood.blogspot.com
November 21, 2012
I turned two Mason Jar Goblets for the People's Choice table at the Olbrich Show in October. One attendee liked them and bought them at the show. She also asked me to make some more for her, so I did, and they went out in today's mail. The new four are quite like the originals, though not exact copies (I worked from general dimensions and a photo).
I didn't have any more of the dark brown laminated birch that I'd turned the original bases from, so I turned the bases from some walnut limbs I had on my shelf. The finish is an undercoat of Watco Walnut Danish Oil, topped with several coats of high gloss Waterlox. The turned bases on the larger goblets are 4" high, 2 15/16"D at the bottom and 1"D at the top; on the smaller, 3 ¼"H, 2 7/16"D at the bottom, and ¾"D at the top.
[More photos at Doug's site]
{Blogger Note:  From the photos I've seen, Mr Fuson is an artisan; a true master craftsman!!  I'll even bet he'd make you something, for a price of course.}

So What If Taxing Rich Hurts the Economy?
by Larry Elder,
townhall.com
November 22, 2012
Consider this headline from a Reuters article in The Huffington Post: "Raising Taxes on Rich Won't Hurt Economic Growth, CBO Says."
But the first paragraph refutes the headline: "Allowing income tax rates to rise for wealthy Americans would not hurt U.S. economic growth much (emphasis added) in 2013 ..." The CBO did not say, as the headline suggests, that raising taxes on the rich has no negative economic effect. In fact, the CBO actually said that extending the Bush-era rates for all would increase economic growth by 1.5 percent. If, however, the Bush era rates expired for the rich -- but were retained for everybody else -- economic growth would still increase, but by 1.25 percent.
In other words, raising taxes would result in less economic activity, not more. Herein lies the key to understanding why the left wants higher taxes for "the rich." To the rich-should-pay-more crowd, the question of whether raising taxes hurts economic growth is less important than the issue of "fairness."
Then-presidential candidate Barack Obama, in 2008, was asked why he insisted on pushing a capital gains tax increase given that, historically, higher capital gains rates meant less revenue: [....]

Petraeus Scandal Diverts Focus From Benghazi Cover-Up
by Diana West,
townhall.com
November 22, 2012
I think I know what David Petraeus is thankful for this week.
Even though it appears the former CIA director lied to the House Intelligence Committee on Sept. 14, and may have lied again to the same committee on Nov. 16, he is starting to slip out of the inner ring of Benghazi cover-up suspects. We are losing sight of his official role in the deception as the media lens ossifies over a tawdry love triangle. For this, he must be thankful. Maybe to ensure the good fortune continues, Petraeus has hired Bob Barnett, the $975-per-hour Washington superlawyer to officials with issues and/or big book deals, to manage what reports call Petraeus' "transition to civilian life."
Here, for the record, is what the media and politicians are letting slip away with him.
After Petraeus appeared before the House Intelligence Committee on Sept. 14 to brief members behind closed doors on the Benghazi attack of Sept. 11, the ranking Democrat on the committee, Maryland Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, gave ABC an account of the briefing.
"In the Benghazi area," Ruppersberger said, "in the beginning we feel that it was spontaneous -- the protest -- because it went on for two or three hours, which is very relevant, because if it was something that was planned, they could have come and attacked right away. At this point, it looks as if [....]

Rand Paul Continues Indefinite Detention Fight
by Sam Rolley,
Personal Liberty Digest
November 19, 2012
Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) filibustered a vote on the Defense Authorization Act in an attempt to get Congress to vote on his amendment affirming the Constitution’s 6th Amendment to ensure Americans are protected against indefinite military detention.  The Paul Amendment would ensure that any American citizen being held by the military is granted the right of trial by a jury of peers and the right to confront witnesses against him.

