This'n'That; March 7th[BankFees;Watermelons;FiscalResponsibility]

LEGAL Bank Scam
Is everyone inside the Beltway, in someone's pocket?  If you're "big business"-you can DO NO WRONG!! Particularly if you're in the banking segment.
You might bode well to ask your banker if he/she uses "largest-to-smallest" check posting.  This is a scheme to generate more and more overdraft fees. Essentially, this is what happens:
  • Say, during your workday, you pay $5.00 for your lunch with a debit card.
  • After work you buy a well-deserved new suit for $350.00, again paying with the debit card.
  • On your way home, you get gas, $50.00 on the debit card.
  • During these transactions you fail to realize that your daily beginning balance in the bank is $295.00.
With "largest-to-smallest" posting, you've just generated up to $102.00 in overdraft fees.  The suit payment will be posted first-a $34 overdraft charge.  Next would be the gas-another $34 charge.  Lastly, the lunch would generate the third overdraft charge.
Had a "smallest-to-largest" method been used, you'd only have ONE OVERDRAFT charge.  Had a chronologic method been used, you'd have two overdraft charges.  Can you see the scam here?!?!
The key section of banking regulations in force here is the one, entitled:

“The Bank’s Consideration of the Section 7.4002(b) Factors”.
This section lays out four reasons to adopt the practice, and concludes that “the Bank’s process for deciding the order of check posting is consistent with the safety and soundness considerations set forth in section 7.4002(b) and that the Bank may therefore post checks in the order it desires”.

In their defense, most banks conclude that they need to adopt the high-to-low order of posting so that customers who frequently write checks against insufficient funds do not do business with the bank primarily because the bank’s fee for checks presented against insufficient funds is lower than its competitors’.
Essentially, the bank is saying that its competitors have high overdraft fees--that it doesn’t want to compete against its competitors--so it needs high overdraft fees too.

Dan Rather:" "Clown Prince" Couldn't Sell Watermelons......"
This was heard on Rush's show of 03/08, during the second hour:
Rather: "Obama couldn't sell watermelons on the highway with a state trooper flagging down traffic."
I have no idea of the context of the Rather quote; whether he was interviewing someone; he was being interviewed; it was one of his ill-conceived statements.  Although the quote seems to be true, I'm waiting for the outrage from Sharpton, Jackson, Ga Rep John Lewis, Ca Rep Maxine Watters, et al.

Christie For President!!
As opposed to the royals at the federal level, N.J. Governor Chris Christie is willing and able to make the tough decisions!!  Mister Christie is able to get shit done; get shit done right!!  Here are portions of a speech he gave last month [02/24], to the state's League of Municipalities:
CHRISTIE: Our citizens are already the most overtaxed citizens in America. The public appetite for ever increasing taxes has reached an end. So now when we freeze $475 million in school aid, I'm hearing the reverberations from school boards saying, "Well now you're just going to force us to raise taxes." I'm tired of hearing school superintendents and school board members complain that there are no other options other than raising property taxes. There are other options. There has to be parity between what's happening in the real world and what's happening in the public sector world. The money doesn't grow on trees outside this building or outside your municipal building. It comes from the hardworking people of our communities who are suffering and hurting right now.
CHRISTIE: The political class -- which unfortunately for us all of us are a member of. The political class is lagging behind the public on this. The public is ready to hear that tough choices have to be made. They're not going to like it. Let me not confuse the two. But they are ready to hear the truth. In fact, they find it refreshing to hear the truth and the pabulum that gets spewed sometimes about, "Don't worry, I can save you from the pain," they've been hearing that for a decade. As we've borrowed and spent and taxed our way into oblivion. We have done every quick fix in the book that you can do, and now we are left literally holding the bag.

CHRISTIE: You all know that these raises that are being given to public employees of all stripes we can't afford, you all know the state can't continue to spend money that it doesn't have, and you all know that the appetite for tax increases among our constituents has come to an end. And so the path to reform and success is clear. We know what it is. We just have to have the courage to go there. What we're doing is showing people that government can work again for them, not for us. Government has worked for the political class for much too long. There's no time left. We have no room left to borrow. We have no room left to tax.
Fiscal responsibility is the only way to drag the country and the several states out of the economic morass we're currently in.  Pissing $140,000  each on 250,000 jobs is not fiscal responsibility!!

