This'n'That; March Thirtieth #1; Unremarkable Remarks

Unremarkable Remarks
Continuing Demonization of 'Big Oil'
barackingham Palace,
District of Corruption
March 29, 2012
Today, members of Congress have a simple choice to make: They can stand with the big oil companies, or they can stand with the American people.  Right now, the biggest oil companies are raking in record profits –- profits that go up every time folks pull up into a gas station. But on top of these record profits, oil companies are also getting billions a year -- billions a year in taxpayer subsidies -– a subsidy that they’ve enjoyed year after year for the last century.  Think about that. It’s like hitting the American people twice. You’re already paying a premium at the pump right now. And on top of that, Congress, up until this point, has thought it was a good idea to send billions of dollars more in tax dollars to the oil industry.  It’s not as if these companies can’t stand on their own. Last year, the three biggest U.S. oil companies took home more than $80 billion in profits. Exxon pocketed nearly $4.7 million every hour. And when the price of oil goes up, prices at the pump go up, and so do these companies’ profits. In fact, one analysis shows that every time gas goes up by a penny, these companies usually pocket another $200 million in quarterly profits. Meanwhile, these companies pay a lower tax rate than most other companies on their investments, partly because we’re giving them billions in tax giveaways every year.
I might have said:  (this is being written post-Senate vote!)  What the hell kinda ruler can't even get his own party's support?  The Senate has voted to let those evil oil companies keep the subsidies that really aren't subsidies.  What I disparagingly call 'subsidies' are more correctly defined as tax DEDUCTIONS!  They're nothing more-or-less than your mortgage interest deduction or your deduction for a home-office; but on a grander scale.  These are completely legal--NOT shameful as I characterize them--written into the tax code, as are said individual tax deductions.
That $4 billion to those evil oil companies in annual tax deductions must be returned to my energy slush-fund!!  One the average year, I blow through 15-18 billion dollars, essentially  wasted on green technology that--in it's current direction--will never be sustainable!  The evil oil companies' aforementioned $4 billion would allow me to fund other supporters and donors and continue to bribe my current supporters and donors.
Is the United States Senate losing it's socialistic frame of mind, or is it just ME?  Any other ruler could have gotten this evil oil company tax vote to go their way; I know "Slick-Willie" Clinton would have gotten it done!!  This leads me into my regime's 'signature' piece of legislation; owe-bamaKare!  I've not been able to exert the influence on my appointees to the Supreme Court that I had hoped.  Those socio-fascists--namely, Sotomayor and Kagan--had agreed to vote in the regime's favor should they be confirmed to the empty court seats. That seems to not be the case, likely either the mandate or the entire scam will go-down-in-flames!!  The only possibility I had for even a partially positive re-immaculation campaign was owe-bamaKare; alas, that's not to be!  With absolutely no publically-accepted accomplishments to run on, it'll be a dismal campaign at best.
