obamaCare Marriage Penalty!

Some married couples would pay thousands of dollars more for the same health insurance coverage as unmarried people living together, under the health insurance overhaul plan pending in Congress.

The built-in "marriage penalty" in both House and Senate healthcare bills has received scant attention. But for scores of low-income and middle-income couples, it could mean a hike of $2,000 or more in annual insurance premiums the moment they say "I do."

The disparity comes about in part because subsidies for purchasing health insurance under the plan from congressional obamacRATs are pegged to federal poverty guidelines. That has the effect of limiting subsidies for married couples with a combined income, compared to if the individuals are single. People who get their health insurance through an employer wouldn't be affected. Only people that buy subsidized insurance through new exchanges set up by the legislation stand to be impacted. About 17 million people would receive such subsidies in 2016 under the House plan, the Congressional Budget Office estimates. The bills cap the annual amount people making less than 400% of the federal poverty level must pay for health insurance premiums, ranging from 1.5% of income for the poorest to 11% at the top end, under the House plan.

For an unmarried couple with income of $25,000 each, combined premiums would be capped at $3,076 per year, under the House bill. If the couple gets married, with a combined income of $50,000, their annual premium cap jumps to $5,160 -- a "penalty" of $2,084. Those figures were included in a memo prepared by House Republican staff.

The disparity is slightly smaller in the Senate version of health-care legislation, chiefly because premium subsidies in the House bill are more targeted towards low-wage earners. Under the Senate bill, a couple with $50,000 combined income would pay $3,450 in annual premiums if unmarried, and $5,100 if married -- a difference of $1,650. Republicans say the effect on married couples whose combined income makes them ineligible for subsidies is even greater -- up to $5,000 or more -- but that is more difficult to measure because it includes assumptions about the price of insurance policies. Democratic staff who helped to write the bill confirmed the existence of the penalty, but said it cannot be remedied without creating other inequities.

For instance, they said making the subsidies neutral towards marriage would lead to a married couple with only one bread-winner getting a more generous subsidy than a single parent at the same income-level. "The Finance Committee, along with other committees in the Senate, took pains to craft the most equitable overall structure possible, and that's what we have here," said a Democratic Senate Finance Committee aide.

If the bill passes in its current form, it would be far from the first example of federal and social benefits creating incentives to remain single. Under current law, marriage can have a negative impact on a person's ability to claim the earned income tax credit and welfare benefits including food stamps.

"This seems to not only penalize the married, but also those who would have the most to gain from marriage -- the poor," said Jenny Tyree, an analyst at the Colorado-based Focus on the Family.

A "Lott" Wrong With reid Statement

Strom Thurmond—a segregationist—had been elected president in 1948. On December 20, 2002-during the controversy-Lott resigned as Senate Minority Leader in the Senate. In December 2007, he resigned from the Senate entirely.]

In the book, "Game Change," Reid assessed Obama's strengths as a candidate. Reid "believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama--a 'light-skinned' African American 'with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.' A poll conducted by the Las Vegas Review Journal shows him facing a dismal reelection in November. Reid trailed former state Republican party chairwoman Sue Lowden 50% to 40%, and he was lagging businessman Danny Tarkanian (R) 49% to 41%. 30% of voters viewed Reid favorably and 52% saw him as the slug he is!!

[In light of reid's blatant hypocrisy, where is the "equality of infraction" between he and Senator Lott?? Did they both not make egregious statements involving racial overtones?? Was not Senator Lott forced to resign his leadership post?? I contend that reid wouldn't 'make a pimple on a leader's ass' and should have never been elected by his peers to the post he has a tenuous grasp of currently!!!]

And when they're done, they will attempt to hold quickie votes on this final version of obamaCare before anyone is any the wiser. Essentially, in their desperation to pass obamaCare, they're hi-jacking the legislative process... it's not a stretch to say that they're hi-jacking the country!!

Normally, when there are differences between the House and Senate versions of a bill, a conference committee of republicRATs and obamacRATs from both houses of Congress is convened to reconcile the two bills.

pelosi and reid decided to thumb their noses at standard operating procedure. They, in collusion with the "Clown Prince," decided that the final version of obamaCare, a bill that will put the government in charge of nearly 18% of the nation's economy--as well as your health care decisions for years to come--should be their little secret.

These two slimy bastErds took both versions of obamaCare in hand... locked the doors; lowered the blinds; shut out the republicRATs; shut out the American people; turned-off the television cameras and conducted their own reconciliation "debate!!"