"Clown Prince" Weekly Blather; March 6th

A Patriotic Response To The "Clown Prince" 03/06/2010
Weekly Address
March 6, 2010
This week, I asked Congress to schedule a final vote on reform that will give families and businesses more control over their health care by holding insurance companies more accountable. This comes after nearly a year of debate, as well as a seven hour summit with Democrats and Republicans where we had a public and substantive discussion on health care. Since then, I’ve said that I’m willing to incorporate some ideas offered by Republicans, and we’re eliminating special provisions that had no place in health care reform.
Now, despite all the progress and improvements we’ve made, Republicans in Congress insist that the only acceptable course on health care is to start over. But you know what? The insurance companies aren’t starting over. I just met with some of them on Thursday and they couldn’t give me a straight answer as to why they keep arbitrarily and massively raising premiums – by as much as 60% in states like Illinois. If we do not act, they will continue to do this. They will continue to drop people’s coverage when they need it. They will continue to refuse coverage based on pre-existing conditions. These practices will continue.
That’s why we must act now. That’s why the United States Congress owes the American people an up-or-down vote on health insurance reform.
[What I'm not telling you:  Yes, I've privately chastised my speech writing thugs for reference to that "..... seven hour summit....!!"  That's the ONLY PHOTO-OP that I truly want to forget; just make it go away!!   Again privately, I've admitted that I admire both Mr Ryan of Wisconsin and Mr Cantor of Virginia, for their attention to detail; their deft--almost surgical--dissection of the obamaCare proposal written for me.  As has been mentioned previously, I and the rest of the obamacRATics attending the failed summit, had expected a verbal massacre of the republicRATs!!  Mr Ryan and Mr Cantor are to be commended for the artful, factual way they "handed me my ass on a silver platter!!!"  They were far better versed in the alleged facts my thugs used in writing the proposal; while I--fully expecting the aforementioned massacre--didn't bother even glancing at the paperwork before we obamacRATics were verbally carved up.  With access to my ubiquitous teleprompter, I could have dodged the embarassment I suffered with well scripted comments--having nothing to do with actual facts or other attendees' comments.  If the only considerations were  health care's quality and financial affordability,  we should not only start over--but abandoning the futile prossess all together!!  A much better solution is to have the federals allow interstate marketing of healthcare insurance; force each state to do so as well!!  This is so easy....."even an inept, ill-equipped, inexperienced president could do it!!!"] The proposal we’ve put forward would end the worst practices of the insurance industry, lower costs for millions of Americans, and give uninsured individuals and small businesses the same kind of choice of private health insurance that Members of Congress get for themselves. And while it will take a few years to fully implement these reforms, there are numerous protections and benefits that would start to take effect this year.
  • This year, small business owners will receive tax credits to purchase health insurance.
  • This year, thousands of uninsured Americans with pre-existing conditions will finally be able to purchase coverage. Insurance companies will no longer be allowed to deny coverage to children with pre-existing conditions. And they will no longer be allowed to drop your coverage when you get sick.
  • This year, all new insurance plans will be required to offer free preventive care to their customers – so that we can start catching preventable illnesses and diseases on the front end. There will no longer be lifetime limits or restrictive annual limits on the amount of care you receive. Young adults will be able to stay on their parents’ insurance policy until they’re 26 years old. And there will be a new, independent appeals process for anyone who feels they were unfairly denied a claim by their insurance company.
Finally, seniors who fall into the gap in coverage known as the donut hole will receive $250 to help them pay for their prescriptions.
[What I'm not telling you:  Those "worst practices of the insurance industry" have been promulgated by the federal and state governments almost since the writing of the Constitution!!  True, the proposal written for me would lower costs for millions of Americans; those alleged Americans--illegals, welfareRATs, those working 'under-the-table'--who contribute very little if anything, to the federal largess.  These lowered costs must be born by someone.... that would be the hard-working, dedicated Americans who show up for work every day rather than sitting in government subsidized housing on their dead-asses!!  Notice those bulleted items begin with "this year?"  I fully intend to whine and to play on the ultra-liberal conscience until this measue is passed; I intend to keep it on "the front burner" until America has obamaCare that working Americans can afford to pay for!!  I tried flooding the legislative system with as many proposals as I could--each to cloud the other--to confuse the American patriot; TARP, the porkulus bill, bank bailouts, auto bailouts, a bloated "deficit laden" budget, obamaCare, cap-and-tax... er...trade, to name a few.  That was not well recieved; did not work well!!  I had not expected the "Tea-Partiers" to raise so much Hell.  They broke into groups to attack the proposal{s} they detested the most!!   Pushing young adults back onto their parents' health care policies will surely 'break the insurance companies' as intended!!  $250 to help with prescription costs?!?!  Whatta loadda shit that is!!!  For those retirees on fixed incomes, the number 250 seems like a large number..... it ain't!!  This won't even begin to make a dent in drug costs-but it shows I CARE!!]