Now, I want to make clear, we all know that drilling for oil has to be a key part of our overall energy strategy. We want U.S. oil companies to be doing well. We want them to succeed. That’s why under my administration, we’ve opened up millions of acres of federal lands and waters to oil and gas production. We’ve quadrupled the number of operating oil rigs to a record high. We’ve added enough oil and gas pipeline to circle the Earth and then some. And just yesterday, we announced the next step for potential new oil and gas exploration in the Atlantic.  So the fact is, we’re producing more oil right now than we have in eight years, and we’re importing less of it as well. For two years in a row, America has bought less oil from other countries than we produce here at home -– for the first time in over a decade.  So American oil is booming. The oil industry is doing just fine. With record profits and rising production, I’m not worried about the big oil companies. With high oil prices around the world, they’ve got more than enough incentive to produce even more oil. That’s why I think it’s time they got by without more help from taxpayers who are already having a tough enough time paying the bills and filling up their gas tank. And I think it’s curious that some folks in Congress, who are the first to belittle investments in new sources of energy, are the ones that are fighting the hardest to maintain these giveaways for the oil companies.  Instead of taxpayer giveaways to an industry that’s never been more profitable, we should be using that money to double-down on investments in clean energy technologies that have never been more promising -- investments in wind power and solar power and biofuels; investments in fuel-efficient cars and trucks, and energy-efficient homes and buildings. That’s the future. That’s the only way we're going to break this cycle of high gas prices that happen year after year after year. As the economy is growing, the only time you start seeing lower gas prices is when the economy is doing badly. That’s not the kind of pattern that we want to be in. We want the economy doing well, and people to be able to afford their energy costs.  And keep in mind, we can’t just drill our way out of this problem. As I said, oil production here in the United States is doing very well, and it's been doing well even as gas prices are going up. Well, the reason is because we use more than 20 percent of the world’s oil but we only have 2 percent of the world’s known oil reserves. And that means we could drill every drop of American oil tomorrow but we’d still have to buy oil from other countries to make up the difference. We’d still have to depend on other countries to meet our energy needs. And because it’s a world market, the fact that we’re doing more here in the United States doesn’t necessarily help us because even U.S. oil companies they’re selling that oil on a worldwide market. They’re not keeping it just for us. And that means that if there’s rising demand around the world then the prices are going to up.
I might have said:  I have opened millions of acres of federal lands and waters to oil and gas exploration.  I've just not allowed the Department of Energy to issue and/or approve drilling permits.  Those drilling rigs in the federal waters?  They're operating on permits wisely approved by that evil President George W. Bush.  The pipelines approved had nothing to do with me or the regime; they're intra-state or interstate.  The only one that I had any control over, I DISAPPROVED!  The "Keystone XL Pipeline" project was the only one to come before the regime that is international; it crosses the U.S.-Canadian border.  Disapproval could--as is my desire--result in much of the Canadian oil being sold to the Chinese.  Within days of my DISAPPROVAL, the Canadians were in negotiations to redirect the pipeline to the Canadian west coast for shipments to China.
As an illustration of the phrase:
Ya can't fix STUPID!!
check this out: If we can't 'drill our way out' of this kerfuffle, how did the United States become the third-largest oil producing country on the planet?!?  Is that a stupid statement, or what?!?
We most certainly can drill our way out of the owe-bamaDepression, but we should have started on Day One of my regime!  Had we, the owe-bamaDepression--or at the very least, the worst affects--might have been averted.  Even when drilling might solve America's petroleum problems, we still have the EPA to contend with.  This group of UNELECTED socio-crats have formulated policies that do not allow for more oil refineries to be built in the United States.  This continues an already choking bottle-neck in the production and processing end of the industry.  One direct result of the aforementioned problems in domestic energy production is the purchase of foreign oil!
The owe-bama Regime only invests in those green energy companies that are weeks or days away from bankruptcy.  That's the primary--in addition to the 'union dues system'--method of rewarding and repaying my supporters and donors.  To double-down on this system of quasi-legal, political money-laundering is the ultimate DISSERVICE to the hardworking, taxpaying Americans!  These green energy sources are better researched and developed on someone's "kitchen table;"  that's where Henry Ford figuratively developed his automobile engine; that's figuratively where Thomas Edison developed his lightbulb and the multitude of other popular inventions.
