This'n'That; September Thirtieth [Time;Taxes]

Little Time Left!
Well folks, it's now the last day in September--which means:  Only thrity-two days to wait!!  Now is the time to study the current candidates and incumbents for public office at all levels.  Remember what they say in "Clown Prince" obama's adopted hometown: "Vote early; vote OFTEN!"

New York State Leads Nation!
PROPERTY TAXES!  The scourge of the middleclass--most of whom can ill afford them!  Some statistics I've formulated from http://taxfoundation.org/taxdata/show/1888.html:

  • New York State comprises nine slots in the 'Top Ten,' with the county I live in, Monroe County, LEADING THE WAY!
  • New York counties comprise 14 of the 'Top Twenty.'
  • New York counties comprise 17 of the 'Top Thirty.'
  • New York counties comprise 18 of the 'Top Forty.'
  • New York counties comprise 19 of the 'Top Fifty.'  This last stastic translates to nearly 40 PERCENT of the top fifty greatest taxed counties IN THE UNITED STATES!
Ironically, the lowest five counties in the United States aren't counties, but parishes in the State of Louisiana; Calcasieu, Terrebonne, Rapides, Lafourch and Tangipaho Parishes.

Here are the 'financials' for the top and the bottom county (or parish).  Blogspot does not do well with statistics and charts so I must tell you the order of the information:

  • County;
  • State;
  • Median Property Taxes Paid on Homes;
  • Rank;
  • Median Home Value;
  • Taxes As A %age Of Home Value;
  • Rank;
  • Median Income For Homeowners;
  • Taxes As A %age Of Income;
  • Rank;
But first let's have a 'median' look at the entire United States, using the same order of information:

  • United States; XXXX$1,917XXX;  $185,200;  1.04%XX;  $63,306;  3.0%XX.
And now, the information some will love; some will hate:
  • Monroe; NY$3,89171;  $134,5002.89%1;  $66,369;  5.9%47
  • Tangipaho;  La$172788$134,6000.13%792;  $45,794;  0.4%785
The median home values are virtually identical for Monroe County, N.Y., and Tangipaho Parish, Louisiana.  Monroe County homeowners pay a median $3,719.00 MORE than Tangipaho Parish!  These property tax payments are 5.4% HIGHER as a percentage of income, with Monroe County taxpayers having a 34% GREATER MEDIAN INCOME!!

This'n'That; September Twenty-nineth[Duffy;Bumbling;Counter-Rally]

Rochester, NY Mayor Robert Duffy
Duffy Proves: More Of The Same!
Rochester (N.Y.) Mayor Bob Duffy is proving that--seemingly--the next gubernatorial election will provide more of the same fiscal irresponsibility.  Both the mayor and the city government certainly have not learned from local history to wit:  When the 'Fast Ferry' sham was still in the planning stages, the city sold prime real estate in the Port of Rochester for ONE DOLLAR, to develop food, lounge, waiting facilities for ferry passengers.
Now, Mr Duffy has DOUBLED THE RATE!  The 'Mid-town' facilities in downtown Rochester has been sold for TWO WHOLE BUCKS, to private developers for high-end condos.  At it's inception (1962), Midtown was America's--possibly the world's--FIRST INDOOR SHOPPING MALL.  Duffy in his infinite wisdom, is selling the property--8 acres of prime, city-center, real estate--for a princely Two Dolla Bill.
    Will they ever learn?!?!

The Messiah 0bama
"Clown Prince" obama Goes A'Bumbling!
On Tuesday last, the young "Clown Prince" found himself in someone's backyard in Albuquerque, stumbling and bumbling though what the Handler Group told him Jesus said.  A bumbling, princely quote:
"So I came to my Christian faith later in life and it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead — being my brothers’ and sisters’ keeper, treating others as they would treat me."
The part about Jesus talking about "being my brothers' and sisters' keeper" is not factual--except in the "Clown Prince's" own mind.  It's the basis for the parable of "Cain and Abel;"  Jesus didn't have anything to do with it.  Any 'conversations' were between Cain, Abel and God, to wit:

  • (1) Adam knew his wife Eve intimately, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain. She said, "I have had a male child with the LORD's help."
  • (2) Then she also gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel became a shepherd of a flock, but Cain cultivated the land.
  • (3) In the course of time Cain presented some of the land's produce as an offering to the LORD.
  • (4) And Abel also presented [an offering] — some of the firstborn of his flock and their fat portions.  The Lord had regard for Abel and his offering,
  • (5) but He did not have regard for Cain and his offering. Cain was furious, and he was downcast.
  • (6) Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you furious? And why are you downcast?
  • (7) If you do right, won't you be accepted? But if you do not do right, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must master it."
  • (8) Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field."  And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.    From the Bible's story of Cain and Abel; after Cain had murdered his brother Abel, God asked him where his brother was. Cain answered, I know not; am I my brother's keeper?”  Cain's words have come to symbolize people's unwillingness to accept responsibility for the welfare of their fellows — their “brothers” in the extended sense of the term. The tradition of Judaism and Christianity is that people do have this responsibility.