What The National Pamphleteers Don't Report:
A Letter from Hobby Lobby Stores CEO
By David Green,
the founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.
November 24,2012
When my family and I started our company 40 years ago, we were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature picture frames. Our first retail store wasn’t much bigger than most people’s living rooms, but we had faith that we would succeed if we lived and worked according to God’s word. From there, Hobby Lobby has become one of the nation’s largest arts and crafts retailers, with more than 500 locations in 41 states. Our children grew up into fine business leaders, and today we run Hobby Lobby together, as a family.
We’re Christians, and we run our business on Christian principles. I’ve always said that the first two goals of our business are (1) to run our business in harmony with God’s laws, and (2) to focus on people more than money. And that’s what we’ve tried to do. We close early so our employees can see their families at night. We keep our stores closed on Sundays, one of the week’s biggest shopping days, so that our workers and their families can enjoy a day of rest. We believe that it is by God’s grace that Hobby Lobby has endured, and he has blessed us and our employees. We’ve not only added jobs in a weak economy, we’ve raised wages for the past four years in a row. Our full-time employees start at 80% above minimum wage.
But now, our government threatens to [....]

Job Creators Not Invited.... Again!!
by Charles Payne,

November 14, 2012
For all the talk of saving the middle class, President Obama is using the same old script that dismisses the middle class. With the fiscal cliff looming, and gathering more attention from the public, we are about to get the same dog and pony show that kicked off the first term. "Leaders" from business, labor, and academia will be invited to the White House to chime in on solutions. This is a farce. I suspect it's an attempt to be seen working across the aisle, but the gathering is no different than the so-called Jobs Council that rarely met, and did nothing to create jobs.
President Obama dismisses 3% of small businesses directly hit with his ideal tax rates; however, he can't dismiss the fact that they generate 50% of all small business profits, and 40% of hiring. (We heard how GM, with only 60,000 American employees, saved the entire auto industry, but can't get honest about collateral damage that will be done choking off successful small businesses.) I consider a business with 500 or less employees to be small, but let's take a look at those with 50 or less, and see the economic impact via job hiring over the past year. Overall, these businesses generated 713,000 jobs according to ADP. Where would the unemployment number be without them?
Where would Barack Obama be without them? [....]

Over the next four years, President Barack Obama will try to implement more sweeping changes in America, this time under the pretense of saving the Earth.
In 2009, the President slammed Obamacare down America’s throat. In 2013, it will be Obamagreen — with all the pitfalls of higher taxation, a repressed economy and greater power in the hands of Washington.

Secession And Other Fantasies
by Michael Medved,

November 21, 2012
Some fringe conservatives seem perversely determined to turn a stinging electoral defeat into an epic, sweeping disaster. That’s the deeper meaning of current talk about impeachment, secession, third parties, civil disobedience, and onrushing apocalypse.
The Conservative Majority Fund has announced a new robocall campaign to build support for impeaching President Obama over mishandling of the affair in Benghazi, Libya, and alleged malfeasance on a host of other issues. Meanwhile, petitions demanding the secession of Texas, Alabama, and at least a half dozen other states have already gathered tens of thousands of signatures, while perennial presidential candidate Alan Keyes describes the right to secede as God-given and inviolate.
Radio host and conspiracy-monger Alex Jones also has committed himself to mobilizing national backing for the secession movement, while retiring Congressman Ron Paul (another perennial presidential contender) identifies today’s secessionists not with the doomed Confederates who precipitated the bloodiest war in the nation’s history, but with the [....]

Hotels And Hassles
by Dr Thomas Sowell,
creators.com
November 19, 2012
Few things can make you appreciate home like staying in a hotel. This includes not only low-budget, bare bones hotels but also sweepingly large and ornate luxury hotels. What many hotels seem to have in common are needless hassles.  Since most people who stay in hotels do so while traveling, and stay only a few days in a given hotel, you might think that those who run hotels would want to make it easy for someone who arrives a little tired (or a lot tired) from traveling to use the various devices they find in their hotel room. But you would be wrong. That thought never seems to have crossed their minds.
Recently, at a well-known luxury hotel in Los Angeles, I found that something as simple as turning on a television set can require a phone call to the front desk, and then waiting for the arrival of a technician. Then it took another phone call to get a list of which of the dozens of channels were for which networks.  Why the turning on of a television set should be anything other than [....]