That’s not the future that I want for America. I don’t want folks like these back here and the folks in front of me to have to pay more at the pump every time that there’s some unrest in the Middle East and oil speculators get nervous about whether there’s going to be enough supply. I don’t want our kids to be held hostage to events on the other side of the world.  I want us to control our own destiny. I want us to forge our own future. And that’s why, as long as I’m President, America is going to pursue an all-of-the-above energy strategy, which means we will continue developing our oil and gas resources in a robust and responsible way. But it also means that we’re going to keep developing more advanced homegrown biofuels, the kinds that are already powering truck fleets across America.  We’re going to keep investing in clean energy like the wind power and solar power that’s already lighting thousands of homes and creating thousands of jobs. We’re going to keep manufacturing more cars and trucks to get more miles to the gallon so that you can fill up once every two weeks instead of every week. We’re going to keep building more homes and businesses that waste less energy so that you’re in charge of your own energy bills.  We’re going to do all of this by harnessing our most inexhaustible resource: American ingenuity and American imagination. That’s what we need to keep going. That’s what’s at stake right now. That’s the choice that we face. And that’s the choice that’s facing Congress today. They can either vote to spend billions of dollars more in oil subsidies that keep us trapped in the past, or they can vote to end these taxpayer subsidies that aren’t needed to boost oil production so that we can invest in the future. It’s that simple.  And as long as I’m President, I’m betting on the future. And as the people I’ve talked to around the country, including the people who are behind me here today, they put their faith in the future as well. That’s what we do as Americans. That’s who we are. We innovate. We discover. We seek new solutions to some of our biggest challenges. And, ultimately, because we stick with it, we succeed. And I believe that we’re going to do that again. Today, the American people are going to be watching Congress to see if they have that same faith.
I might have said:  Reducing America's dependency on foreign oil will help to solve the increasing pump prices.  That reduction will come about with more oil refineries, more APPROVED drilling permits, more APPROVED international pipelines; all which fall under my purview!!  I have not been successful in strangling the oil sector of the energy industry.  I shall continue in that effort.  In the meantime, the oil sector is successful--where green-energy sectors are dismal failures--simply because oil is sustainable; green-energy is not!  When using the private-sector numbers--ignoring the federal government-created prognostications--the United States has enough oil reserves to contine at current demand, for three-hundred, plus years (300+ years)!!
In conclusion I'm going to comment on a recent event, namely the Trayvon Martin tragedy.  While it is a tragedy, the family deserves much, much more than they're currently getting.  The racist I installed as the Attorney-General, eric holder is clearly as racist as I am incompetent!  After our friends in the New Black Panthers organization put a $10,000 bounty on George Zimmerman's head; after our friends in the New Black Panthers organization formed a posse to hunt the guy down, no one from the regime--to include those in barackingham Palace; to include those in the Socio-Justice Department--has taken the first step to have said 'panther' miscreants arrested and charged with several appropriate felonies!!  I--and again, Ya can't fix STUPID!!--would have to be completely ignorant to believe that these recent felonious actions by our friends in the New Black Panthers organization; actions like voter intimidation, by our friends in the New Black Panthers organization won't become THE topic of campaign debates; THE topic of campaign advertising!!
Remember
"There are some rulers who are too stupid to realize just how stupid they actually are!!"

"Clown Prince" Weekly Blather; March 10th

A Patriotic Response To The "Clown Prince;" 03/10/2012
NOT from barackingham Palace,
District of Corruption
From Fridays' campaign stop,
Petersburg, Va
March 10, 2012
Hi, everybody. I’m speaking to you this week from a factory in Petersburg, Virginia, where they’re bringing on more than 100 new workers to build parts for the next generation of jet engines.  It’s a story that’s happening more frequently across the country. Our businesses just added 233,000 jobs last month – for a total of nearly four million new jobs over the last two years. More companies are choosing to bring jobs back and invest in America. Manufacturing is adding jobs for the first time since the 1990s, and we’re building more things to sell to the rest of the world stamped with three proud words: Made in America.  And it’s not just that we’re building stuff. We’re building better stuff. The engine parts manufactured here in Petersburg will go into next-generation planes that are lighter, faster, and more fuel-efficient.  That last part is important. Because whether you’re paying for a plane ticket, or filling up your gas tank, technology that helps us get more miles to the gallon is one of the easiest ways to save money and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.  The recent spike in gas prices has been another painful reminder of why we have to invest in this technology. As usual, politicians have been rolling out their three-point plans for two-dollar gas: drill, drill, and drill some more. Well, my response is, we have been drilling. Under my Administration, oil production in America is at an eight-year high. We’ve quadrupled the number of operating oil rigs, and opened up millions of acres for drilling.  But you and I both know that with only 2% of the world’s oil reserves, we can’t just drill our way to lower gas prices – not when consume 20 percent of the world’s oil. We need an all-of-the-above strategy that relies less on foreign oil and more on American-made energy – solar, wind, natural gas, biofuels, and more.   That’s the strategy we’re pursuing. It’s why I went to a plant in North Carolina earlier this week, where they’re making trucks that run on natural gas, and hybrid trucks that go further on a single tank.
