What The National Pamphleteers Don't Report:
Health Premiums Skyrocket $3,065 under obama
by Bob Beauprez,
townhall.com
September 27, 2012
At a campaign event in Columbus, Ohio in 2008, candidate Barack Obama said, "We are going to work with you to lower your (health insurance) premiums by $2,500 per family per year. We will not wait 20 years from now to do it. We will do it by the end of my first term as president." He repeated the promise numerous times, including during a debate with John McCain.  For those that actually believed him, that turned out to be another in a long litany of broken Obama promises. Worse, a new survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation finds premiums have actually increased an average of $3,065 rather than decline. That's a $5,565 punch in the gut for American families.
So much for "fighting for middle class families" – which is the phony claim Obama is making during the current campaign season. The truth is Obama's policies have assaulted the middle class – and the rest of America, too. [....]

Obama Versus Obama: Part III
by Dr Thomas Sowell,
townhall.com
September 27, 2012
Much puzzling behavior by Barack Obama falls into place when we go behind the image that he projects ("Obama 1") to the factual reality of the man's whole life and thrust ("Obama 2").
Obama himself is well aware of the nature and importance of his image. In his own words, "I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views." An 18th century philosopher put the matter bluntly: "When I speak, I put on a mask. When I act, I am forced to take it off."
Many of Barack Obama's actions as President of the United States reflect neither political expediency nor an attempt to promote the best interests of the American people. Take, for example, his bowing low from the waist to foreign leaders. No President of the United States had ever done that before. It gained Obama nothing with the voters, nor was there any reason to think that he expected it to. Why then did he do it? What did it accomplish? It brought the United States down a peg, in the eyes of the world, something that he has sought to do in many other ways.
These bows were perfectly consistent with his view of a maldistribution of power and prestige internationally, just as his domestic agenda reflects a felt need for a redistribution of wealth and power within American society. It is not just the United States, but the Western world in general, including Israel, that needs to be [....]

States and Organizations Fight To Preserve Liberty from Dodd-Frank Act Intrusions
by David S. Addington,
heritage.org
September 21, 2012
The states of Michigan, Oklahoma, and South Carolina have sued the Obama Administration in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia over provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act that allow the government to seize financial institutions. Several private organizations joined in the legal complaint, to challenge also the constitutionality of the Act’s Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the high-handed manner in which President Obama appointed the Bureau’s Director. The legal challenge by the states and private organizations seeks to enforce constitutional limits on the ever more intrusive federal government.
The Heritage Foundation has written previously that the Dodd-Frank provisions for government takeover of financial institutions “trample upon the judicial branch, conceal court proceedings from the public, and deny financial institutions a reasonable opportunity to defend themselves in court.” Similarly, in their complaint, Michigan, Oklahoma, and South Carolina emphasize that “judicial review of the Secretary of the Treasury’s determinations either is subject to draconian limitations (in the case of the 24-hour proceedings available for a company contesting its own liquidation) or is prohibited altogether (with respect to five of the seven factors on which the lawfulness of the Secretary’s action turns . . .),” denying the “notice and a meaningful opportunity to be heard” that lies at the heart of [....]

What Has Obama Learned?
The myth of the president who can rally and unite people by “telling a story.”
by Jonah Goldberg,
nationalreview.com
September 26, 2012
The Oval Office isn’t the place to learn on the job. That was the line from both Hillary Clinton and John McCain in 2008. In fairness, that’s always the argument the more experienced candidate uses against the less experienced candidate (just ask Mitt Romney).  But Barack Obama seemed a special case, easily among the least experienced major-party nominees in U.S. history. A Pew poll in August 2008, found that the biggest concern voters had with Obama fell under the category of “personal abilities and experience.” In a “change” year, Americans swallowed those concerns and voted for the change candidate.
Four years later, it’s worth asking, “What has Obama learned?”
Several journalists have asked that exact question. And Obama’s answers raise another question: Can Obama learn? In July, CBS News’s Charlie Rose asked Obama what the biggest mistake of his first term was. Obama replied it “was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right.”
Getting the policy right is important, Obama continued, “but the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times.”
Then, last week, in an admirably tough interview on the Spanish-language network Univision, Obama was asked what his biggest failure was. His first impulse was to pander. “My biggest failure so far is we haven’t gotten comprehensive immigration reform done,” Obama said. “But it’s not because for lack of trying or desire, and I’m confident we are going to accomplish that.”
(Actually, it was at least a little “for a lack of trying or desire,” given that Obama never pushed for the legislation, even when his party controlled Congress.) Then Obama got contemplative.
“The most important lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t change Washington from the inside, you can only change it from the outside,” he said. “That’s how I got elected, and that’s how the big accomplishments like health care got done because we mobilized the American people to speak out.”
Put simply: This is very strange stuff.
In the 2008 primaries, Obama and Hillary Clinton had an intense argument over the nature of the presidency. Clinton argued that real change came when skillful politicians moved the machinery of Washington toward progressive ends. The president was a “chief executive officer” who is “able to manage and run the bureaucracy,” she explained.
No, no, replied Obama. The presidency “involves having a vision for where the country needs to go . . . and then being able to mobilize and inspire the American people to get behind that agenda for change.”
So, after four years on the job, Obama has [....]