The "8-28 Restoring Honor" Rally Will Be Minimalized, Vilified
The "8-28 Restoring Honor" rally hosted by Glenn Beck is about to be vilified and minimalized by the thugs, unions, community agitators, paid attendees and and corporate donors who will meet at the "One Nation Working Together" rally in Washington on 10-02.  Previous to this, the "Restoring Honor" was minimalized by the national fascist pamphleteers, with attendance estimates ranging from 13,000 to 87,000.  A far more accurate estimate is 800,000 to ONE MILLION attendees, based on photos of the event and numbers, capacities of the busses involved!
Before the comparisons start one must remember that Mr Beck refused all corporate sponsorship offers.  The "8-28" rally was a charitable event, supporting the  Special Operations Warrior Foundation.  The "8-28" rally was not acknowledged, supported nor attended by anyone in the current regime.  The attendees spent their own money for transportation, lodging and food while at the "8-28" and afterward.
We will have to wait until 'game day,' but the "10-02" rally initially appears to be akin to a "Clown Prince" obama townhall meeting with all the attendees being screened; most of them paid to attend and support the drivel.  The "ONWT" rally is supported by:
  1. Get Equal [gay and lesbian military members]
  2. The Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network
  3. The AFL CIO
  4. The NAACP
  5. The RainbowPUSH Coalition
  6. SEIU
  7. The UAW
  8. Organizing For America  [ACORN]
  9. ANSWER Coalition [Act Now to Stop War and End Racism--a communist group]
  10. The Chicago Democratic Socialists of America
  11. Code Pink
  12. Color Of Change
  13. The Workers World Party  [a revolutionary Marxist, Leninist party found in the 1950s]
  14. The Communist Party USA
  15. The Detroit Democratic Socialists of America
  16. The Youth Leadership and Development for Community Change
  17. Ex Offenders Association of Pennsylvania
  18. The General Board of Church and Society, United Methodist Church
  19. The Humanist party of New York
  20. International Socialist Organization
  21. The interfaith worker justice
  22. The Jewish Funds For Justice
  23. The New York City Democratic Socialists of America
  24. The Peace and Freedom Party
  25. Progressive Congress Action Fund
  26. Progressive Democrats of America
  27. Equal Queers For Economic Justice
  28. Committee of Correspondence For Democracy and Socialism
  29. The United Church of Christ
  30. The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union
  31. The Working Family Party
  32. The Ya Ya Network
  33. The National Baptist Convention
  34. The United Farm Workers of America (UFWA)
This is but 34 of the estimated 300 organizations that have been attracted to support the "ONWT" rally.  THIS rally--unlike "Restoring Honor"--IS SUPPORTED by "Clown Prince" obama and his regime.  Some quotes from our beloved fascist:
  • "‑‑ all across the country and the other side is not fighting back. You've seen special interests align with the Republican party all across the country and they are now spending millions of dollars all across the country against democratic candidates, running tremendously negative ads and the worst about part about it is we don't know exactly who these groups are because of a Supreme Court decision called citizens united"
  • "You now have a situation in which special interests can get millions of dollars in contributions from some of the wealthiest, most powerful interests in the group."
  • "‑‑ and so all of our candidates are getting swamped. Now, given what's at stake, given the fact that the other side has said they want to go back to the exact same agenda that was in place before I took office, having taxes for millionaires and billion heirs even if it adds to our deficit, letting corporate special interests write their own rules, because they want to go back to that agenda, we know that we're going to have to make sure we do well in this election and we are fighting or as candidates as strongly as you fought for me"
Would this rally have ever been considered if there hadn't been a "Restoring Honor" rally to counter?  With the ubiquitous socialist support and the bias of the national pamphleteers,  this rally is almost guaranteed to have a million plus attendees!! This is one of those cases where one can take the measure of a man by 'the company he keeps.'  "Clown Prince" obama continues to surround himself with avowed fascists, marxists, socialists and communists as evidenced by their combined support of "ONWT."  This is the first time in my memory that a sitting president has publically and officially supported a public, partisan, counter-rally.
Imagine the tremendous amount of 'good' Glenn Beck could have done, had he accepted corporate donations and sponsorships!!