[What I'm not telling you:  At the outset, I'd like to tell you that this blather opportunity was recorded yesterday after my bluster at the Rolls-Royce jet engine plant in Petersburg, Va.  This is being broadcast as a part of my "Condemning Conservatives Tour" re-immaculation campaign--which, incidently--is being funded in large measure by the American taxpayer; in direct violation of current election law!!
That being said, let's get onto the lies-of-the-week.  We're building better stuff:  We--American manufacturers--had no choice!!  Around the world, the quality of "Made in America" products was laughable, at best!!  The demands of the labor and service unions were the primary reason for the degeneration in quality, nationwide.  Labor union members--much like the vast majority of teachers' union members--know it almost takes 'an act of Congress' to fire them so quality is the last thing they're thinking about.  Foremost on their minds of late has been things like whose got the 'joints' for today's morning and afternoon breaks; who was responsible for the beer and liquor for the lunch break.  Can you see why quality had to become THE issue?!?
Now, on to the regime's lies on oil, crude oil, oil reserves, et al.   That "....2% of the world's oil reserves...." is pure conjecture on the regime's part.  First-we're only considering the world's PROVEN oil reserves; the figure we use is whatever number some guy in a Palace broom-closet 'pulls-out-of-his-ass.'  The regime claims on practically anything 'oil' won't stand up under even the loosest scrutiny!!
*Note (from non-partisan Congressional Research Service): 'PROVEN' oil reserves: have a certainty to be recoverable in future years from known reservoirs under existing economic and operating conditions.  Now that you know that single statistic, jeopardizes the honesty of any other blather I may spew-forth on the oil, the drilling, the retail gas price, et al; issues.... as if 'honesty' were an issue with me, with George Soros, with other regime-ists!
Continuing with the 'oil lies....'  The United States--if widely accepted statistics were used--would replace Saudi Arabia as the world's pre-eminent 'oil reserves' country.  As George Soros has suggested, we've used the complicit and duplicitous national pamphleteer 'corpse' to perpetuate 'the big lie' about oil; keeping the 'technically recoverable' statistic out of print, off the internet.  Currently, the 'technically recoverable' amount of crude oil stands at ONE-POINT-FIVE TRILLION BARRELS!!  Those 'technically recoverable' reserves will fuel the United States for 250 years at present demand rates!!  By comparison, Saudi Arabian estimated oil reserves are pegged at 700 billion barrels, roughly HALF of U.S. reserves.
If it's not possible to 'drill our way out,' then why are we drilling at all?!?]