What won’t change when this bill is signed this: if you like the insurance plan you have now, you can keep it. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Because nothing should get in the way of the relationship between a family and their doctor.
If we act now, all of this will happen this year. Millions of lives will improve. Some will be saved. Many families and small business owners will have health insurance for the very first time in their lives. Doctors and patients will have more control over their health care decisions, and insurance company bureaucrats will have less. This future is within our grasp.
But we also know what the future will look like if we don’t act – if we let this opportunity pass for another year, or another decade, or another generation. More Americans will lose their family’s health insurance if they switch jobs or lose their job. More small businesses will be forced to choose between health care and hiring. More insurance companies will raise premiums and deny coverage. And the rising cost of Medicare and Medicaid will sink our government deeper and deeper into debt.
[What I'm not telling you: Most of the statements in this paragraph are true--and will be true, for a minimal amount of time--just until they can be legislatively amended to give the federal government more control; to give the working American more expense!!  What most Americans don't realize:  No one--regardless of circumstance--can be refused medical treatment in the United States of America!!  If you show up at any emergency room, YOU MUST BE TREATED!!  Doesn't this render 'health insurance' a moot phrase??]

I don’t accept that future for the United States of America. I know it has been a long and hard road to this point. And we are not finished with our journey just yet. But we are close. We are very close. And so I ask Congress to finish its work. I ask them to give the American people an up or down vote. And let’s show our citizens that it’s still possible for Washington to look out for their interests and their future.
[What I'm not telling you:  I don't accept that future for the United States of America.... as it has been intended for generations!!  I subscribe to a fascist one-world government and I fulling intend to point America in that direction.  Given that my honeymoon YEAR is strewn with failures, it may take longer than my one-term presidency to accomplish.  Washington looks out for it's own interests and future; as I only look out for my interests, future and legacy!!!]

This'n'That; March 5th[Jobs;VoteBuying;SEIU]

Jobs Bill? Nope; Another Give-Away
Thursday afternoon the House passed a $35,000,000,000 jobs bill which is expected to create [or save.... hee, hee, hee!!] a quarter-million jobs.  If payola and control weren't their two primary objectives, they could just give 250,000 of their closest unemployed friends a cool $140,000 EACH.  That's the average cost of each job.  IF these new jobs pay $40k per year, they'll only last 3-1/2 years!!

Slimy obama Still Buying Votes
Tonight, the "Clown Prince" will host House obamacRATics who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he's trying ANYTHING to buy their votes for obamaCare. One of them is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today the Slimy Basterd nominated Matheson's brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
“Scott Matheson is a distinguished candidate for the Tenth Circuit court,” President Obama said. “Both his legal and academic credentials are impressive and his commitment to judicial integrity is unwavering. I am honored to nominate this lifelong Utahn to the federal bench.”
This slime-ball not only has "balls-of-brass," he doesn't give a shit what you-the American voter-thinks, so long as he achieves his goal of the destruction of the American way of life!!!

