This'n'That; June Seventh[Business Workload]

"Clown Prince" Increases Business Workload!
[I found this on the WSR website where I'm a member  { www.wesurroundrochester.com }  It was originally published on the money.cnn website { http://money.cnn.com/2010/05/21/smallbusiness/1099_deluge/ }]
The 1099 changes attached to the health care reform bill are another kettle of fish. These massively expand the requirements for filing the "1099-Misc" form, which companies use for recording payments to freelance workers and other individual service providers. Until now, payments to corporations have been exempt from 1099 rules, as have payments for the purchase of goods.
Starting in 2012, that changes. All business payments or purchases that exceed $600 in a calendar year will need to be accompanied by a 1099 filing. That means obtaining the taxpayer ID number of the individual or corporation you're making the payment to -- even if it's a giant retailer like Staples or Best Buy -- at the time of the transaction, or else facing IRS penalties.  In essence, the 1099-Misc is having its role changed from a form for tracking off-payroll employment to one that must accompany virtually any sizeable business transaction.  "Just with business travel it would include hotels, rental cars," Henschke says.

  1. Phone service: 1099.
  2. Computer service: 1099.
  3. Whoever does your postage meter: 1099.
  4. You do a little advertising, Yellow Pages: 1099.
  5. Your landlord: 1099.
You might as well just keep them in your pocket and hand them out as you go around every day."

Still, the form the new law took was surprising -- especially the requirement that businesses file 1099s when they purchase goods, which hardly anyone saw coming.  Henschke's group had previously surveyed its members and learned that they average 10 filings a year of 1099 forms, each of which takes about half an hour to prepare. That's in line with the GAO report, which found that a typical small business spent between three and five hours per year filing 1099s.
But SMC's survey found that extending 1099s just to services purchased from corporations would push that number to at least 200 filings per year for a typical small business -- adding an estimated $6,000 to the cost of preparing the average tax return. And that's without even accounting for the requirement that 1099s be filed for purchases of goods, a provision that Henschke's group didn't see coming when it conducted its survey last year.
"These folks are doing their paperwork in the evenings and on the weekends already," he says. "This certainly adds to the burden substantially."
Is it time to take a stand against fascism??

[Another member from Geneseo, NY entered Post #: 267:

I own a small business and work with many owners of small businesses. Ignoring this law would be a good place to exercise our right to liberty and show that people are in charge, not government bureaucrats. I'd support and join a nationwide movement to boycott 1099's altogether.]
Not only does this provision of obamaCare add another layer of beaucracy to the business world, it enhances the fascist policy of wealth redistribution!!
Anyone, NATIONWIDE, reading this posting--If you're interested in supporting/joining this possible movement, feel free to read the entry at WSR and find contact information for the guy who posted the suggestion.

"Clown Prince" Weekly Blather; June 5th

A Patriotic Response To The "Clown Prince;" 06/05/2010

Saturday, June 5, 2010
Weekly Address
[Grand Isle, Louisiana]