And it’s why I’ve been focused on fuel efficient cars since the day I took office. Over the last few years, the annual number of miles driven by Americans has stayed roughly the same, but the total amount of gas we use has been going down. In other words, we’re getting more bang for our buck.  If we accelerate that trend, we can help drivers save a significant amount of money. That’s why, after 30 years of inaction, we finally put in place new standards that will make sure our cars average nearly 55 miles per gallon by the middle of the next decade – nearly double what they get today. This wasn’t easy: we had to bring together auto companies, and unions, and folks who don’t ordinarily see eye to eye. But it was worth it.  Because these cars aren’t some pie in the sky solution that’s years away. They’re being built right now – by American workers, in factories right here in the U.S.A. Every year, our cars and trucks will be able to go further and use less fuel, and pretty soon, you’ll be able to fill up every two weeks instead of every week – something that, over time, will save the typical family more than $8,000 at the pump. We’ll reduce our oil consumption by more than 12 billion barrels. That’s a future worth investing in.  So we have a choice. Right now, some folks in Washington would rather spend another $4 billion on subsidies to oil companies each year. Well you know what? We’ve been handing out these kinds of taxpayer giveaways for nearly a century. And outside of Congress, does anyone really think that’s still a good idea? I want this Congress to stop the giveaways to an oil industry that’s never been more profitable, and invest in a clean energy industry that’s never been more promising. We should be investing in the technology that’s building the cars and trucks and jets that will prevent us from dealing with these high gas prices year after year after year. Ending this cycle of rising gas prices won’t be easy, and it won’t happen overnight. But that’s why you sent us to Washington – to solve tough problems like this one. So I’m going to keep doing everything I can to help you save money on gas, both right now and in the future. I hope politicians from both sides of the aisle join me. Let’s put aside the bumper-sticker slogans, remember why we’re here, and get things done for the American people.
[What I'm not telling you:  "....30 years of inaction...." is pure conjecture; pure bullshit!! The first two years of my regime we made no changes in the CAFE standards, preferring to ride on 'the coattails' of that evil George W. Bush!!  2011 was the regime's first step in tinkering with said standards.  Prior to that, the two-terms of 'Dub-ya' and the last "Slick-Willie" Clinton-year there were no CAFE changes; presumably due to the mult-front wars 'Dub-ya' was involved with.  So.... 'thirty-years' is bullshit!!
If I actually 'gave a crap' I might consider what actions, what changes the auto manufacturers might be forced to make, given my demand for 55 mpg by the 2025 model year.  To raise the mpg average of a vehicle there are a couple of possible methods; more efficient internal combustion engines and less weight-per-horsepower of said vehicles.  The effeciency has just about reached it's limit, so that leaves weight.  The manufacturers have reduced most of the excess weight out of the vehicles to achieve the CAFE standards to date.  How much weight can be removed without jeopardizing the safety of the driver and passengers?!?
I've found that most things I'm concerned about are cyclical; there are built-in ups and downs.  For instance, global warming and cooling is on a PROVEN 600 year cycle; retail fuel prices have two or three up-and-down cycles per year.  I have managed to break the retail fuel ups-and-downs cycles!!  Since my immaculation in 2009, the national average of retail gas has increased  105%; the same average in diesel has increased 95% just in the past three years.... and they're still goin' up!!   This is where--again--the evil George W. Bush and "Slick-Willie" come into play:  If 'Dub-ya' had stopped "playing soldier" long enough to approve some drilling permits we wouldn't be in this fix!!  If "Slick-Willie" cudd'a kept "his-pecker-in-his-pocket;" kept Monica Lewinsky out of the knee-well of his desk, he cudd'a approved some drilling permits as well!!
See, IT'S NEVER MY FAULT!!!!]

"Clown Prince" Weekly Blather; February 25th

A Patriotic Response To The "Clown Prince;" 02/25/2012
barackingham Palace,
District of Corruption
February 25, 2012
In the State of the Union, I laid out three areas we need to focus on if we’re going to build an economy that lasts: new American manufacturing, new skills and education for American workers, and new sources of American-made energy.  These days, we’re getting another painful reminder why developing new energy is so important to our future. Just like they did last year, gas prices are starting to climb. Only this time, it’s happening earlier. And that hurts everyone – everyone who owns a car; everyone who owns a business. It means you have to stretch your paycheck even further. Some folks have no choice but to drive a long way to work, and high gas prices are like a tax straight out of their paychecks.  Now, some politicians always see this as a political opportunity. And since it’s an election year, they’re already dusting off their three-point plans for $2 gas. I’ll save you the suspense: Step one is drill, step two is drill, and step three is keep drilling. We hear the same thing every year.  Well the American people aren’t stupid. You know that’s not a plan – especially since we’re already drilling. It’s a bumper sticker. It’s not a strategy to solve our energy challenge. It’s a strategy to get politicians through an election.