Is This Why?
[I found this on www.glennbeck.com, Thursday, 03/04. It clearly explains how and why the "Clown Prince" is obligated to the fascist union thugs.]
GLENN: Do you have the audio again of SEIU Andy Stern where he says people want a return on their investment? Do you have that? We played that yesterday, and I played that last night. That's some of the most amazing audio I've ever heard. He says the system is corrupt because people are putting their money into it and they're distorting politics.
And he admits, I'm distorting politics because that's just the way it is. That's just, you've got to play the game that way.
So listen to what he says, and this is why healthcare is passing.
STERN: This is our America. There's something really fundamentally different that we have to do. And what we have to do is what Rob and Simon are trying to do is we have to think differently about our country. We really are in Team USA right now. The market is not going to work. I mean, that's what all the free marketeers don't want to say. All the things that are going on are telling you the market is not going to work on its own. We've unhinged the market.
GLENN: Stop, stop. Stop there for a second. I thought we were past the worst.
PAT: Yeah, that's
GLENN: We're past the worst. Now all what everybody won't tell you is that the market won't work? Well, huh, I thought we were past the worst. Nobody's telling me that. I'm telling America that. America is telling Washington that. But I don't hear anybody else say that. Do you? No, I uh uh, that's weird. Okay, so go on.
STERN: The market isn't raising wages and bene[fits] we have to intervene somehow as a nation and make some very hard choices if Team USA is going to be successful in a global economy. And the politics aren't complicated. You know, people are making investments in politics.
GLENN: Listen to this.
STERN: And they expect a return, I mean, on their investment. There's not ideology involved in corporations. They are looking for a return on their investment. So they are going to make as much investment as they think is good policy. I'm just talking macro. There's lots of individuals
GLENN: Stop. SEIU has spent, according to their own memo, their own press release, $150 million for healthcare. $150 million. They want a return on their investment. Who benefits from healthcare being passed? SEIU. The healthcare union. SEIU, the healthcare union! This is obscene what's happening! And the media is the media is, I mean, the media should be tried. Because the corruption here is unbelievable. And where are the members of the media just explaining that one thing? SEIU: We want a return on our investment. And that's why it's happening. You get into bed with the devil; he expects payment.

This'n'That; March 4th[Congress;Transparency]

Whadda Buncha Shlubs!!
[The obamacRATics need bi-partisanship so they have someone to blame when their fascist policies destroy democracy in America.  They can't even form a consensus among themselves; between the House and the Senate!!]
Lawmakers are at an impasse over who should go first, and a lack of trust between obamacRATics in both chambers threatens to derail the effort in the final stretch. This is complicating an effort to use special rules to move the legislation with a simple majority vote in the Senate.

Each side is demanding that certain preconditions be met before acting.
“In coming days there will be an endgame strategy that will get a healthcare bill,” said a senior obamacRATic aide.
The shift in negotiations, from policy details to timing, signals lawmakers are largely in agreement on the substance of the final bill. The problem is that members of both chambers doubt their colleagues on the other side of the Capitol can be trusted to hold up any bargain.
In what may be a sign that obamacRATics are close to sending the "Clown Prince" his top legislative priority, republicRATs have issued strong warnings that the majority will pay dearly at the polls for using reconciliation to pass healthcare reform.
But before obamacRATics can focus on the opposing party, they must resolve the process of who goes first. The House must vote on both the broader Senate bill and on changes to the legislation contained in a “sidecar” measure. The Senate would only need to act on the changes.
The emerging strategy would have the House go first, clearing the Senate bill and passing the accompanying changes. Then Senate obamacRATics would consider the changes under a special budget process called reconciliation that enables them to pass the measure with a simple majority of votes. Those changes would have to be made under reconciliation because obamacRATics lack the votes needed to quash a GOP filibuster.
But the House does not want to take up the broader Senate bill without assurances that the Senate will act on the changes.
“Can the Senate bill be enacted prior to those changes being effected? I think it’s difficult to do so,” said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.). “I think [colleagues] want some assurance that those items they have problems with are in fact modified before they vote for the Senate bill.
“I don’t know that it’s impossible, but it’s difficult,” said Hoyer, who attributed the wariness of House members to “experience” in dealing with their Senate colleagues.
The Senate, however, is not ready to make any promises to the House.
“Nobody is going to sign off on something they don’t know about,” said Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), who has jurisdiction over the reconciliation process.

