This'n'That; January 23rd[Gillibrand;PrincessCaroline;

FINALLY: Real Representation!
Guvner Dave done good!! At noon today, he appointed Kirsten Gillibrand to fill "Rob'em's" US Senate seat, although it doesn't appear that Ms Gillibrand will require as "big a seat" as "Rob'em" did.
GILLIBRAND, Kirsten, a Representative from New York; born in Albany, Albany County, N.Y., December 9, 1966; A.B., Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H., 1988; J.D., University of California Los Angeles, Los Angeles, Calif., 1991; lawyer, private practice; special council, United States Housing and Urban Development; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Tenth Congress and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2007-present).
During the Clinton Administration, Gillibrand served as Special Counsel to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Destruction (HUD), Andrew Cuomo [currently, NY's Att'y Gen]. She worked on HUD's Labor Initiative and its New Markets Initiative, on strengthening Davis-Bacon Act enforcement, and on drafting new markets legislation for public and private investment in building infrastructure in lower income areas.
Considered to be a centrist or conservative Democrat, Gillibrand was a member of the Blue Dog Democrat Coalition during her tenure in the House of Representatives. She is an outspoken advocate for gun rights and has a 100% positive rating from the NRA, but has also worked to strengthen legislation to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. She supports same-sex marriage, abortion rights, stem cell research, and the Children's Health and Medicare Protection Act.
Kirsten Gillibrand sits on the following committees: Member, House Committee on Agriculture Member, Subcommittee on Conservation, Credit, Energy, and Research Member, Subcommittee on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture Member, Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Member, House Committee on Armed Services Member, Subcommittee on Seapower and Expeditionary Forces Member, Subcommittee on Terrorism, Unconventional Threats and Capabilities
Princess Caroline OUT-But Why?
Early on, the Princess was informed by Guvner Dave that she was his [and presumably obama's] choice to replace "Rob'em." He later said that he kept the suspense going to throw the media off the trail. In the last week Her Royal Hi-ness hemmed-and-hawed about the appointment with the Guvner, her family and other clan royalty; finally sending Guvner Dave an email abdicating the senatorial throne.
Problems involving taxes and a household employee surfaced during the vetting of Caroline Kennedy and derailed her candidacy for the Senate, a person close to Gov. David A. Paterson said on Thursday, in an account at odds with Ms. Kennedy’s own description of her reasons for withdrawing.
Til Nex'Time......