[What I'm not telling you:   My three points here aren't nearly as important as those three points I demagogue later in this blather opportunity. For the past three-plus years, I've been touting the return of American manufacturing jobs; the plain truth is that the American companies involved can't profit from bringing the aforementioned jobs back on-shore.  The federal--read: owe-bamacRATic; socio-fascist--tax policies coupled with the ineffciencies of a union-controlled labor force make any reasonable profits impossible.
The fossil fuels are the tried-and-true energy sources that have sustained the American manufacturing and business 'engines' for the past three centuries!  Every American president since the mid-nineteenth century has had a viable, workable federal energy policy.  Those policies centered primarily on the availability of inexpensive fossil fuels.  Since my immaculation, the federal energy policy has been "higher retail prices will curtail demand!"  Lest we forget my rewards for my supporters, donors, my voter blocks, an important part of the regime's energy policy is to subsidize those 'green-turned-black' energy companies, even though we knew they would file for bankruptcy within weeks of said subsidies.  This allowed investors in companies like SOLYNDRA to reap untold profits prior to the various-and-several companies' collapse at the expense of the American taxpayer!   Remember that ever-famous statement I made during the last "Campaign of Fluff?"
"Under my plan of a 'Cap and Trade' system, electricity prices will necessarily skyrocket."
...or how 'bout this one:
"So, if anyone wants to build a coal [-fired power] plant, they can.... it's just that it will bankrupt them, because they will be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."
Now, I ask you:  Is this a viable, workable federal energy plan, or is it just more vindictiveness predicated upon the huge 'chip' on my shoulder?!?  'You be the judge!!']
You know there are no quick fixes to this problem, and you know we can’t just drill our way to lower gas prices. If we’re going to take control of our energy future and avoid these gas price spikes down the line, then we need a sustained, all-of-the-above strategy that develops every available source of American energy – oil, gas, wind, solar, nuclear, biofuels, and more. We need to keep developing the technology that allows us to use less oil in our cars and trucks; in our buildings and plants. That’s the strategy we’re pursuing, and that’s the only real solution to this challenge.  Now, we absolutely need safe, responsible oil production here in America. That’s why under my Administration, America is producing more oil today than at any time in the last eight years. In 2010, our dependence on foreign oil was under 50% for the first time in more than a decade. And while there are no short-term silver bullets when it comes to gas prices, I’ve directed my administration to look for every single area where we can make an impact and help consumers in the months ahead, from permitting to delivery bottlenecks to what’s going on in the oil markets.  But over the long term, an all-of-the-above energy strategy means we have to do more. It means we have to make some choices.  Here’s one example. Right now, four billion of your tax dollars subsidize the oil industry every year. Four billion dollars.  Imagine that. Maybe some of you are listening to this in your car right now, pulling into a gas station to fill up. As you watch those numbers rise, know that oil company profits have never been higher. Yet somehow, Congress is still giving those same companies another four billion dollars of your money. That’s outrageous. It’s inexcusable. And it has to stop.
[What I'm not telling you:  Now on to the 'drilling' argument:  Had George Soros and I not thought placating the environmentalists was 'the way to go,' we--and by 'we' I mean Soros--could have developed an energy exploration, development and production plan which very well may have taken the United States out from under the 'OPEC thumb.' We--and by 'we' I mean Soros--didn't; we--and by 'we' I mean the American consumer--now have to suffer with energy prices that seem to rise by-the-minute!