Election Means Censorship Continues
by Bill Tatro,

November 20, 2012
Sadly, Barack Hussein Obama has been re-elected.
Nevertheless, with the election in the rearview mirror, I had sincere hope that all of us would finally be the recipients of truthful information, but alas, I was wrong. In spite of Hardball host Chris Matthew’s attack regarding Jack Welch’s tweet, the common sense of most individuals tells them that people are not being put back to work and the economy isn’t recovering, as Obama has claimed. Yes, it’s all smoke and mirrors.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Census Bureau, and the Commerce Department have all massaged, manipulated, and stretched every economic detail made under their wing. If an unemployment rate needed to be lower, just disregard a certain group. If the number of jobs created [....]

Revenge Of The Mediterranian Man
by Michale Knox Beran,
nationalreview.com
November 19, 2012
In antiquity the Mediterranean peoples despised the yokels of northern Europe. The “masters of the fairest and most wealthy climates of the globe,” Gibbon says, “turned with contempt from gloomy hills assailed by the winter tempest, from lakes concealed in a blue mist, and from cold and lonely heaths, over which the deer of the forest were chased by a troop of naked barbarians.” The barbarians avenged this contempt when, coming down from the northern forests, they sacked the Mediterranean cities. Yet the northern man — whether Goth, Visigoth, or Vandal — was willing to learn from the Mediterranean man whose sanctuaries he despoiled. Having destroyed the Roman Empire, he was civilized by the Roman Church.
With his new cultural tools, the northern man built up a civilization of his own, one that surpassed, in worldly treasure, the Mediterranean civilization he had plundered. In the Reformation, the northern peoples [....]

Getting A Read On Rand Paul
by James Bovard,
theamericanconservative.com
November 20, 2012
With Ron Paul’s exit from Congress, his senator son, Rand Paul, is now the great hope of many conservatives and libertarian-leaning activists. Senator Paul has done superb work challenging the Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act. He is seeking to burnish his bona fides with a new book, Government Bullies.
This volume will tell you all you ever wanted to know about federal wetlands policy, which is discussed exhaustively in the book’s first hundred pages. The Army Corps of Engineers, the EPA, and other agencies have trampled property owners’ rights time and again on the most arbitrary and unjustified pretexts. Similarly, Government Bullies contains extensive discussions of the government’s abuses of farmers, small businessmen, a guitar manufacturer, and other likeable victims. While Government Bullies thrashes federal bureaucracies despised by conservatives, the book avoids controversial subjects. And it repeats the myth of Flight 93, which President Bush [....]

Let obama Be obama
by Victor Davis Hanson,
townhall.com
November 22, 2012
After his party's devastating setback in the 2010 midterm elections, Barack Obama was re-elected earlier this month by painting his Republican opponents as heartless in favoring lower taxes for the rich. They were portrayed as nativists for opposing the Dream Act amnesty for illegal immigrants, and as callous in battling the federal takeover of health care.
Republicans countered with arguments that higher taxes on the employer class hurt the economy in general. They assumed most voters knew that amnesties are euphemisms for undermining federal law and in the past have had the effect of promoting more illegal immigration. They tried to point out that there is no such thing as free universal health care, since Obamacare will only shift responsibility from health care practitioners and patients to inefficient government bureaucracies and hide the true costs with higher taxes.
And they utterly failed to convince the American people of any of that.
Why doesn't the Republican-controlled House of Representatives give both voters and President Obama what they wished for? The current battle over [...]

Marco Rubio: A Hispanic Reagan?
by Cal Thomas,

November 22, 2012
Conservatives have been dreaming that a political reincarnation of Ronald Reagan would lead them to an electoral promised land. I never put my faith in such a possibility, because the past is a dangerous place in which to live. Reagan never lived in the past, though he learned from it.  Yet among the contemporary political figures that closely represent the substance and style that made Ronald Reagan who he was is Senator Marco Rubio, Florida Republican.
At a fundraising event for Iowa Governor Terry Branstad last Saturday, Rubio touched all the Reagan bases and focused on solutions, not just a recitation of well-known problems. Probably his best line of the evening was, "The way to turn our economy around is not by making rich people poorer. It's by making poor people richer."
In this, he resembled Reagan's favorite president, Calvin Coolidge, who said, "Don't expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong."  Rubio also seemed to suggest that conservatism is larger than the Republican brand, which has become tainted in some minds. He said, "This is not about the Republican Party. This is about limited government conservatism." While he said the Republican Party "is the home of that movement," he seemed to suggest that it is not necessarily its permanent residence.  Rubio also displayed [....]

