KoolAid Drinker Reneges

First Niagara Bank said today it intends to sell $300 million in stock and use some of the proceeds to repay the $184 million it accepted last year as part of the federal government's ill-conceived bailout of the nation’s financial system. First Niagara announced the stock offering today as it reported first-quarter financial results. For the three-month period that ended March 31, the bank’s parent company, First Niagara Financial Group, posted a profit of $16.1 million, down from $18.8 million a year earlier. First Niagara [FNFG] shares will open today [Tuesday] at $14.03, up 20 cents or more than 1 percent [Div: $0.56; Yield: 4.1%]. First Niagara received the $184 million in the fourth quarter of 2008 under the Treasury Department’s Capital Purchase Program. According to First Niagara, it also plans to use stock sale proceeds to help it cover the cost of purchasing 57 western Pennsylvania branches of National City Bank, a deal announced last week.

Fluffy Gets The Credit!

[I found this on the "Huffington Post" blog...... and it "hits the nail on the head!!" While I would have expected the result illustrated below, I'm glad that the Fluffer took a stand on this on-going "pirate" problem. These are the some of the same "Third World Ratholes" that Fluffy is supporting with OUR SHARE of the $1Trillion worldwide giveaway, which compounds my surprise. When will he use the same means [SEAL snipers] to attack the pirates in the US Congress?!?! Another looming question......When will he award himself a medal for this corageous action? As the Fluffer-In-Chief of the nation's military, Fluffy is authorized to nominate awardees, to receive awards and to wear them on his outerwear. I think he should nominate and award himself at least a Bronze Star for meritorious service in the face of danger. This leads to another question.... Does his "service" warrant the "V" device to indicate valor? I'm guessin'.....NO!! He was probably in the War Room bunker, several stories below the White House!!]

“obama on Pirates: Declines to Answer Question.” According to the story, The president was asked about the incident as he met with U.S. homeowners about refinancing mortgages. At the close of a Roosevelt Room event, the president was asked by a reporter if he were concerned about the piracy incident. obama responded: "Guys, we're talking about housing right now."

On the other hand, I suppose we can be grateful that he didn’t respond: “Pirates? Wow, they’re off to a great 2-1 start! Maybe they’ll join the Steelers in the champions’ circle.”

Has Fluffy Started Something?

What hath Fluffy begot? After Capt. Richard Phillips, the American ship captain was released, Fluffy obama vowed to end piracy off The Horn of Africa. Shortly after the Fluffmeister issued his divine proclamation, there were at least three more ships seized by Somali pirates, seen by some as defiance of Fluffy's proclamation. Here we go.......... When Fluff' sees that he ain'scarin' the pirates he'll develop a "bailout" to support them so the seizures will end [Ha! Like they will!]....... ANOTHER Third-World RatHole bailed out!! [OR.....Quite possibly, the pirates will be another illegal source of campaign funds!!-See illustration, upper left!!]