The Organizational Secret of the Tea Parties

By J.R. Dunn

American politics has never seen anything quite like the Tea Parties, though few appreciate the revolutionary organizational principle powering the movement. A major reason why the Tea Parties have been so successful, why the political establishment has found them so difficult to combat, lies in their organization.
The Tea Parties comprise a distributed network -- a non-hierarchical system of autonomous nodes with no central control point, and with all nodes possessing the same value and freedom to act independently. A distributed network can be compared to a beehive. All the bees know their particular task and complete it autonomously, without directions from a central authority. If a threat appears, the bees overwhelm it not by direct confrontation, but by swarming, driving it away with sheer force of numbers.
Readers with a background in computer tech will recognize the distributed network as the preferred method of organizing computer networks, including the internet itself. Distributed networks are far less vulnerable to breakdowns and intrusions than hierarchical networks. In a hierarchical network, once the control nodes are knocked out, the system is kaput until they are replaced. In a distributed network, the damage is absorbed by the entire system, with the disabled nodes shut down and operations rerouted to working nodes. As we've seen with the net, this makes the system nearly invulnerable. (No surprise there -- DarpaNet was designed to withstand full-scale nuclear strikes.) Since the net went public, the concept has been adapted in other sectors of society, resulting in similar social and educational networks. It would not be going too far to say that it has become the representative form of organization of the millennial world. As such, it has inevitably found its way into the nation's political life.
Unlike the internet, the organization of the Tea Parties was generated not by design, but spontaneously. The movement began with a television commentary by Rick Santelli on his Chicago-based CNBC business program. Santelli was extremely critical of Obama administration business policies, and he utilized the 1773 Boston Tea Party as a metaphor in calling for resistance against the administration. Although Santelli was ridiculed in the legacy media, something in his commentary touched a chord with the public. Word of it spread among concerned citizens across the country through the net, Twitter, and Facebook. A video of the show went viral. The political establishment ignored it as yet another empty internet fad.  But it was no such thing. The anxiety and anger exposed by Santelli's words found an outlet in that summer's town hall meetings. Long reduced to a method of Rockwellizing an unsavory political establishment, town hall meetings provided an opportunity for politicians to strut in front of constituents, boasting of how many earmarks they'd obtained, how many deals they'd made, how much money was flowing in. The public was expected to listen in quiet gratitude.
But it didn't work that way in 2009. For the first time in years -- decades, in some cases -- the voters had real questions, involving the run-amok policies of Obama and his tame Congress. They wanted to know about the TARP bailouts, the payoffs to the banks, the GM expropriation, and particularly about the pending health-care takeover, possibly the most loathed political action of the past fifty years. But the politicians had no answers. Such an onslaught was totally unprecedented, leaving most representatives nonplussed and overwhelmed. The majority fled from the meetings pursued by waves of voter contempt.  The town hall uprising at last attracted media interest. In customary fashion, media figures were less inclined to learn the facts than to wax frivolous. Members of the new movement were dismissed as "teabaggers," a gay slur introduced by Anderson Cooper. (And a puzzling one -- surely, a "teabagger" is the one who performs the act on a submissive partner. Cooper must have known this. Was he making an indirect reference to the status of politicians vis-à-vis the voters?) The legacy media also attempted to tar the movement with accusations of racism, classism, and xenophobia, portraying the members as snaggle-toothed trailer trash manipulated by clever reactionaries. Nancy Pelosi denounced them as astroturfers.  None of it stuck.
The Tea Parties continued organizing through early 2010, utilizing innovative infotech methodology. (Thank you, Al Gore!) Conservative media, both traditional and online, offered full support (with a few not unexpected Northeastern exceptions). Astute politicians -- Sarah Palin above all -- laid down their markers. The passage of ObamaCare in March served to supercharge the movement. The Tea Parties responded with an effort to recruit and support citizen politicians, for the express purpose of turning the American political structure inside-out. As this is being written, the despised and dismissed Tea Parties have become the major factor in the 2010 midterms. They have wrecked the careers of at least five notable GOP figures and threaten perhaps ten times as many Democrats.
All this has come about with no explicit organization, no leadership, no central committees, no manifesto, no charter, no written plan whatsoever. Santelli played no active role after his original exhortation launched the movement. Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, and other media figures offered support and guidance but in no way acted as ringmasters. The same is true of Sarah Palin, who, while more than a simple figurehead, would likely be the first to admit that she did not act as a leader.
The organization of the Tea Parties, and the effects produced by that organization, are emergent properties, rising out of nowhere with no planning, forethought, or external input, coming into being solely as a result of the exploitation of the available technological substrate by individuals and small groups. And yet this movement has shaken American society and has gone a long way toward overthrowing the reigning political superstructure. This is an astonishing chain of events, one that deserves a lot more analysis than it has yet received.
Military strategists, particularly students of guerrilla warfare and counterinsurgency, will recognize the similarities between the Tea Parties and guerrilla forces along with (to be forthright) terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda. The concept of the guerrilla force as distributed network was formalized by Mao Tse-Tung in the 1930s, when he sent small units of his Eighth Route Army to live in villages alongside the peasantry to serve as protectors and propagandists for the Maoist version of Marxism. The resulting network acted as a formidable basis for resistance against Nationalist forces. The concept was later adapted and bungled by Che Guevara. The jihadis have attempted to construct an equivalent structure with limited success -- you can do only so much with misfits and losers.   The difference is, of course, that the Tea Parties represent democracy in action. Motivation and goals make all the difference. Modern technology allows almost pure democratic activity on an informal basis. The results have been beneficial up until now. We must work to see that they remain so.  I will merely mention that distributed networks have a number of weaknesses, and they can be defeated. I will not go into detail on these matters here.
How will such an informal network convert to a formal political system to replace the innately corrupt kleptocracy that we have today? This, it seems to me, is a necessary evolution to assure that upcoming reforms are not simply shoved aside or undermined once the national political situation returns to normal. This may well turn out to be one of the most profound political questions of our era. It's not one that's going to be answered in a single essay.  Or is it conceivable that the distributed network embodied by the Tea Parties could become a political system in and of itself? This is a tantalizing possibility. In ancient Athens, the citizenry met as a whole to decide critical questions. Could such a system return in our day, with the net and Twitter and Facebook replacing the Athenian agora? How would this function in relation to established constitutional principles? How, under such circumstances, do we preserve the safeguards of representative government?
In an insightful scene in The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Victor Hugo has an archdeacon look up from a copy of a printed Bible to the cathedral and think, "This will kill that." And so it happened -- mass literacy, cheap books, and the vernacular wrecked, both for good and ill, the closed, hierarchical, yet secure medieval world. Today we look up from our Blackberries and iPods to the Capital, and think the same thing.  And what will come of that?

