This'n'That; March Twenty-Ninth #1; Another Scam?

They're Everywhere; They're Everywhere!!
    I consider myself 'Honest-to-a-fault!'  As such, I expect everyone to be the same; alas-they are not!  The "Stauer" scam comes to mind as the greatest (worst) one I've been involved in.  I mentioned it twice in this blog: on Nov 17 [StauerScam; Hero; Food Security] and December 8, 2008 [EPA; Stauer; Ford]; the December 8th entry having the most information-details.  A new one has surfaced, albeit local.
    "Legends 102.7," WLGZ; an FM 'classic rock' station in Rochester, N.Y., has a morning trivia contest by which the winner is awarded 'lunch-for-two' at a local "choke-and-puke:" Nick's Seabreeze Inn.  A closer read of the certificates indicates that the winner is awarded:
  • Two (2) separate $7.50 Certificates;
  • To be used on (2) separate visits;
  • Lunch Only, Monday-Friday;
  • Limit one certificate per table, and
  • the certificate cannot be used for tipping, alcoholic beverages, take outs or refunds.
    What-ta-Hell good is the certificate if the winner and his or her date must sit at different tables in order to use both certificates on the same date or day?!?  The "young-miss-lovely" is good at trivia and over the course of a week, won certificates for herself and two co-workers and their husbands/dates.  Until they got the certificates, the plan was to meet for a meal....EXCEPT.... the certificates are only good for lunch; only good Monday through Friday!! Everyone works!  The winner and her co-workers work too far away to use the certificates during the daily lunch period.  So much for 'a good thing!'
Til Nex'Time....