All the aforementioned 'alternative energy sources' have shown to be unsustainable without massive federal subsidies.  Much like me purchasing General Motors with taxpayer money, the subsidies to 'green-turned-black' energy companies do little more than prop up poor managements, unworkable business models.  Let's go back to the mid-19th century I spoke of earlier:  Did Henry Ford get massive federal subsidies to develop his Model T, the most successful automobile in history?!?  Did George Eastman get massive federal subsidies to develop materials that evolved into the Eastman-Kodak Company?!?  Did that 'Wizard of Menlo Park,' Thomas Edison get massive federal subsidies to 'light-the-world?!?'  ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!  Each of these businesses had to 'stand-or-fall' on their individual viability.
That "...under my administration...." ditty?  That's is--and was designed to be--quite misleading!!  The real truth--which you'll never see admitted to anywhere else--is that most of the drilling permits in force today, are the product of that evil George W. Bush!!  My regime has approved precious few new drilling permits; part of a continuing effort to force the American economy to accept alternative energy sources.  The regime's 'all-of-the-above' energy strategy is quite similar to "throwing gobs-of-shit at the barn wall, hoping at least some will stick!!"
All the new drilling permits; the removal of delivery 'bottlenecks;' trying to second-guess foreign energy markets, doesn't mean 'squat' in the whole scheme-of-things.  The EPA-in it's infinite wisdom--has regulated new refining facilities practically out-of-existence.  The energy companies are forced to spend untold billions-of-dollars just to prepare for the EPA and Department of Energy permitting processes!  Most older refineries on the Gulf Coast are only equipped to refine 'Brent Sweet' crude oil while refineries in the mid-west are capable of processing 'West Texas Intermediate' crude.  Very few refineries have been upgraded to process "later-generation" variations of crude oil.  No matter who says what: the onus is on the owe-bama Regime for this kerfuffle!!]
A century of subsidies to the oil companies is long enough. It’s time to end taxpayer giveaways to an industry that’s never been more profitable, and use that money to reduce our deficit and double-down on a clean energy industry that’s never been more promising. Because of the investments we’ve already made, the use of wind and solar energy in this country has nearly doubled – and thousands of Americans have jobs because of it. And because we put in place the toughest fuel economy standards in history, our cars will average nearly 55 miles per gallon by the middle of the next decade – something that, over time, will save the typical family more than $8,000 at the pump. Now Congress needs to keep that momentum going by renewing the clean energy tax credits that will lead to more jobs and less dependence on foreign oil.  Look, we know there’s no silver bullet that will bring down gas prices or reduce our dependence on foreign oil overnight. But what we can do is get our priorities straight, and make a sustained, serious effort to tackle this problem. That’s the commitment we need right now. And with your help, it’s a commitment we can make.
[What I'm not telling you:  Certainly, there are subsidies to the oil companies!  Certainly, it's money that might be better-spent elsewhere!  A secondary affect of oil company subsidies is lower retail product prices.  We could end said subsidies, but at what cost; at what pain-level to the American consumer?!?
"....double-down on a clean energy industry that's never been more promising...."
Who--exactly--believes that bullshit?!?  As I mentioned previously, the green-turned-black energy sector exists primarily for the regime to transfer taxpayer 'wealth' to owe-bamacRATic and owe-bama campaign supporters, seemingly without the ruler's "fingerprints" on the transfers!!  Why is 'doubling-down' be any more productive, profitable than the previous 'singling-down' by the owe-bama regime that came just days and weeks prior to the seveal companies' bankruptcy filings?!?  The several energy alternatives are currently unsustainable and thus will currently cost the American taxpayer far more than they'll ever realize.  Let the alternatives live-and-die by consumer demand, product viability, much like the aforemention industrial titans!!  Wake up, America!!  The owe-bama regime--and by that I mean SOROS--will continue to circumvent the United States Constitution; circumvent all logic, until the Congress steps in to force us to stop.  And--rest assured--we WILL NOT stop until forced to do so!!  Soros does admit--by the way--these price issues, these production issues and these tax issues are a direct aid to the owe-bama class-warfare strategy!!]