Get Started In Shooting
by Thomas Miller,
Personal Liberty Digest
November 19, 2012
A major component of modern survivalism and most preppers’ survival philosophy includes owning firearms. The practice of having firearms can aid in personal defense and the defense of loved ones and property, and offers the ability to hunt for food. What can be difficult, though, is getting a start in shooting when you were not raised in an environment where firearms and the shooting sports were a part of life. Guns can be intimidating and, therefore, often cause apprehension and sometimes outright discomfort when considering the option of taking the first step toward getting started in shooting. Consider these questions when getting started in shooting.

Soaring Toward Totalitarianism
by Mike Adams,

November 19, 2012
(Some time in the not-too-distant future at a public university near you).
Good morning, everyone.
My name is Dean Crawler and I would like to welcome everyone to new staff training here in the Dean of Student's Office at the University of Neo-Communism in Wonderland, or UNCW. I wish to welcome all returning Deans, Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, and Adjunct Deans as well. They say it takes a village to raise a child. One could say that it takes a fiefdom to raise a generation. Of course, we prefer to avoid references to Western civilization here at UNCW. We are soaring to greatness. And that means leaving past traditions behind. Even an Adjunct Dean of Diversity knows that. No offense or disrespect intended.
Our training today will focus on four new programs that will help us gain control over student dissidents in an effort to assure the smooth operation of the university. Diversity and tolerance are very complex concepts. And sometimes rigid conformity is needed to ensure their full realization. I would appreciate it if everyone would give her, his, its, or undecided's full attention while I explain these new programs:
1. No administrator left behind. We have decided to add a few new positions to help with our ever increasing workload. We will add a new Dean of Noise Complaints this semester. As you know, students often have parties off campus that result in noise complaints. We have partnered with local police to set up a system whereby all noise complaints received by police are channeled into the university administrative structure. When police answer a noise complaint off campus, we soon find out. Then we will call the student into the Dean's Office and interrogate him, her, it, or undecided concerning the alleged violation. Each violation will be recorded by the Dean's Office and will be placed in the student's permanent record. If the student complains loudly in response to interrogation, the Dean of Noise Complaints will then file a separate [....]

What The National Pamphleteers Don't Report:
Disaster Ignorance
by Dr Walter E. Williams,

November 13, 2012
Here's a which-is-better question for you. Suppose a New Jersey motel room rented for $125 a night prior to Hurricane Sandy's devastation. When the hurricane hits, a husband, wife and their two youngsters might seek the comfort of renting two adjoining rooms. However, when they arrive at the motel, they find that rooms now rent for $250. At that price, they might decide to make do with one room. In my book, that would be wonderful. That decision would make a room available for another family who had to evacuate Sandy's wrath. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and others condemn this as price gouging, but I ask you: Which is preferable for a family seeking shelter — a room available at $250 or a room unavailable at the pre-hurricane price of $125? It's not the intention of the motel owner to make a room available for another family. He just sees an opportunity to earn more money. It was not the intention of the family of four who made do with just one room to make a room available for another evacuating family. They are just trying to save money. Even though it was no one's intention to make that room available, the room was made available as if intended. That's the unappreciated benefit of freely fluctuating prices. They get people to do voluntarily what's in the social interest — conserve on goods and services that have become scarce.

The Horrors Of FEMA 'Relief;'
by Chuck Norris,

November 20, 2012

"The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.'"President Ronald Reagan

Those wise and yet haunting words spoken by one of our nation's greatest presidents couldn't ring more true — especially today, as winter sets in on an estimated 130,000 of our fellow Americans who are still struggling without power. Many live without heat, hot water or inhabitable homes and question the government's efforts to alleviate their condition.
Amid the election frenzy, several mainstream media outlets instantly praised the Obama administration's response to the Hurricane Sandy devastation in the Northeast. But let's look beneath the congratulatory headlines to see the real and horrifying picture of what's happening.
Right now, homeless Americans are literally freezing, wrapped in blankets and trash bags as they struggle to survive in FEMA tent cities such as New Jersey's "Camp Freedom," which reportedly "resembles a prison camp."
"Sitting there last night, you could see your breath," displaced resident Brian Sotelo told the Asbury Park Press. "At (Pine Belt), the Red Cross made an announcement that they were sending us to permanent structures up here that had just been redone, that had washing machines and hot showers and steady electric, and they sent us to tent city. We got (expletive)."
Sotelo said Blackhawk helicopters patrol the skies "all day and night," and a black car with tinted windows surveys the camp while the government moves heavy equipment past the tents at night. According to the story, reporters aren't even allowed in the fenced complex, where lines of displaced residents form outside portable toilets. Security guards are posted at every door, and residents can't even use the toilet or shower without first presenting ID.