I’m speaking to you from Caminada Bay in Grand Isle, Louisiana, one of the first places to feel the devastation wrought by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. While I was here, at Camerdelle’s Live Bait shop, I met with a group of local residents and small business owners.  Folks like Floyd Lasseigne, a fourth-generation oyster fisherman. This is the time of year when he ordinarily earns a lot of his income. But his oyster bed, along the north side of Grand Isle, has likely been destroyed by the spill. Terry Vegas had a similar story. He quit the 8th grade to become a shrimper with his grandfather. Ever since, he’s earned his living during shrimping season – working long, grueling days so that he could earn enough money to support himself year round. But today, the waters where he’s spent his years are closed. And every day, as the spill worsens, he loses hope that he’ll be able to return to the life he built. “You can put a price on a lost season,” he’s said. “But not a lost heritage.”   The effects of the spill reach beyond the shoreline. I also spoke with Patti Rigaud. For 30 years, she’s owned a small convenience store – a store opened by her father. She depends on the sales generated by tourism each summer. But this year, most of the boats that would line these docks are nowhere to be seen. Dudley Gaspard, who owns the Sand Dollar Marina and Hotel, has been hit hard as well. Normally, this time of year, rooms are filling up and tackle is flying off the shelves. But he too has been devastated by the decline in tourism and the suspension of fishing in the waters off the Louisiana Coast. [What I'm not telling you:   Do you remember one of the greatest statements--of all time--made on November 21, 2008?  That's when Chief of Staff designate, Rahm Emanuel said: "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.  Things that we had postponed for too long, that were long-term, are now immediate and must be dealt with. This crisis provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not do before."  While Mr Emanuel was blathering about the 'Bush generated economic crisis,' I've taken that quote to a whole new level:  applying it to the current Gulf Oil Spill, also most probably caused by the Bush administration!!  I dragged my feet for eleven days so the incident would escalate to a full-blown crisis before I acknowledged it.  If not 'handled properly,' this could change from a 'Bush generated crisis' to my very own "Bay of Rigs" incident--harkening back to President Kennedy's {"Bay of Pigs"} calamitous invasion of Cuba.  As highlighted, I normally have supporters picked from the union-controlled crowd of spectators which I speak with in a fatherly, good-will engendering manner which makes them and the general public feel that I really care about them and what's happening in their lives.]
Their stories are familiar to many in Grand Isle and throughout the Gulf region. Often families have been here for generations, earning a living, and making a life, that’s tied to the water – that’s tied to the magnificent coasts and natural bounty of this place. Here, this spill has not just damaged livelihoods. It’s upended whole communities. And the fury people feel is not just about the money they’ve lost. They’ve been through tough times before. It’s about the wrenching recognition that this time their lives may never be the same.   These folks work hard. They meet their responsibilities. But now because of a manmade catastrophe – one that’s not their fault and that’s beyond their control – their lives have been thrown into turmoil. It’s brutally unfair. It’s wrong. And what I told these men and women – and what I have said since the beginning of this disaster – is that I’m going to stand with the people of the Gulf Coast until they are made whole. [What I'm not telling you: As noted in the May 4th entry in this blog, I HAVE NOT been "on the job since day one!!"  That makes for a good soundbite, but don't believe it for a minute!!  After three or four days, I did send some of my minions to the scene--they had no authority to act, what so ever!!  I maintain and control EVERYTHING!!  This "manmade catastrophe" is an anvil hanging from my neck, and RIGHTFULLY SO!!  I made the decision--based on campaign contribution levels--that all the verifications required by the various govenmental agencies were not necessary!!  I'm sure I can lay the blame at someone else's feet; as usual, I refuse to shoulder the blame, myself!! I do fully intend to "stand with the people of the Gulf Coast until they are made whole" but only because it makes for good photo ops and soundbites on the evening news!!  I feel no obligation to those people; how can we tell who did and who did not, vote for me?!?!]