Brian Lamb, the head of C-SPAN, sent a letter to barack INSANE obama; Mm....MM....Mm!!! and the Congressional Morons requesting access to televise further obamaCare negotiations, pelosi and reid ignored the request. pelosi and reid's banana-republic actions simply prove what's being said publically.

obamaCare was never about reforming health care. It was never anything more than a tyrannical attempt to transform the United States into a fascist country!! It's all about politicians gaining power through the ability to control your life. This raw power-grab must be stopped; it can be stopped... but only if we take immediate action.

It is of the utmost necessity that you contact the Leadership of the House and the Senate as well as eleven key members of the House of Representatives (Bart Stupak, Kathy Dahlkemper, Brad Ellsworth, Daniel Lipinski, Steve Driehaus, Paul Kanjorski, Marcy Kaptur, Dale Kildee, Solomon Ortiz, John Murtha and James Oberstar) and four key whores of the Senate (Blanche Lincoln, Ben Nelson, Joseph Lieberman and Mary Landrieu) who can be persuaded to vote against obamaCare--we just have to "out-pimp" the Pimp-in-Chief!! "Clown Prince" Weekly Blather; January 9th

A Patriotic Response to the "Clown Prince,"01/09/2010 Weekly Address January 9, 2010 A year ago, when I took office in the midst of the worst recession since the Great Depression, I promised you two things. The first was that there would be better days ahead. And the second was that the road to recovery would be long, and sometimes bumpy. That was brought home again yesterday. We learned that in November, our economy saw its first month of job gains in nearly two years – but last month, we lost more than we gained. Now, we know that no single month makes a trend, and job losses for the final quarter of 2009 were one-tenth what they were in the first quarter. But until we see a trend of good, sustainable job creation, we will be relentless in our efforts to put America back to work. [What I'm not telling you: After millions of job losses, how can a few thousand returning jobs be considered "job gains??" Now that the recession has been ongoing for the entirety of my first year on the throne-I'm certainly not going to admit that I "own the recession," even though it's now all mine!! No longer can I push blame off onto former President Bush. The KoolAid media is even getting on that bandwagon!! I search for any statistic that will justify my positions on unemployment and the economy. All these shovel-ready jobs I had forcast just haven't materialized; I can't seem to get the states to take the slush-fund money and get some jobs-ANY JOBS-started and make my numbers look better. No matter how my handlers and I attempt to spin the economy...... IT SUCKS!!!! I know the sure-fire way to stimulate the economy is with massive personal, small business and corporate tax cuts; if I advocate that, it'll go against the grain of my personal objectives-fascist control of all walks of life in America!!] That task goes even deeper than replacing the seven million jobs that have been lost over the past two years. We need to rebuild our economy in such a way that our families can feel a measure of security again. Too many of the folks I’ve talked with this year, and whose stories I read in letters at night, tell me that they’ve known their own private recessions since long before economists declared one – and they’ll still feel the recession long after economists have declared it over. That’s because, for decades, Washington avoided doing what was right in favor of doing what was easy. And the result was an economy where some made out well, but the middle class too often took a beating. Over the past decade, the income of the average household actually declined, and we lost as many jobs as we created. Hardworking folks who did everything right suddenly found themselves forced to downscale their dreams because of economic factors beyond their control. We’re talking about simple dreams. American dreams. A good job with a good wage. A secure and dignified retirement. Stable health care so you don’t go broke just because you get sick. The chance to give our kids a better shot than we got. [What I'm not telling you: Those lost 7 million jobs and the declining household income......... they're more my fault-as both a rookie senator and a rookie president-than anything President Bush has done!! Back in the 'nineties, I had lott'sa help with "Slick-Willie" advocating for the NAFTA transference of American jobs to Central America, South America and Asian Rim countries. Everything-stable families, job security, happy retirement-all depend on this manufacturing base which is all but non-existent!! Excluding those descendants of the vile "ruling class," the upcoming generations of Americans-ad infinitum-will have a miserable future; just trying to pay ONLY THE INTEREST on all the money my administration has borrowed; has printed; to cover our asses!! Those morons on the public dole have no idea of the consequences of my pisssing away all that slush-fund money; and why should they?? Their benefits are practically guaranteed-with tidy, annual raises-while the working "serf class" has to bear the weight of providing for those moronic slugs who piss the money away a second time on big screens, big cars, "big-legged women" and big luxuries!!!] That’s why, as we begin to emerge from this crisis, we will not return to the complacency that helped cause it. Even as we focus on putting America back to work today, we’re building a new foundation for our economy to create the good, lasting jobs and shared prosperity of tomorrow. We’re making historic investments in science and in a clean energy economy that will generate and keep the jobs and industries of the future right here in America. We’re reforming our education system, so that our kids are fully prepared to compete with workers anywhere in the world and win the race for the 21st century. [What I'm not telling you: I AM telling you that it WAS complacency that put us into crisis; in truth it was entirely "the ruling class" and it's perpetual mismanagement!! That's BOTH PARTIES!! Reforming education........whadda loada shit that is; it's just fine the way it is!!! The "ruling class" has more mind control, more fascist indoctrination than ever