The People VS The Unions: Cash, Credit And Corruption

While it’s a truism that for every finger you point at someone else you’ve got three pointed right back at you, for liberals it’s part of their laws of physics.
It would be impossible for the laws of liberals to govern without this binding hypocrisy that keeps them in orbit.
That’s why it shouldn’t surprise you that for all the leftist rhetoric about corporations and greed contributing the decline of the country, there’s one corporate outfit that’s really screwing up this country- and it’s a creation and a creature of the left.
Like most Big Left organizations it is a corporate body that is funded by you and I, but serves only the holy trinity of liberals, leftists and liars.
That corporation is, of course, Union, Inc.

Witnesses say masked gunmen have publicly executed six “suspected collaborators” with Israel at a busy Gaza City intersection. The Hamas military wing claimed responsibility. Witnesses said the six men were pulled out of a van Tuesday, then forced to lie face down on the street and shot dead. The bodies then laid in a pile as a mob stomped and spit on them. A sixth body was tied to a motorcycle and dragged through the streets as people screamed, “Spy! Spy!”

Constraints Facing The Next Mexican President
by Scott Stewart,

November 22, 2012
Enrique Pena Nieto will be sworn in as Mexico's next president Dec. 1. He will take office at a very interesting point in Mexican history. Mexico is experiencing an economic upturn that may become even more pronounced if Pena Nieto's Institutional Revolutionary Party administration is able to work with its rivals in the National Action Party to enact needed reforms to Mexico's labor, financial and energy laws.
Another arrestor to further expanding Mexico's economy has been the ongoing cartel violence in Mexico and the dampening effect it has had on outside investment and tourism. Pena Nieto realizes that Mexico's economy would be doing even better were it not for the chilling effect of the violence. During his campaign, he pledged to cut Mexico's murder rate in half by the end of his six-year term, to increase the number of federal police officers and to create a new gendarmerie to use in place of military troops to combat heavily armed criminals in Mexico's most violent locations.

Benjamin Netanyahu: Leader of the Free World

There has been much talk of late about America’s “fiscal cliff.” As troubling as our impending (Obama-spurred) economic collapse may be – and it is more troubling than even our most pessimistic economists are willing to admit – I’m even more concerned about fast-mounting tensions worldwide.
As the world government ship of fools drifts unmanned amid a sea of unparalleled global volatility, we, her passengers, behold – brewing on the horizon – an economic and foreign relations “perfect storm.”
As so often is the case, the hurricane swirls around the Middle East.
Historically, the president of the United States has captained the ship. He has, heretofore, been duly regarded “leader of the free world.”
Not now. Not with Gilligan reaching for the helm.
Indeed, the current occupant of the Oval Office spends more time with his feet on JFK’s Resolute desk than he does leading from behind it.

obama Voters: ‘Turn Around and Leave’
by Madeleine Morganstern,
theblaze.com
November 17, 2012
An Arizona gun store has a simple message for Barack Obama voters: you’re not welcome here.
The Southwest Shooting Authority in Pinetop, Ariz. posted a sign on its door and took out a newspaper ad declaring that if you voted for the president last week, you’re not allowed in.
“If you voted for Obama, please turn around and leave! You have proven that you are not responsible enough to own a firearm!” the sign states.
Owner Cope Reynolds conceded that he can’t really tell who voted for Obama unless they “own up to it” — but if they do, they’re out.
“If they don’t say anything, we’ll never know,” Reynolds said in an email to the Phoenix New Times. “However, if they own up to it, we will not serve them.”
He said in an explanation on AmmoLand that he did it to “demonstrate once again that the bottom line for our business is principle, not money. Yes, it has been damaging at times but our values are intact.”