"Clown Prince" Weekly Blather; September Twenty-Fifth

A Patriotic Response To The "Clown Prince;" 09/25/2010

Weekly Address

September 25, 2010

This week, the economists who officially decide when recessions start and end declared the recession of 2008 to be over. But if you’re one of the millions of Americans who lost your home, your job, or your savings as a consequence of the recession, this news is of little comfort or value.  Yes, the economy is growing instead of shrinking, as it was in 2008 and the beginning of 2009. We’re gaining private sector jobs each month instead of losing 800,000, as we did the month I took office.  But we have to keep pushing to promote growth that will generate the jobs we need, and repair the terrible damage the recession has done. That’s why I’ve proposed a series of additional steps: accelerated tax breaks for businesses who buy equipment now; a permanent research and development tax break to promote innovation by American companies; and a new initiative to rebuild America’s roads, rails, and runways that will put folks to work and make our country more competitive.
[What I'm not telling you:  While the 0bama Handler Group pushed the National Bureau of Economic Research to report that "The Great Recession" ended in June, 2009; a member of my regime and the country's--possibly the world's--most astute investor disagree. 'Turbo-Tax' Tim Guethner, my Treasury secretary and Warren Buffett both agree that the recession IS NOT over.  Using the NBER's own calculations,  the national income was up an average of 0.3% since June, '09 (though wages actually fell 1.1% while benefits from government programs jumped 4.1%).  In the same period, New Mexico had the largest increase in personal income, 2.2%, thanks to its No. 1 ranking in increased money from government programs.  It's becoming more and more apparent--the 'Tea Partiers' may be on the right track!!  Smaller government with far less spending and across-the-board tax cuts would have been the better path for my regime to have taken (but ya didn't hear that from me!!).  We're not so much gaining jobs as we are having far fewer of the unemployed looking for work--as evidenced by the U-6 unemployment rate of 16.7%!  See, the regime likes to report the U-3 unemployment rate, which at last look, was 9.6%.  For a far more true picture of the dismal labor market, the statistic should be a combined U-3 PLUS U-6 rate which considers ALL THOSE WITHOUT EMPLOYMENT OF ANY KIND.  Neither I nor the 0bama Handler Group will allow this to be the true and official rate, so don't anyone suggest it!!  But, what you'd see as a TRUE unemployment rate should and would be a whoppin' 26.3%!!!  Over one-quarter of all working-age Americans DO NOT have work and CAN NOT find work!!
Our fascist-style tax relief proposals do not and will not stand up under close scrutiny.  What good are accelerated tax breaks for plant and equipment purchases, if those business owners do not have the financial wherewithall to make the intial purchases?!?!  Concerning infrastructure upgrades; I will not support business tax rate reductions which would free up more, much needed funds to implement those repairs and improvements!!  The NUMBER ONE GOAL of this regime is to redistribute America's wealth--preferably worldwide--to those who WILL NOT WORK; from those who toil every day, sometimes SEVEN DAYS A WEEK!]
Taken together with the small business tax cut and lending plan we passed through Congress last week, these steps will help spur jobs in the short run, and strengthen our economy for the long run.  Now, the Republicans who want to take over Congress offered their own ideas the other day. Many were the very same policies that led to the economic crisis in the first place, which isn’t surprising, since many of their leaders were among the architects of that failed policy.  It is grounded in same worn out philosophy: cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires; cut the rules for Wall Street and the special interests; and cut the middle class loose to fend for itself. That’s not a prescription for a better future. It’s an echo of a disastrous decade we can’t afford to relive.
[What I'm not telling youOne of the primary facets of "The Great Recession" was the bursting of the housing bubble.  This 'bubble' was largely created by the "Slick-Willie" Clinton regime in the early 'nineties.   'Slick' and his HUD secretary, Andrew Cuomo forced both Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to loosen their mortgage requirements.  These 'footloose-and-fancy-free' requirements put many, many Americans (and some illegal aliens) into houses far beyond their means; houses that they had no intention of paying for.   The requirement changes were instituted WITHOUT approval of the republicRAT congress in control at the time.  The concept that the 0bama Handler Group and I will not subscribe to is that it's America's millionaires and billionaires who actually create the bulk of U.S. jobs.  We will continue to villify that class of people; pretending to support America's middleclass, "the serf class!"  The regime and the 0bama Handler Group continue to ignore what the 'Tea Partiers' continue to promote:  "The Reagan Era"  one of the country's greatest economic growth periods!!  That would require that we relinquish the added personal control and wealth redistribution measures we've instituted thus far.]
The Republicans in Washington claimed to draw their ideas from a website called “America Speaking Out.” It turns out that one of the ideas that’s drawn the most interest on their website is ending tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas.  Funny thing is, when we recently closed one of the most egregious loopholes for companies creating jobs overseas, Republicans in Congress were almost unanimously opposed. The Republican leader John Boehner attacked us for it, and stood up for outsourcing, instead of American workers.  So, America may be speaking out, but Republicans in Congress sure aren’t listening. They want to put special interests back in the driver’s seat in Washington. They want to roll back the law that will finally stop health insurance companies from denying you coverage on the basis of a preexisting condition. They want to repeal reforms that will finally protect hardworking families from hidden rates and penalties every time they use a credit card, make a mortgage payment, or take out a student loan.
[What I'm not telling you:  While I've chosen but one of Cong Boehner's proposals to whine about--MORE IMPORTANTLY--the 0bama Handler Group, the obamacRAT party, the republicRAT party and the leftist fascists nationwide failed to realize the traction the 'Tea Party' movement would gain in a scant 18 months!!  When the 'Tea Party' movement becomes a special interest; the country WILL BE BETTER SERVED with them "in the driver's seat!!"   I'm not going to discuss 0bamaCare here, other than to say; health care costs and health care delivery systems were not the primary considerations; personal control and wealth redistribution were!!]