That’s why from the beginning, we’ve mobilized on every front to contain and clean up this spill. I’ve authorized the deployment of 17,500 National Guard troops to aid in the response. More than 20,000 people are currently working around the clock to protect waters and coastlines. We’ve convened hundreds of top scientists and engineers from around the world. More than 1,900 vessels are in the Gulf assisting in the clean up. More than 4.3 million feet of boom have been deployed with another 2.9 million feet of boom available – enough to stretch over 1,300 miles. And 17 staging areas are in place across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida to rapidly defend sensitive shorelines. In short, this is the largest response to an environmental disaster of this kind in the history of our country.    We’ve also ordered BP to pay economic injury claims, and we will make sure they pay every single dime owed to the people along the Gulf Coast. The Small Business Administration has stepped in to help businesses by approving loans and allowing deferrals of existing loan payments. And this week, the federal government sent BP a preliminary bill for $69 million to pay back American taxpayers for some of the costs of the response so far. In addition, after an emergency safety review, we’re putting in place aggressive new operating standards for offshore drilling. And I’ve appointed a bipartisan commission to look into the causes of this spill. If laws are inadequate –laws will be changed. If oversight was lacking – it will be strengthened. And if laws were broken – those responsible will be brought to justice. [What I'm not telling you: I can cite you all the measures we've put in place to alleviate or mitigate possible damage to the beaches and industries dependent on the Gulf waters for survival.  The fact clearly remains that I delayed any response to {Louisiana} Governor Jindal's request to build barrier 'islands' to attempt the prevention of the damaging oil sludge from reaching the mainland.  How can I possibly be the 'Savior-in-Chief' in a "full-blown crisis" if the impending damage is mitigated by someone other than myself?!?!  Who pays and who doesn' pay, is just so much blather at this point.  BP--at the outset--assured the American public and this regime that they'd be responsible for all costs related to the oil spill damages and clean-up costs!!   Although I'm making 'a big splash' about new regulations, they're not really necessary; that all for public consumption!!  We just need--as with most of my policies--to enforce existing regulations.  Those who broke the laws.....??  They're members of my regime and WILL NOT BE PROSECUTED!!]
Now, over the last few days BP has placed a cap over the well, and it appears they’re making progress in trying to pump oil to the surface to keep it from leaking into the water. But as has been the case since the beginning of this crisis, we are prepared for the worst, even as we hope that BP’s efforts bring better news than we’ve received before. We also know that regardless of the outcome of this attempt, there will still to be some spillage until the relief wells are completed. And there will continue to be a massive cleanup ahead of us.   So we will continue to leverage every resource at our disposal to protect coastlines, to clean up the oil, to hold BP and other companies accountable for damages, to begin to restore the bounty and beauty of this region – and to aid the hardworking people of the Gulf as they rebuild their businesses and communities. And I want to urge all Americans to do what you can as well – including visiting this area. The vast majority of beaches are pristine and open for business.   These are hard times in Louisiana and across the Gulf Coast, an area that has already seen more than its fair share of troubles. But what we have also seen these past few weeks is that – even in the face of adversity – the men and women of the Gulf have displayed incredible determination. They have met this terrible catastrophe with seemingly boundless strength and character in defense of their way of life. What we owe the people of this region is a commitment by our nation to match the resilience of all the people I’ve met along the Gulf Coast. That is our mission. And it’s one we will fulfill.  [What I'm not telling you:  I've assigned duties to some of the finest 'eggheads' academia has to offer to solve the problems of this and future oil spills.  Primarily, all they've ever done is stand in front of groups of young adults and spout OUR liberal, fascist blather.  They know from squat about oil spills; but they CAN and WILL run any and all 'into the ground' over percieved wrongs!!  Given damage estimates, there will be hard times ahead for some areas of the Gulf coast.  I can and certainly will use these events to my benefit; continuation and increasing the rate  of wealth redistribution, increasing the number of Americans sucking at the federal tit, to name but a few!!]