before!!! The last thing we'll ever do is an effective overhaul of the educational system; if I will not allow the children of the District of Columbia to use vouchers to get the same education my progeny get-how close will we ever be to educational reform??] We’re fixing our broken health insurance system that’s crushing families, eating away at workers’ take-home pay, and nailing small businesses with double-digit premium increases. And that’s what I’d like to focus on for a minute. After a long and thorough debate, we are on the verge of passing health insurance reform that will finally offer Americans the security of knowing they’ll have quality, affordable health care whether they lose their job, change jobs, move, or get sick. The worst practices of the insurance industry will be banned forever. And costs will finally come down for families, businesses, and our government. [What I'm not telling you: If obamaCare were far less about control of all walks of life and more about actual reform-only one step would be needed to affect that reform: Insure the states allow insurance companies to sell various insurance products in all fifty states!!! Competition and the "free market" system drive down costs and drive up the quality and value of the product!!] Now, it’ll take a few years to fully implement these reforms in a responsible way. But what every American should know is that once I sign health insurance reform into law, there are dozens of protections and benefits that will take effect this year. Uninsured Americans with a pre-existing illness or condition will finally be able to purchase coverage they can afford. Children with pre-existing conditions will no longer be refused coverage, and young adults will be able to stay on their parents’ policy until they’re 26 or 27 years old. Small business owners who can’t afford to cover their employees will be immediately offered tax credits to purchase coverage. Early retirees who receive coverage from their employers will see their coverage protected and their premiums go down. Seniors who fall into the coverage gap known as the donut hole will receive discounts of up to 50 percent on their prescriptions as we begin to close that gap altogether. [What I'm not telling you: Although a campaign lie that the "KoolAid drinkers" sucked up-hook, line and sinker-that no one earning less than $250,000 would experience a tax increase; just look at the ALL THE NEW AND INCREASED taxes built into the obamaCare bill!!!! Those taxes START IN 2010; the obamaCare reforms won't start until 2013 and 2014!! Guess I stuck it in your shorts, didn't I!!!!!!!!!!!!! {Justin Case mentions those taxes in his entry of December 21st-"Dam' Healthcare"} The obamaCare legislation will become an alligator that's gonna bite you in the ass every time you turn around!!! All the fascists have to do-once the basic bill is passed-is amend it as many times as necessary to control more and more of the public's privacy and bahaviors. Those greasy fast-food hamburgers you eat for most meals?? We can decide they're causing obesity and charge you more for your care or insurance or levy excessive taxes on the products themselves; those regular sodas; those pop-tarts; practically any resturant food.....?? We can decide they have far too much sugar-a major contributor to obesity, tooth decay and diabetes-and charge you more for your care and insurance or levy excessive taxes on the products themselves. The public started to see the possibilities early on-thankfully the Congressional Moron Caucus voted against the wishes of the nearly 60% of the public that were against obamaCare!!] And every patient’s choice of doctor will be protected, along with access to emergency care. Here’s what else will happen within the first year. Insurance plans will be required to offer free preventive care to their customers – so that we can start catching preventable illnesses and diseases on the front end. They’ll no longer be allowed to impose restrictive annual limits on the amount of coverage you receive or lifetime limits on the amount of benefits you receive. They’ll be prohibited from dropping your coverage when you get sick and need it most. And there will be a new, independent appeals process for anyone who feels they were unfairly denied a claim by their insurance company. [What I'm not telling you: Most of this obamaCare crap is just that--CRAP!! Neither I nor the other obamacRATs give "two-hoots-in-Hell" what your healthcare is like and even less, what you pay for it!! We endeavor-as fascists have since FDR-to control as much of the "serf class" society as possible!!] In short, once I sign health insurance reform into law, doctors and patients will have more control over their health care decisions, and insurance company bureaucrats will have less. All told, these changes represent the most sweeping reforms and toughest restrictions on insurance companies that this country has ever known. That’s how we’ll make 2010 a healthier and more secure year for every American – for those who have health insurance, and those who don’t. We enter a new decade, now, with new perils – but we’re going to meet them. It’s also a time of tremendous promise – and we’re going to seize it. We will rebuild the American Dream for our middle class and put the American economy on a stronger footing for the future. And this year, I am as hopeful and as confident as ever that we’re going to rise to this moment the same way that generations of Americans always have: as one nation, and one people. Who Actually Controls American Economy?? Nine politicians in China control the fate of the United States of America. I’m not kidding. The implications are scary. These nine men are the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China. They control the value of China’s currency. Fortunately, it’s easy to forecast what a politician will do… He will do whatever it takes to keep his job. In China, the goal of these nine politicians is to keep the Communist Party in power. The way to accomplish that goal is for the masses to stay employed. Right now, China keeps the people working by exporting cheap goods. In order to make sure those Chinese goods stay cheap, the Standing Committee sets the currency exchange rate artificially low. And that is the crucial part of the story…