And for all their talk about reining in spending and getting our deficits under control, they want to borrow another $700 billion, and use it to give tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires. On average, that’s a tax cut of about $100,000 for millionaires.  Instead of cutting taxes for the wealthiest few – tax breaks we cannot afford – I’ve called for tax cuts for middle class families who saw their incomes shrink by five percent during the last, lost decade. We’ve already cut 8 different taxes for small business owners to help them hire and grow, and we’re going to cut 8 more. We’re challenging our states and schools to do a better job educating our kids and making college more affordable so America can once more lead the world in the proportion of our kids graduating from college. And we’re putting an end to the days of taxpayer-funded bailouts so Main Street never again has to pay for Wall Street’s mistakes.
America is a great country. Our democracy is vibrant, our economy is dynamic, and our workers can outcompete the best of them. But the way for us to remain the greatest country on Earth isn’t to turn back the clock and put the special interests in charge. It’s to make sure all our people are getting a fair shake. It’s to make sure everyone who’s willing to work for it still has a chance to reach for the American dream. And that will remain my mission every single day so long as I have the honor of serving as President.
[What I'm not telling you Do you realize my vocal 'slight-of-hand' leaves out the fact the 'borrowing' isn't really 'borrowing,' but a continuation of the tax cuts for all Americans?!?!  Soros forbade me saying this, but I must:  I'm having difficulty continuing to justify this increasingly fascist charade foisted upon my regime by George and the rest of the 0bama Handler Group!! Not that I'm not a fascist; just not to the level they demand.
  • The incomes of middle class families had it's most devastating shrinkage during the last eighteen months--my regime!!
  • The challenge I've issued to states and school disctricts to do a better job educating our children will continue an impossible task until I decide to actually care about educationa and take the financial incentives out and institute quality-based accountability.
  • We may have made college more affordable-but for whom?  Not every high school student is college level quality, nor do they want college.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with a technical education.  With the inclusion of control over student loans in the 0bamaCare bill, we now control who goes to college; which college they go to; which major course of study; how far they go, bachelor's, master's, doctorate.
  • There are--quite possibly--MORE LOBBYISTS working in my regime than any other in recent memory; even after I pledged during my recent "Campaign of Fluff" that lobbyists' control in Washington would come to an end!
  • We're ending taxpayer-funded bailouts, even though my regime encumbered you with the most expensive bailouts in worldwide economic history!!

This'n'That; September Twenty-Fourth [0bamacRATs;Hasman]

0bamacRATs Continue 'Screwing' Public
[I found this on one of the many sites I check on a semi-daily basis.  Eleanor Holmes Norton illustrates the level of superiority the ruling class feels toward the nation, it's laws and the taxpayer.  Here she's arm-twisting a lobbyist for campaign contributions.  Bear in mind, Ms Norton CAN NOT vote on ANY LEGISLATION as an at-large member of the House from the District of Columbia It seems though, Ms Norton can brow-beat someone she's probably conspired with on "pay-back" legislation.]

  • This is, uh, Eleanor Norton, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton. Uh, I noticed that you have given to uh, other colleagues on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. I am a, um, Senior Member, a twenty year veteran and am Chair of the Sub-committee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management. I’m handling the largest economic development project in the United States now, the Homeland Security Compound of three buildings being built on the uh, old St. Elizabeth’s hospital site in the District of Columbia along with uh, fifteen other, uh, sites here for, that are part of the stimulus .
  • I was, frankly, uh, uh, surprised to see that we don’t have a record, so far as I can tell, of your having given to me despite my uh, long and deep uh, work. In fact, it’s been my major work, uh, on the committee and sub-committee it’s been essentially in your sector.
  • I am, I’m simply candidly calling to ask for a contribution. As the senior member of the um, committee and a sub-committee chair, we have (chuckles) obligations to raise, uh funds. And, I think it must have been me who hasn’t, frankly, uh, done my homework to ask for a contribution earlier. So I’m trying to make up for it by asking for one now, when we particularly, uh, need, uh contributions, particularly those of us who have the seniority and chairmanships and are in a position to raise the funds.
  • I’m asking you to give to Citizens for Eleanor Holmes Norton, PO Box 70626, DC, 20024. I’ll send you a follow-up note with appreciation for having heard me out. Thanks again.
Hasman Plea

Support T-Shirt Image: FUBOwear.com
Rochester motorcyclist Craig S. Hasman pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge alleging that he shot and seriously wounded another man during a road-rage incident.
  • Hasman, 50, is charged with first-degree assault, a felony, for allegedly shooting Michael Lee, 30, in the chest with a .45-caliber derringer pistol on Lake Avenue on Aug. 10. He originally was charged with second-degree assault but was indicted on the more serious charge Sept. 10.
  • Hasman was riding his motorcycle, with his girlfriend as a passenger, when a van allegedly tailgated him. Lee, a passenger in the van, got out, pushed over Hasman's motorcycle and punched Hasman in the face, said Hasman's lawyer, J. Matthew Parrinello. "It's a clear case of self-defense," Parrinello said.
  • Assistant District Attorney Matthew Schwartz said he believes the evidence will show that Hasman wasn't justified. The driver of the van told police that Hasman instigated the incident and threatened to shoot him.
  • Lee is recovering from his wound, Schwartz said. Hasman had a permit to carry the pistol used in the shooting, as well as another he was carrying but did not fire.  Acting Monroe County Court Judge Melchor E. Castro allowed Hasman to remain free on bail of $10,000 cash or $30,000 bond after Schwartz had no objection. Hasman returns to court Nov. 19.