This'n'That; June Fourth[Path To Fascism]

"Clown Prince" obama To Chancellor obama??
There are many, many steps to the transformation of the current form of American government into fascism; shades of Nazi Germany!!  It's been going on for years, already.... the most recent attempt began with President Roosevelt [FDR] making private ownership of gold illegal, his taking the U.S. monetary system off the gold standard in 1933.  The country went on the "silver standard" the same year. President Lyndon "Brains" Johnson [LBJ] put us on "the paper standard" in 1963.  The US$--currently--is only backed by the paper it's printed on; making worth exactly zero-point-poop in an economic disaster such as this!!  The change to fascism can happen so subtly you won't even see it coming; exactly how the obama regime is doing it.  Here's some changes to watch for:

■Change the monetary system to fiat, i.e., paper money.

■Transfer wealth with fiat to the State via inflation and depreciation of the currency. Have a graduated income tax.
■Create wars.
■Keep race stirred up with class warfare.
■Destroy the familyput the wife to work.
■Promote homosexuality. Glorify it.
■Create government schools under the name of free public education. Dumb the people down so they can’t think.
■Unisex and/or transgender.
Promote “brotherly love”altruism.
■Denigrate women.
■Glorify sex, promote perversion.
■Hold and maintain all the historic freedom-sounding names like constitution, privacy rights, private property, American flag, voting rights, democracy, elected representatives, free press, etc.
■Use very elite and refined propaganda to sway the public on all issues.
■Keep the public ignorant on gold (real money). Erase it from memory.
■Gun control through gradualism. Cultivate the public to fear guns by promoting the idea that guns are dangerous. Inflate gun accidents and gun incidents on nationwide media. Sensationalize the negative.
■Keep the trusted gang in power no matter who is president.
■Manipulate government statistics.
■Promote peace and manufacture arms for export. Be the world’s number one arms manufacturer.
■Harass people with “foreign bank accounts” while having the largest tax haven in the world with and through U.S. banks within the U.S.
■Enslave the world with fiat called euphemistically a reserve currency. Don’t allow the gold standard anywhere in the world.
■Call it private property but have perpetual and increasing property taxes.
■Confuse the terms liberal, conservative, socialist, communist, fascist, democrat, republican.
The "Clown Prince" and the rest of his regime have been building on this list since before the coronation.  The "obama beginning" was actually during his community agitator days, continuing into the no-work elected offices and on into the "Campaign of Fluff!"  This incompetent boob has done us one better, though;  Lie, continue to lie, beat the people over the head with the multitudes of lies until--as happened with "Slick-Willie"--the population begins to believe the lies as fact!!

[As I write this: Glenn Beck is playing a clip of Sarah Silverman spouting the racism mantra of the current regime!!!]

This'n'That; June da Turd[Vacation;Census]

Why "Vacation" in Chicago?
For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why "Clown Prince" obama would subject himself and his family to a vacation in CHICAGO!

  • He has no real ties to the city.
  • He's essentially a political outsider in the whole scheme of the Chicago thugocracy.
  • He has the unqualified use of a 50++ Million dollar aircraft; carte blanche with respect to operating expenses.
  • He could pick any destination on the planet and travel there and back AT NO PERSONAL EXPENSE.
Then the light went on!!  It finally dawned on me--this guy has "shit fallin' from the sky" and he's gotta get a cover-up plan in place before all that "hits the fan!!"
  • Rod Blogoyavitch, the former 'standard issue Illinois' governor, has a trial coming up soon.
  • The obama regime offered Colorado politician Andrew Romanoff a job in the regime if he gave up running against the obama choice--Michael Bennet.
  • The obama regime offered Pennsylvania democRAT Joe Sestak a job in the administration if he dropped out of the state's primary against incompetent slime-ball turncoat,  Arlen Spector.
  • Although current regime mouthpieces adamantly deny it; the obama regime took at least ELEVEN DAYS to even acknowledge that "something happened" in the Gulf of Mexico!!
  • The best the obama regime can offer for "expert advisors" in the Gulf oil spill dilemma are political hacks, lawyers and bean counters-- all obama thugs that have never held an honest, wage-earning job in their entire careers.
With all this "excrement about to hit the circulating system," it becomes plain why the "Clown Prince" vacationed in Chicago!!

The "Blago" trial has the potential to reveal the true obama involvement in the attempted sale of his senate seat to the highest bidder.  "Clown Prince" obama, White House mouthpieces Rahm Emanuel and Valerie Jarrett, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., all have at least some interest in the outcome, according to documents produced by prosecutors, defense lawyers and the White House counsel. "Blago" has been charged with engaging in state-level kickback schemes, but Washington is much more focused on allegations he tried to sell Obama’s old Senate seat.  It's unlikely that the "Clown Prince" himself will be called to testify; if he is--the smart money says that there'll be an 'executive privilege' shield invoked here!!
Did the vacation include a consult with Billy Ayers, the mad bomber?  I'm sure it did: see, these job offers to "stiffle political competition" are impeachable offenses and the mad bomber knows all about avoiding prosecution!!!  Yes, the "Clown Prince" has been effectively shielded from any appearance of impropriety [some member of the regime made each offer {lol}]; but he's still have "the stench of excrement" all over himself and his regime when all is said and done!!