How do these nine politicians keep the exchange rate low? They buy U.S. dollars. Importantly, these nine men don’t just sit on stacks of dollar bills… They invest those dollars in U.S. Treasury bonds.

It’s gotten out of hand. China owns nearly $1 trillion worth of U.S. debt. China’s holdings have increased dramatically every year… They’ve grown nearly tenfold since the end of 2000:

China’s soon-to-be trillion dollars of U.S. government debt is not the end of the story. It’s just the beginning… in order for other Asian countries to compete with China, they have to artificially keep their own exchange rates low and that’s exactly what they’re doing. They’re doing it the same way China does… They’re buying mountains of U.S. Treasury bonds, too. At this point, foreigners now own half of the U.S. Treasuries outstanding (of the ones that are not held by the U.S. government). And they’re buying more… Most importantly, there’s enough demand for U.S. debt from foreigners that the U.S. government can finance its deficits for years to come… all by simply selling Treasury bonds to foreigners. Would you lend money to the U.S. government at 3.5% interest for 10 years? I sure wouldn’t. I really can’t name anyone who thinks 3.5% in government bonds is a good deal. The foreigners aren’t buying to earn 3.5% interest. They’re buying to keep the value of their currencies down. India is an interesting example… Earlier this year, when India spent $6.7 billion buying gold from the IMF, it was all over the news. What WASN’T reported was that India bought far more U.S. Treasury bonds than gold. India has increased its stake in Treasuries by over $22 billion since last summer – increasing its Treasury bond holdings more than 200%. So, yes, there’s a mountain of demand for U.S. dollars – Treasury bonds – from all over the developing world. The important thing is demand will last. It will last as long as the nine men on China’s Standing Committee don’t change their minds. So what does all this mean? It means the U.S. dollar will not crash right now. Most investors believe the U.S. dollar is about to crash. But the facts are clear… The dollar has ready buyers of hundreds of billions of dollars worth of Treasuries. While the dollar might lose ground against gold, the reality is, no other paper currency has a tailwind of hundreds of billions of dollars of buying waiting in the wings like the U.S. dollar does. Eventually, the "dollar bears" will be right. The U.S. will have to face all its debt one day. Does New York Need Another "Carpet-bagger?" The "politics of New York politics" defines mismanagement by most and criminal activity by some at all state and federal levels!! The seat of New York's "Invisible Senator" Gillibrand is up for grabs in the November elections. Mr Harold Ford, Jr., is contemplating a run against the "Invisible Senator" for the obamacRATic nomination for her senate seat. Mr Ford grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and lived in Tennessee until a couple of years ago when he moved to New York to accept a vice-presidency and directorship at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Mr Ford was the Representative in Tn's 9th Congressional District from 1996 to 2004. He was then soundly defeated in 2006 during his run for a senate seat from Tennessee. Here are the recent occupants of that seat: "Double-Dealin' Dave" Paterson appointed the "Invisible Senator" to fill the "more-than-ample" seat vacated by Hillary Rob-em Clinton to become the less-than-stellar Secretary of State. Ms Rob-em Clinton immigrated from Arkansas via the co-presidency to buy the senate seat vacated by the retiring Senator Moynihan. Daniel Patrick Moynihan defeated then Senator James L. Buckley who returned to his homes in Sharon, Connecticut and Washington, D.C. James L. Buckley immigrated to New York City to run as a carpet-bagger against-and defeating-Senator Charles Goddell, serving from 1971 to 1977. Mr Buckley was born in New York City, but lived most of his adult life in Connecticut. Senator Charles Goddell was born in, lived in, practiced law in Jamestown, N.Y. Mr Goddell was appointed by then Governor Rockefeller to the uncompleted term of the late Senator R.F. Kennedy. Robert F. Kennedy immigrated from Massachusetts to run as a carpet-bagger against Senator Kenneth Keating of Lima, N.Y. Senator Kennedy and Hillary Rob-em Clinton are the best known "carpet-baggers" of the modern era. Senator Kennedy was murdered in office during his presidential campaign. Must New Yorkers suffer with more "carpet-baggers" who only use the senate seat as a stepping stone to what they think are bigger and better things?? Rallies And TeaParties ARE Working!!