10 Hollywood Performers Who Are Reportedly ('n' Surprisingly) Republicans
by Billy Hallowell,
theblaze.com
September 26, 2012
Hollywood is known for being overwhelming left-of-center. From celebrity-led fundraisers supporting President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign to incendiary rhetoric aimed against Republicans, the majority of Hollywood doesn’t hide its liberal inclinations.
That being said, Tinseltown isn’t completely devoid of GOP enthusiasts. While they comprise a very silent minority, right-of-center celebrities exist – and some may even surprise you. While the following list is by no means a complete picture, it is a compilation of 10 of the most interesting and surprising actors and performers who reportedly consider themselves Republicans.
1.  Tony Danza
Actor Tony Danza is known for his popular role on the 1980s sitcom “Who’s the Boss?,” for his former talk show gig and for appearing in some popular feature films. But the New York City-born actor is also a Republican who may even have political ambitions of his own.
In fact, in a recent interview, he told The Wall Street Journal that he’s thought about running for NYC mayor:
“I’m of a certain age, and you see things, and you think maybe you could help,” Danza said. “You say: ‘Let me fix the city. Let me run for Mayor.’” [...]
Danza declined to say which party he’d run for, adding that he’s never made a monetary contribution to a politician. “The country’s been hoodwinked into thinking we’re supposed to do that,” he said.
While he didn’t share [....]

55% Think Government Doesn’t Protect U.S. Industries Enough from Overseas Competitors
by Scott Rasmussen,
rasmussenreports.com
September 26, 2012
Most Americans blame the country’s bad economy on government policies at home rather than on overseas competitors, but they’d like to see the U.S. government protect domestic companies more. The latest Rasmussen Reports national survey finds that 59% of American Adults think the economic policies of the U.S. government are a bigger factor in creating the current problems with the economy than unfair business practices by countries like China and the ongoing economic problems in Europe. Only 12% blame unfair business practices by overseas competitors more, while just as many (11%) see the debt crisis and other problems in Europe as [....]
[Blogger Note:  Remember all the polling results that show "Clown Prince" obama either tied with or ahead of Governor Mitt Romney?  This is what you never know--how the various political persuasions are polled as a percentage of the total.  Mr Rasmussen ALWAYS indicates the 'mechanics' of how he arrived at his results, to wit:
The survey of 1,000 Adults was conducted on September 24-25, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.]

Why Investing in Property is so popular?
by Brendon Thomas,
ezinearticles.com
undated article
Property can be less volatile than shares or other investments and is considered a fairly low risk investment. Low risk investments are always popular and housing in metropolitan areas is constantly in demand. The real estate investor has a bit more control over the risks as those renting property in which to live who will continue to rent and without a corresponding decrease in rental amounts. The high purchase price is often offset by substantial income and a possible annual return between 4% and 8%.
Rental income can be earned and buyers can benefit from capital growth once your property increases in value over time. Many people like the idea of an investment that could create a source of income in their retirement. Rental housing is one sector [....]

How strong is obama's belief in free trade?
Staff Report
economist.com
September 14, 2009
ALTHOUGH Barack Obama alarmed free traders last year with protectionist-sounding pronouncements on the campaign trail, such as one about the need to renegotiate NAFTA, optimists among them dismissed this as mere posturing designed to placate restive trade unions. Yet a decision by the White House to impose punitive tariffs (35% for the first year, falling by five percentage points a year, to 25% in the third year) on Chinese-made pneumatic tyres now raises serious doubts about Mr Obama's commitment to free trade.
The duties are to be imposed on September 26th under a part of American trade law known as “Section 421”. The American government argues that these tyres are being imported into America from China in “such increased quantities and under such conditions as to cause or threaten to cause market disruption to domestic producers” of competing tyres.
America imported tyres worth $1.3 billion [....]

"In-Your-Face" bingeing Costs 2,500 More than British Royal Family

All that noise about Obama family luxury vacations with a huge entourage, Romanesque White House parties, Manhattan shopping sprees, over-sized 'crew' packed with cronies... it was just the embittered clingers again, mean people spreading lies about our nation's perfect First Family (who we're lucky to have)-right?
Well, numbers don't lie (except at Gallup)- and what they say is that the Obama family blew $1.4B on travel and entertainment for themselves and their (overpaid) personal staffs last year: that's nearly 25 times more than what the entire British Royal Family cost the UK ($57.8M)!

Alas, at 27 million bucks a week, them clingers must have only seen the tip of the iceberg: White House sources claim Michelle went through $10M of taxpayer money last year on just her own private trips and shopping sprees, with one calling the First Lady's self-indulgent spending orgy [....]