"Clown Prince" obama 'Tweaks' Job Figures

Why am I NOT SURPRISED?!?!?!?

Two More Census Workers Blow The Whistle
NYpost.com
5-25-10

You know the old saying: "Everyone loves a charade." Well, it seems that the Census Bureau may be playing games.
Last week, one of the millions of workers hired by Census 2010 to parade around the country counting Americans blew the whistle on some statistical tricks.  The worker, Naomi Cohn, told The Post that she was hired and fired a number of times by Census. Each time she was hired back, it seems, Census was able to report the creation of a new job to the Labor Department.
Below, I have a couple more readers who worked for Census 2010 and have tales to tell.  But first, this much we know.

  • Each month Census gives Labor a figure on the number of workers it has hired. That figure goes into the closely followed monthly employment report Labor provides. For the past two months the hiring by Census has made up a good portion of the new jobs.
  • Labor doesn't check the Census hiring figure or whether the jobs are actually new or recycled. It considers a new job to have been created if someone is hired to work at least one hour a month.
  • One hour! A month! So, if a worker is terminated after only one hour and another is hired in her place, then a second new job can apparently be reported to Labor . (I've been unable to get Census to explain this to me.)
Here's a note from a Census worker -- this one from Manhattan:

  • "John: I am on my fourth rehire with the 2010 Census.
  • "I have been hired, trained for a week, given a few hours of work, then laid off. So my unemployed self now counts for four new jobs.
  • "I have been paid more to train all four times than I have been paid to actually produce results. These are my tax dollars and your tax dollars at work.
  • "A few months ago I was trained for three days and offered five hours of work counting the homeless. Now, I am knocking (on) doors trying to find the people that have not returned their Census forms. I worked the 2000 Census. It was a far more organized venture.
  • "Have to run and meet my crew leader, even though with this rain I did not work today. So I can put in a pay sheet for the hour or hour and a half this meeting will take. Sincerely, C.M."
And here's another:

  • "John: I worked for (Census) and I was paid $18.75 (an hour) just like Ms. Naomi Cohn from your article.
  • "I worked for about six weeks or so and I picked the hours I wanted to work. I was checking the work of others. While I was classifying addresses, another junior supervisor was checking my work.
  • "In short, we had a "checkers checking checkers" quality control. I was eventually let go and was told all the work was finished when, in fact, other people were being trained for the same assignment(s).
  • "I was re-hired about eight months later and was informed that I would have to go through one week of additional training.
  • "On the third day of training, I got sick and visited my doctor. I called my supervisor and asked how I can make up the class. She informed me that I was 'terminated.' She elaborated that she had to terminate three other people for being five minutes late to class.
  • "I did get two days' pay and I am sure the 'late people' got paid also. I think you would concur that this is an expensive way to attempt to control sickness plus lateness. I am totally convinced that the Census work could be very easily done by the US Postal Service.
  • "When I was trying to look for an address or had a question about a building, I would ask the postman on the beat. They knew the history of the route and can expand in detail who moved in or out etc. I have found it interesting that if someone works one hour, they are included in the labor statistics as a new job being full.
  • "I am not surprised that you can't get any answers from Census staff; I found there were very few people who knew the big picture. M.G."
When I received my Census form in the mail, I filled it out. Nobody had to knock on my door.  I answered truthfully about the number of people living in my household. But I could have just as easily doubled the number. Why not? Didn't Census ad vertisements imply that my community would get more federal money if the popula tion were larger?

I'm glad people are finding work with the Census. For some it's the only work they have had this year and the chump change they are making for a few hours' work is a godsend.  But wasting taxpayers' money on busywork isn't going to do much for the economy.