RUSH: Now, folks, let me address this, because I got an e-mail, I mentioned it briefly at the conclusion of the previous hour. I'm not trying to dispirit anybody but I must be honest with you about how I think the Democrats are going to play this, and I have to be honest when I tell you I don't think they care about losing their majority. That's how committed to this they are, and I don't doubt for a minute that health care and health insurance will become the new third rail, just like Social Security. Every election they're going to accuse Republicans who want to take away your health insurance, just like they traditionally accuse Republicans who want to take away Social Security. It's the way they play the game. Now, I think you all should keep calling offices, flooding offices with faxes, e-mails, and so forth, and do the rallies. They have helped. They have made a huge difference, they've delayed this. This was going to happen in August. Remember, they wanted all this to happen in August. And the protests did matter. But honestly, this isn't the long view. This is a spontaneous grassroots uprising that is happening, tea party movement and so forth that, as I say, did in fact slow this down, and it will make a difference in November. Movements take time to develop and the conservative movement, this one, after decades of neglect, is on the march. Conservatism is on the ascendancy. Now, when we face the kind of despotism that we're facing in today's Democrat Party, it takes all kinds of people doing all kinds of things. The public is energized. There are people who are willing to go to jail rather than be forced to buy health insurance. They are willing to do it.

When Debt Can Not Be repaid:

Speaking about foreign holders of American treasuries, the noted financial expert Peter Schiff said this in a speech at the Ludwig von Mises Institute:

“We're not going to pay the Chinese back their money. It's impossible. We can't. We can't possibly.”

Schiff's point was that America is not good for its debts. Sadly, he is right. Having incurred more than $65 trillion in obligations of various kinds, the federal government finds itself in an insurmountable fiscal hole. To give a sense of size, this amount is more than the annual economic output of the whole world and four times America's Gross Domestic Product. It would be impossible to manage this even if our leaders suddenly came to their senses and began to behave responsibly. There is little chance of that, however. The larger our debt, the more eager they are to spend more. So..... Where's all this "free, government money" going to come from?? How's that Hope and Change workin' for ya, now??

Has anyone heard of Universal Voter Registration? Here are some excerpts from American Thinker to explain it and why the Dems are not afraid to shove their unpopular legislation down our throats.

• Many are puzzled that Democrats persist in ramming unpopular and destructive legislation down our collective throats with no apparent concern for their plummeting poll numbers.
• A widespread belief is that the Democrats are committing political suicide and will be swept from one or both houses of Congress with unprecedented electoral losses next November. We may have found out.

It's called universal voter registration. The Wall Street Journal's John Fund described the Democrat plan recently at a David Horowitz Freedom Center forum. Fund describes the proposal as follows:

• In January, Chuck Schumer and Barney Frank will propose universal voter registration. What is universal voter registration? It means all of the state laws on elections will be overridden by a federal mandate.
• The feds will tell the states: 'take everyone on every list of welfare that you have, take everyone on every list of unemployed you have, take everyone on every list of property owners, take everyone on every list of driver's license holders and register them to vote regardless of whether they want to be ...'

• Many states' lists include vast numbers of illegals, including some states which allow illegals to obtain drivers licenses;
• because many homeowners have more than one home, there will be duplicates;
• because so many people are on so many separate federal and state government agency lists, there will be duplicates;
• because so many lists exist with little or no cross-checking capability, all of these duplicates are likely to go uncorrected.
• Add to this the fact that Dems hope to extend voting rights to felons, and the whole thing begins to look like a nationwide Democrat voter registration drive facilitated by taxpayers.

