A Patriotic Response To The "Clown Prince;" 06/12/2010
Weekly Address

More than a decade ago, Congress set up a formula that governs how doctors get paid by the Medicare program. The intent was to slow the growth of Medicare costs, but the result was a formula that has proposed cutting payments for America’s doctors year after year after year. These are cuts that would not only jeopardize our physicians’ pay, but our seniors’ health care. Since 2003, Congress has acted to prevent these pay cuts from going into effect. These votes were largely bipartisan, and they succeeded when Democrats ran Congress and when Republicans ran Congress – which was most of the time. This year, a majority of Congress is willing to prevent a pay cut of 21% -- a pay cut that would undoubtedly force some doctors to stop seeing Medicare patients altogether. But this time, some Senate Republicans may even block a vote on this issue. After years of voting to defer these cuts, the other party is now willing to walk away from the needs of our doctors and our seniors. [What Im not telling you: I'd like to begin this morning's 'blather revision' with a quote from Will Rogers:
"We are the first nation in the history of the world to go to the poorhouse in an automobile."
Did that guy peer through a telescope into the future? My guess is that he had some super power to foresee the future, especially my regime. My 'Handler Group' has the ultimate goal with all this wealth redistribution crap, to make ALL Americans equally destitute!! They've nicknamed this policy "Trickle-Up Poverty".....Cool, huh??
Remember the activities of earlier this spring? My 'Handler Group,' the members of my regime and all the fascists in the congress told the "most hugest" lies and twisted the Constitution, with the ultimite goal of cramming obamaCare down your throats, against the wishes of nearly SIXTY PERCENT of the American people. We succeeded in having that bill passed with few members of Congress even reading it!! While everyone who blathered on the positives of obamaCare, no one spoke on the catastrophic affects. One of those being that Medicare and Medicaid would be quietly 'gutted,' making it more difficult for the seniors among us to continue receiving adequate health care. The upcoming inadequacies of their health care will aid the decisions rendered by the so-called 'death panels' who will eventually be insitituted. Failure of the fascists in Congress in 'patching' the doctors' pay formula is intentional, by design. The practicing doctors are already wealthy beyond their needs, beyond what is fair for the 'working poor' in America. My 'Handlers Group' has determined that the congressional formula not be changed; the formula was an accidental design which is playing right into their policy of wealth redistribution. This is the first--but not the only--foray into redistribution of the wealth of those supposedly exempted by their exalted positions!! The 'Handlers Group' feel that this failure to act will place the medical professionals under the same executive compensation rules as those on Wall Street and the corporate CEOs.]
Now, I realize that simply kicking these cuts down the road another year is not a long-term solution to this problem. For years, I have said that a system where doctors are left to wonder if they’ll get fairly reimbursed makes absolutely no sense. And I am committed to permanently reforming this Medicare formula in a way that balances fiscal responsibility with the responsibility we have to doctors and seniors. In addition, we’re already taking significant steps to slow the growth of Medicare costs through health insurance reform – not by targeting doctors and seniors, but by eliminating 50% of the waste, fraud, and abuse in the system by 2012. This not only strengthens Medicare, it saves taxpayer dollars.
I’m absolutely willing to take the difficult steps necessary to lower the cost of Medicare and put our budget on a more fiscally sustainable path. But I’m not willing to do that by punishing hard-working physicians or the millions of Americans who count on Medicare. That’s just wrong. And that’s why in the short-term, Congress must act to prevent this pay cut to doctors. [What I'm not telling you: This is a blaring illustration why LAWYERS should NOT hold elective office!! This formula, while supported by my 'Handlers Group [lawyers, all!!],' should have had the input of economists, mathematicians, statisticians and actuaries in it's structure. Even the most imcompetent boob--as lawyers seem--could see the formula was rife with inconsistencies!! Those inconsistencies, as will many, many others in federal law have done nothing if not insured 'job security' for those in the congress and their support staffs.]
If they don’t act, doctors will see a 21% cut in their Medicare payments this week. This week, doctors will start receiving these lower reimbursements from the Medicare program. That could lead them to stop participating in the Medicare program. And that could lead seniors to lose their doctors. We cannot allow this to happen. We have to fix this problem so that our doctors can get paid for the life-saving services they provide and keep their doors open. We have to fix this problem to keep the promise of Medicare for our seniors so that they get the health care they deserve. So I urge Republicans in the Senate to at least allow a majority of Senators and Congressmen to stop this pay cut. I urge them to stand with America’s seniors and America’s doctors. [What I'm not telling you: This is a perfect point to amend the obamaCare law!! We can now exert even greater control over another sector of American Life. The amendment can force all doctors to devote a percentage of their medical practices to Medicare and Medicaid as well as illegal alien patients. Not only will this amendment inhance the health of the fascists' voting block, it will again redistribute larger and larger portions of the vast wealth held by the medical professionals.]
