The Correlation:
While wandering around the internet--putting together yesterday's 'The Sunday Report'--I ran across an article about North Dakota's economic boom involving the energy and agriculture industries. Obviously, the primary reasons are oil and gas deposits as well as the state's vast tracts of farmland. Secondarily, politics is a formadible player in the economy, in the various states as well as in the country as a whole.
North Dakota's Governor is a republicRAT: Jack Dalrymple. This led me to search out other states having economic and jobs creation successes. By-and-large, the most successful states seem to be governed by republicRATs. Is there any wonder, here?!?
Take a look at some of the states I've discovered that have an unemployment rate less than the national average; greater than the national average:
(Rank; State; Unemployment Rate; Political Affiliation; Governor; Legislative Majority)

50. CALIFORNIA 11.7% owe-bamacRAT: Brown (owe-bamacRATic Legislature)
51. NEVADA 12.1% republicRAT: Sandoval (owe-bamacRATic Legislature)
Now, let's look at some statistics:
Of the top ten (North Dakota through Wyoming): 70% of the governors are republicRAT; 30% are owe-bamacRATs.
Of the top twenty-five (North Dakota through Texas): 60% of the governors are republicRAT; 40% are owe-bamacRATs.
Of the bottom ten (DC through Nevada): 60% of the governors are republicRAT; 30% of the governors (and 1 district/city mayor) are owe-bamacRAT; 10% of the governors are Independent.
Of the bottom twenty-five (Louisiana through Nevada): 52% of the governors are republicRAT; 44% of the governors (abd 1 district/city mayor) are owe-bamacRATs; 4% of the governors are Independent.
Of the entire United States (50 states, 1 district): 56.9% of governors are republicRAT; 41.1% of governors (and 1 district mayor) are owe-bamacRAT; 2% of governors are Independent.
Of the entire United States: (50 states, 1 district): 59% of state legislatures (and 1 City Council) are owe-bamacRAT; 39% of state legislatures are republicRAT; 2% of state legislatures are non-partisan.
Of the entire United States: 62% of the states are below the national unemployment rate; 38% of the states are at or above the national rate.
Now, my amateurish analysis:
If--and that's a BIG 'if'--truth and honesty are allowed to return to the history and text books, "Clown Prince" owe-bama will go down as the single most vile, most destructive ruler ever to be atop the American governmental process. owe-bama will undoubtedly go down as the most controlled--and most controllable--marionette in American history!
These data and statistics clearly illustrate that much more than political affiliation is required to either enhance or destroy a state's or a country's economic stability and prosperity. I'm just as guilty as the national pamphleteers in assigning blame based primarily on political affiliation! In researching these data, it's become more and more obvious that land mass types, mineral deposits, manufacturing facilities, population centers and good-ol'-fashioned work ethic are more responsible for our economy than is the commie-lib, fascist, socialist mind-set.
The affiliation of any political sub-set cannot be ignored. The individuals therein determine--for better or worse--the routes of the economic course, among others. Just because a particular state may have vast tracts of mineral deposits does not mean the state will enact 'energy-friendly' legislation! Take the bordering states of New York and Pennsylvania as examples. Pennsylvania is reaping millions and possibly billions of dollars to their citizens as a result of allowing fracking in their portion of the Marcellus Formation's shale deposits. Conversely, New York's legislative neanderthals have thusfar refused to approve the same benefits for their state's citizenry! New York--for the umpteen-hundredth time--proves the axiom: "Ya can't fix STUPID!"
