- Romney garners about 26%,
- Palin gets 21%
- Huckabee in third at 19%.
What is also interesting about this poll is that Gallup also asked the same folks about favorable ratings:
- Palin enjoys a 72% favorable rating,
- Huckabee is at 59%
- Romney comes in at 56%.
The big appeal of Palin was the fact that she was and is a superstar. Just a few weeks ago she drew 20,000 people to a rally in up-state New York, that is big time. There dam' few politicians in this country who can do that and she is one of the best!! I had hopes for Jindal in this regard but he came out flat in his first big national appearance. I like guys like DeMint, Ryan and Cantor for their solid conservative roots, but none of them have that wow factor, Palin has that in spades. Who knows what might happen between now and 2012?

Parker Hannifin Corp. says it will close two Wayne County [NY] manufacturing facilities by the end of the year. The decision will leave 230 people out of work. The two plants – part of the Mobile Climate Systems Division of Parker Hannifin – are located in Lyons and have been open since 1963. “This was a difficult decision and in no way reflects upon the performance of our dedicated employees here,” said Tom Healy, president of Parker’s Climate and Industrial Controls Group. Citing increased competition from Asia and technological developments that have made some of their product lines obsolete, the Cleveland-based company said it will sell or close two of the four product lines currently manufactured at its Lyons facilities. The two facilities, located at 100 Dunn Road and 15 Depew Ave. in Lyons, manufacture air conditioning and drying equipment for heavy truck, construction, and agricultural markets. Parker Hannifin said all employees will receive severance and extended medical benefits.