"Clown Prince" Weekly Blather; September 18th

A Patriotic Response To The "Clown Prince;" 09/18/2010

Saturday, September 18, 2010
Washington, DC

Back in January, in my State of the Union Address, I warned of the danger posed by a Supreme Court ruling called Citizens United. This decision overturned decades of law and precedent. It gave the special interests the power to spend without limit – and without public disclosure – to run ads in order to influence elections.   Now, as an election approaches, it’s not just a theory. We can see for ourselves how destructive to our democracy this can become. We see it in the flood of deceptive attack ads sponsored by special interests using front groups with misleading names. We don’t know who’s behind these ads or who’s paying for them. Even foreign-controlled corporations seeking to influence our democracy are able to spend freely in order to swing an election toward a candidate they prefer.   We’ve tried to fix this with a new law – one that would simply require that you say who you are and who’s paying for your ad. This way, voters are able to make an informed judgment about a group’s motivations. Anyone running these ads would have to stand by their claims. And foreign-controlled corporations would be restricted from spending money to influence elections, just as they were before the Supreme Court opened up this loophole.
[What I'm not telling you:  I hesitate to tell the public, but an excellent syllabus of the "Citizens United" Surpreme Court ruling is available at the Cornell University Law School website-  http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/08-205.ZS.html .  Actually, what the court's ruling does is remove the necessity for the corporations to form 'sham' PACs to do their campaigning for a particular  issue.  This issue is far less destructive to American democracy than is my complete distain for Senatorial oversight with respect to my appointment of leaders of various components of my regime. NONE of the forty-plus czars I've appointed to critical positions in the regime, have been 'officially' scrutinized by the Senate; a complete affront to the United States Constitution!  The 0bama Handler Group is not so much in fear of foreign corporations co-opting any elections as they are 'Tea Party' co-optation and representation of the 'Mainstream American' conservative beliefs and attitudes.  The Handler Group, the regime and fascists in general sadly misjudged the demand for, and the effectiveness of, the 'Tea Party' movement!   Oh, and what about that Glenn Beck "8-28" rally?!?!  Who on earth would have expected him to draw nearly a MILLION participants?!?!  We sent Sharption out for a counter-rally; what did he draw......1,500.... maybe 2,000 ??  How dismal a response is that??  Sharpton was clearly an ineffective tool to spread our racist accusation that Beck had misrepresented Dr Martin Luther King, Jr's., 'I have a dream.....' speech location, topic and desired response!!  Sharpton had representatives from every organization with the names "black" and/or "negro" in their title, there--plus that radical, reverse-racist professional blatherer,  Ed Schultz--and STILL the representatives outnumbered the participants!!  How pathetic was that show of support for fascism?!?!
How many times have I mentioned 'foreign corporations' in this blather?  How many times have I mentioned the names and donation amounts of those same 'foreign corporations' that bought me my position? .....RIGHT!!....  Any and all donors, foreign or domestic, can hide the origins of their message or donations!!  Anyone recall that flap over my accepting donations from "Doo-Dad Pro??"  No one seems to consider the organizations George Soros formed and funded, just to put fascist liberals in public office and spead the fascist philosophy.  The conservatives among us can bet their 'lily-white asses' we'll use anything in our arsenal to counteract the 'Tea Party' influence on any and all federal elections!!]
This is common sense. In fact, this is the kind of proposal that Democrats and Republicans have agreed on for decades. Yet, the Republican leaders in Congress have so far said “no.” They’ve blocked this bill from even coming up for a vote in the Senate. It’s politics at its worst. But it’s not hard to understand why.   Over the past two years, we have fought back against the entrenched special interests – weakening their hold on the levers of power in Washington. We have taken a stand against the worst abuses of the financial industry and health insurance companies. We’ve rolled back tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. And we’ve restored enforcement of common sense rules to protect clean air and clean water. We have refused to go along with business as usual.
[What I'm not telling you:  The public can certainly see how I have 'fought back against' practically everything!!  Remember during my "Campaign of Fluff" I said that 'lobbysits won't find a job in my White House?'  And you believed it!!!  So much for my 'fighting back;'  there are dozens--if not hundreds--working the the 0bama Regime, as we speak!!  Abuse aside, the regime is not so much fighting back against large corporations in all sectors of the economy as we are striving to control as much of the American way-of-life as we can!!]
Now, the special interests want to take Congress back, and return to the days when lobbyists wrote the laws. And a partisan minority in Congress is hoping their defense of these special interests and the status quo will be rewarded with a flood of negative ads against their opponents. It’s a power grab, pure and simple. They’re hoping they can ride this wave of unchecked influence all the way to victory.  What is clear is that Congress has a responsibility to act. But the truth is, any law will come too late to prevent the damage that has already been done this election season. That is why, any time you see an attack ad by one of these shadowy groups, you should ask yourself, who is paying for this ad? Is it the health insurance lobby? The oil industry? The credit card companies?
[What I'm not telling you:   I'm really pissed that the republicRATs 'power grab' is outdistancing the fascist's 'power grab,' primarily with the help of the 'Tea Party' movement!!  That CAN..NOT..STAND!!  The fascists certainly 'missed the boat' with legislation to circumvent the conservative advantage;  fascist policies, legislation can not survive the light of day when the average American is allowed scrutiny!!  Legal remedies must remove anything 'election related' to a "smoke-filled back room" out of direct public observation!!]
But more than that, you can make sure that the tens of millions of dollars spent on misleading ads do not drown out your voice. Because no matter how many ads they run – no matter how many elections they try to buy – the power to determine the fate of this country doesn’t lie in their hands. It lies in yours. It’s up to all of us to defend that most basic American principle of a government of, by, and for the people. What’s at stake is not just an election. It’s our democracy itself.
[What I'm not telling you:   One thing I've learned as I secretly read about candidate vetting being done by various segments of the 'Tea Party' movement;  party affiliation is not nearly as important as political stance; adherence to the provisos of the Constitution; adherence to 'smaller government-freer people.'  How the hell can fascism be expected to counteract those philosophies??     Any bets on if the public will swallow that "What's at stake is not just an election.  It's our democracy itself"....... thingie??  I've done nothing for the past nineteen months BUT destroy the American democracy, piece-by-piece; now I try to feed you that pile of bullshit??]