"Clown Prince's" Version Of Transparency:
Jonathan Cohn with the New Republic, a liberal publication,  supplies some of the details of a secret note crafted in the Whiteout House:

"Inside Health Policy's Julian Pecquet and Amy Lotven report on a Democratic memo sketching out a timeline for passage of health care reform. The gist is pretty simple: The House takes up the Senate bill and passed it by March 19. A few days later it passes a reconciliation bill and sends it over to the Senate...."
This secret memo--penned long before barack hussein obama's obamaCare photo-op--proves that Fluffy's supposed willingness to "reach out to republicRATs" and listen to the American people was nothing more than a ruse.
It simply proves that shoving obamaCare down the throats of the American people, utilizing both stealth and force, was always the goal... and remains the goal.
On Wednesday, the New York Times reported that at the same time that obama was supposedly "reaching out" to republicRATs; "... Rahm Emanuel, and top health policy adviser, Nancy Ann DeParle, went to Capitol Hill to meet with House Speaker nancy porklosi and Senate Democratic leader harry reid and prepare a final legislative package."
Later that day, Politico.com reported; "Sen. Tom Harkin told Politico that Senate obamacRATic leaders have decided to go the reconciliation route. ... Harkin made the comments after a meeting in Senate Majority Leader harry reid's office including Harkin and Sens. Baucus, Dodd, Durbin, Schumer and Murray."
So much for transparency. What we have is more trickery... more duplicity... more sleight-of-hand... and more back-room deals. We are only days away from watching the United States morph into a socialist nation, under the guise of health care, and the only thing... repeat... the only thing that stands in stands in the way of nancy porklosi, barack obama and harry reid's "cram-down job" is YOU.

This'n'That; March 3rd[Rangel;Schumer]

Rangel "Handed His Ass!"
Charles Rangel--the crookedest sum'bitch in the Congress--chairs the committee that determines how badly you and I get shafted on federal taxes.  While he was screwing you and I 'to the wall,' financially-Rangel was suffering from "convenient memory loss."  He failed to report:

  • ~~A credit union account valued at $250,000 to $500,000.
  • ~~Investment accounts totalling $250,000 to $500,0000.
  • ~~New Jersey rental properties valued upwards of $500,000.
  • ~~Rangel failed to pay taxes on the $75,000 of on-going rental fees he earned.**

When the IRS finally caught up with 'Charlie-the-Crook,'  he was given a "sweet-heart deal" inwhich he paid the back taxes of about $10,000, but neither penalties nor interest!!!
Rangel's now under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for.............. you guessed it......a complete lack of ethics!! The bill's title is modeled on something known in Texas as the "Hobby Rule." In the 1970s, Bill Hobby, then the state lieutenant governor, was pulled over for drunken driving. Hobby was taken to the police station, but when his attorney showed up in the wee hours of the morning, authorities simply let Hobby go -- no bond, no nothing. That special treatment became a precedent for future drunken-driving cases, as lawyers cited the "Hobby Rule" to demand their clients be freed with no questions asked, just like Bill Hobby.
**Rangel's getting away with not paying interest and penalties involved in his tax evasion spawned "The Rangel Rule."
This was the brainchild of Rep. John Carter [R, Tx-31],  who spent two decades as a judge before coming to the House in 2002.  H.R. 735 would require the IRS to give everyone the same kid-glove treatment it gave Rangel.
[Co-sponsors:  Michael Burgess [R-TX26],  Steve King [R-IA5],  Lynn Westmoreland [R-GA3] ]
[From H.R. 735 text:]   ‘SEC. 7529. UNITED STATES CITIZENS EXEMPT FROM PENALTIES AND INTEREST.
‘Any individual who is a citizen of the United States and who writes ‘Rangel Rule’ on the top of the first page of the return of tax imposed by chapter 1 for any taxable year shall be exempt from any requirement to pay interest, and from any penalty, addition to tax, or additional amount, with respect to such return.’.

Thus the "Rangel Rule." Under H.R. 735, if you're caught cheating on your taxes, you would pay what you owe, then write "Rangel Rule" at the top of your return, and you wouldn't be charged any penalty or interest. That way, Carter said when he introduced the bill, ordinary taxpayers would be "treated with the same courtesy that, it seems, the IRS is treating the chairman of the Ways and Means Committee."
IT'S A FACT: "Chuckie-Cheese" Ineffective!! Schumer The Worst!!
Given as big a windbag that Senator 'Chuckie-Cheese' Schumer is, one would think he could get crap done!  Apparently not though:  Since 1989, 89% of the 654 bills he's introduced in the Senate have DIED!!  That means just 72 have been passed into law.  While it's the worst record in the current Senate, it's a good thing for us:  The less from his fascist opinions; the less from his venomous pen-the better for the citizens!!