Universal voter registration will create massive vulnerabilities to systemic voter fraud nationwide, and if Democrats have proven anything in recent years, it is that they can win elections that way.

Leftist groups are already arguing that universal voter registration will solve all the problems with our voting system. But the left created most of these problems. The radical leftist Nation magazine, for example, absolutely loves the idea of universal voter registration. This is the same magazine, however, that advanced Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven's Manufactured Crisis strategy. The Cloward/Piven strategy was designed to undermine government institutions by overwhelming them with impossible demands for services. Cloward and Piven focused on welfare, housing and voting as the main targets of this strategy, and the radical group ACORN was specifically created for the purpose of executing it.

The Nation article enthusiastically lists Cloward/Piven-inspired organizations like Project Vote, the ACORN group where the "Lion Clown Prince" his teeth. It also discusses the left's efforts to push enforcement of the Motor Voter law, and explains how universal voter registration could assist in these efforts. Cloward and Piven were the ones who crafted Motor Voter legislation in the early 1980s and pushed for it's enactment until 1993, when "Slick-Willie" signed it into law. Cloward and Piven considered Motor Voter to be their crowning lifetime achievement.

The left has predictably launched vicious smear attacks against John Fund for bringing universal voter registration to our attention. A Google search of the issue brings up any number of nasty ad hominem attacks. Most notable is Media Matters, the leftist group whose sole purpose seems to be smearing Republicans and defending the left's indefensible policies. They put up this gem:

The Motor-Voter Act--one of the few legal issues barack INSANE obama [Mm....MM....Mm] actually participated in as a lawyer--a 1995 suit against the State of Illinois, which he brought on behalf of ACORN. Then Republican Governor Jim Edgars saw the newly passed Motor Voter act as creating the potential for massive vote fraud and refused to implement it. With the assistance of the Clinton Justice Department, Fluffy's legal team won that suit. obama himself actually participated very little, a strategy that seems to have served him well in life. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, after identifying himself in court proceedings, Obama sat back and let "the heavy-hitters at the Justice Department make the arguments..." It is not surprising that the Democrats are now choosing to push this new initiative, for universal voter registration will be Motor Voter running on turbochargers. And who better to lead the charge than the President from ACORN.

There's no other explanation for their feverish push to take over the health care system when a huge majority of Americans are opposed to the plan. But facing an angry public, Democrats are scheming to find ways to manipulate the electoral process so they can cling to power even when voters want to kick the bums out.

Sen. Charles E. "Chuckie-Cheese" Schumer, New York Democrat, and Rep. Barney "The Banking Queen" Frank, Massachusetts Democrat, have plans to ram through legislation that will produce universal voter registration. No matter what they claim, the rule changes will make it possible for illegal aliens to register to vote and for others to register multiple times.

The proposal is to register everyone on every welfare list, everyone getting unemployment insurance, everyone with a driver's license, everyone who has had run-ins with the legal system, everyone owning any property - basically everyone on every list the government keeps. People will be registered to vote whether or not they want to be registered. If individuals are on any public record, they will be automatically registered.

Obviously a lot of illegal aliens have driver's licenses, and many get other government benefits. Quite a few have rap sheets. People's names and other identification information are frequently recorded differently across these different lists, which means that one could be registered a separate time for every slight variation in how their personal information is kept on file.

The legislation is also expected to give felons the right to vote. Why Democrats insist on letting someone who has raped multiple women vote on social policy is beyond us. According to Democrats, robbers who have preyed on helpless victims - and even murderers - have the judgment to tell us how law enforcement should be run in this country.

In May 2005, Public Opinion Strategies surveyed felons who had their voting rights restored and nonfelons who voted in Washington state. Even after accounting for the voters' race, gender, education level, religious habits, employment, age and county of residence, the book Freedomnomics found that "felons were 36 percent more likely than nonfelons with the same characteristics to have voted for [John] Kerry [a Democrat] over [George W.] Bush [a Republican] and 37 percent more likely to be registered Democratic."

For years, Democrats have fought against requiring photo IDs at polling places. The practice, which is simply a way to make sure voters are who they say they are, is used in about 100 other countries.

• Mexico, for example, has cracked down on voter fraud and is strict about requiring photo identification to vote.
• If Democrats have their way, it will be easier for Mexicans to vote in America than in their own country.

It speaks volumes about Democratic unpopularity that they have to look to criminals and illegal aliens to try to shore up their voting base.