This'n'That; September Twenty-Second[Hasman;O'Donnell]

Support Craig "Tank" Hasman
 Craig Hasman-Update
[The article below, appeared in the D and C on September 11th AND I MISSED IT!!  So Sorry!  Looks like Craig will need financial help more than ever.  One can both help AND show support by pruchasing a "Tank Support" T-shirt @ FUBOwear.com !!]
Monroe County grand jurors Friday indicted Craig S. Hasman, 50, on a felony of first-degree assault on allegations that he shot and seriously wounded Michael Lee in the chest Aug. 10 on Lake Avenue.
Hasman was originally charged with second-degree assault.  If convicted of the new charge, Hasman would face a mandatory prison term of five to 25 years.  The original charge carried a prison term of up to seven years.
  1. Hasman, who lives on Lake Avenue, told Rochester police that he shot Lee, 30, with a .45-caliber derringer pistol after Lee punched him in the face during a confrontation on Lake Avenue near Lyell Avenue.
  2. Johndale Hartzog, the driver of the van, told police that Hasman instigated the incident and threatened to shoot him before the confrontation turned physical, according to court documents.
  3. Hasman said he and his girlfriend, Teresa Mancuso, were heading south on his motorcycle and were tailgated by a van in which Lee was a passenger.
  4. According to court documents, Hasman claimed Lee cursed at him and spit at him out a window, got out of the stopped van and pushed Hasman and Mancuso off the motorcycle, then punched Hasman in the face.
  5. Hasman said he pulled out his gun — one of two he was carrying with him — and shot Lee to protect himself and Mancuso. Hasman had a pistol permit to carry both weapons.
Hasman is free on bail.   He is expected to be arraigned within two weeks in County or state Supreme Court.

Delaware Primary Winner, Christine O'Donnell

All The Whiney-Asses!
Both the 0bamacRATs and the republicRATs as well as ALL the national pamphleteers are whinin,' pissin' and moanin' about Christine O'Donnell's candidacy AND primary win.  They each--in their own way--ran Miz O'Donnell into the ground at every turn, whether it was about her political experience, her brushes with the IRS or her student loan repayment schedule.  I note here that the pamphleteers were "no where in sight" when it came to the Charlie Rangel and the Maxine Waters investigations nor the Barney Frank financial and moral shenanigans!!  Here's some published quotes which seem to promote and support the ruling class' domination of the electoral system:

The Wall Street Journal:
"A two-time loser statewide, Ms. O'Donnell has a history of financial troubles and recently told the Weekly Standard her home and office were vandalized, though she hadn't reported it to police. She recently accused a conservative local talk radio host that he had been "paid off" by Mr. Castle's supporters after he asked her tough questions."
The National Review, Online (Geraghty):
"With Christine O'Donnell, all we have are promises. We can't evaluate her on her record in elected office because she has no record. O'Donnell seems determined to begin her political career by winning a U.S. Senate seat; she has never served in a local board of education, town or city council, state legislature, etc. Her next general-election victory will be her first."
The National Review, Online (Goldberg):
"I don't know that much about Delaware, but people I trust say that Castle may well be the best we can hope for there." And: "Also, it's worth pointing out that we want more liberal Republicans, we just want them to replace Democrats. If Northeast Republicans have to be more liberal than Southwest ones to win, that's okay."
The National Revieew, Online (Foster):
"Forty Jim DeMints or 60 Lindsey Grahams? Forty Christine O'Donnell's or 60 Mike Castles?" and "So, again: would conservatives in Delaware rather win, or send a message?"
The National Review, Online (Stuttaford):
The reason Miz O'Donnell is a "two-time loser:"  she had the guts to take on up-hill Senate races in the first place!!
"As for the idea that reducing the GOP to a rump of true believers (whatever that might actually mean: there are plenty on the right who interpret the terms "limited government" and "free people" in very different ways) is the essential first step in a Republican restoration, it is, I am afraid, a bad mistake. Wildernesses are, almost always, for losers."

  • Where was Mike Castle when it was time to challenge Democrat incumbent Senator Tom Carper in 2006?
  • Where was Castle when it was time to challenge Biden in 2008 -- when Biden was playing the Ruling Class game and had a ballot spot for both re-election to the Senate and on Obama's ticket as vice president?
The answer is..... He wasn't running!!
Why? Because the man who so much wants to be a United States Senator from Delaware didn't want to mar his reputation with a loss -- thus enabling some national pamphleteer to describe him as a "two-time statewide loser."  Such things are important in Ruling Class circles, and the fact that O'Donnell paid no heed and took on Delaware's political goliaths Carper and Biden anyway is a sign of "Country Class" guts.

**If I were a Delaware voter, the quotes would spur me on to both donate to her campaign and to vote for her in the general election.**

This'n'That; September Fifteenth[Economic History]

No Correction Without Knowing History
Most, if not all states require a knowledge of history to achieve a high school diploma.  Rarely does the instruction even 'brush' an accurate economic history education.  Most of what students get--if any--in the realm of the economy, is either myth or out-and-out falsehoods.  Many economists and historians have published in an attempt to rectify history-expunge the myths; most notibly are
Dominick Armentano  ("Antitrust and Monopoly") and Burt Folsom ("The Myth of the Robber Barons" and "New Deal or Raw Deal?").
Just three of the most important lessons from American economic history:
  1. The History of our money
  2.  The Constitution's built-in defense against overused government spending
  3.  The federal government's responses to recessions
1) Sound money

Few contemporary students are familiar with the phrase “Not worth a continental.” The continental dollar was the paper currency issued by the Continental Congress from 1776 to 1780 to finance the War of Independence.  The continental currency met the fate of all paper currencies not backed by gold or silver. The Congress, desperate for more purchasing power, printed vast sums of continentals. The resulting hyperinflation rendered the bills nearly worthless; hence “not worth a continental.”

This fiasco wrought devastation. Soldiers, farmers, merchants, and even financiers, were wiped out, impoverished. Because of this ruinous experience, the founders drafted a Constitution designed to avoid the pitfalls of paper money. One of Congress’ enumerated responsibilities is to “coin money” (in contrast to “print currency”). The Constitution also stipulates that states settle all their financial obligations in gold or silver.  Having suffered the ravages of paper money, the founders sought to spare us from similar grief, but alas, subsequent generations of leaders have steered us away from constitutional money. Instead, we use unbacked Federal Reserve Notes, which are destined to suffer the same dismal fate as the continental currency and all fiat money.

2) Spending restraint.
There is an instructive incident recorded about the life of the famous frontiersman, Davy Crockett. When running for re-election to Congress from his district in Tennessee, Crockett encountered one Horatio Bunce, a farmer who informed Crockett that he would not vote for him because he disregarded the Constitution. This led to a fruitful dialogue during which Bunce tutored Crockett on the Constitution, explaining that Congress had no authority to give economic charity, especially with other people’s money. Crockett henceforth was a born-again constitutionalist. (This account is available at www.fee.org. Search: “Not Yours to Give.”)
Another historical vignette of similar import was President Grover Cleveland’s frequent use of the presidential veto. Cleveland might have been the last true constitutionalist in the White House, repeatedly refusing to approve of congressional attempts to expand government spending beyond its constitutional limits.  “Big Government” proponents today dismissively tell us that 18th and 19th century practices are passé and that the role of government must change. Yes, of course. George Washington and the other founders understood that change was inevitable, and they provided for change.

In his Farewell Address, Washington advised us to alter the Constitution “by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates,” and later added, “But let there be no change by usurpation” (either by tortured constitutional reinterpretations or by simply ignoring the Constitution when it became inconvenient). The founders knew that a government that would slip the chains of the Constitution would begin to redistribute wealth and ultimately bankrupt the country. Now, having ignored Washington’s wise counsel, we face the prospect of bankruptcy that he and the other founders sought to spare us.
 3) Government’s ineffectual response to recessions.
Americans deserve a historically accurate account of the ineffectiveness of government intervention during economic downturns. The current teaching about recessions, and particularly the Great Depression, is riddled with errors.      For example:
  1. Herbert Hoover was not a laissez-faire president.
  2. Government “stimulus” spending does not cure recessions.
  3. The Federal Reserve can not restore prosperity by lowering interest rates and/or inflating the money supply.
In fact, Hoover scorned free markets. He engaged in so much government intervention that Roosevelt accused him of reckless over-spending and socialistic tendencies.  The most effective anti-recession policy of the 20th century was President Warren Harding’s anti-stimulus policy of slashing federal spending nearly in half.    More money is not the cure for depressions, as can be seen by contrasting the depression of 1920-21 with the early 1930s. The money supply contracted to a comparable degree both times, but in the ‘20s prices and wages were more flexible (that is, free of government intervention), so that they could adjust and bring supply and demand into balance. In short, markets work if government stays out of the way.On economic issues, the founders had it right. We can spare ourselves a lot of pain if we heed the lessons of our own national history!
