What the National Pamphleteers Don't Report:
Georgia's Lethal Drugs about to Expire
Wat'ta hell difference does it make-death is the ultimate objective!
by Rhonda Cook; Bill Rankin,

Undated Material
The Legislature on Tuesday approved keeping secret the identities of the companies that provide drugs for executions even as the Department of Corrections is preparing to destroy its stockpile of 13 vials because it expires this month.
Such information as the expiration date — which was obtained in an open records request by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution — could be withheld from the public if Gov. Nathan Deal signs House Bill 122. The proposed law, which Corrections officials sought, would make the identities of those who make and supply the lethal injection drug a “state secret,” which means Georgia would have the discretion to hide the information.
The proposed law also makes a state secret the names of prison staff who carry out executions. For decades, the Georgia has kept the names of security staff secret. It would now shield the names of private doctors the prison system hires to carry out executions.
The legislation should make it easier for Georgia to obtain lethal injection drugs as com-
panies worldwide, in the face of strong criticism from opponents of capital punishment, have either stopped making lethal injection drugs or forbidden such drugs from being used for executions. Just two years ago, it was disclosed [....]

New Conservative Group Rips RNC Report
by Sterling Beard,
thehill.com
March 25, 2013
The Republican Party’s Growth and Opportunity project has another critic, this time from a newly formed get-out-the-vote (GOTV) oriented super-PAC.  The Real Conservatives National Committee (Real CNC), a new super-PAC designed to aid conservatives in the 2014 midterm elections, slammed the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) report, calling it “too late and unhelpful to grassroots conservatives.”
“This report (or 'Autopsy') says what we have known all along — that unfocused and undisciplined campaign tactics will not win elections,” Lorie Medina, chairman of the Real CNC, said in a release.  “It is also ridiculous to spend $10 million on a ‘re-branding campaign,’ ” Medina said, labeling it the “type of strategy that doomed the party in 2012.”  The RNC’s report, released last week, was met with [....]

50 Vetoes: How States can stop obamaKare Law
by Michael Cannon,
cato.org
March 21, 2013
Despite surviving a number of threats, President Obama’s health care law remains harmful, unstable, and unpopular. It also remains vulnerable to repeal, largely because Congress and the Supreme Court have granted each state the power to veto major provisions of the law before they take effect in 2014.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) itself empowers states to block the employer mandate, to exempt many of their low- and middle-income taxpayers from the individual mandate, and to reduce federal deficit spending, simply by not establishing a health insurance “exchange.” Supporters of the law do not care for this feature, yet they adopted it because they had no choice. The bill would not have become law without it.
To date, 34 states, accounting for roughly two-thirds of the U.S. population, have refused to create Exchanges. Under the statute, this shields employers in those states from a $2,000 per worker tax that will apply in states that are creating Exchanges (e.g., California, Colorado, New York). Those 34 states have exempted at least 8 million residents from taxes as high as $2,085 on families of four earning as little as $24,000. They have also reduced federal deficits by hundreds of billions of dollars.
The Obama administration is nevertheless attempting to tax those employers and individuals, contrary to the plain language of the PPACA and congressional intent, and to deny millions of Americans the opportunity to purchase low-cost, high-deductible coverage. Employers, consumers, and even state officials in those 34 states can [....]

The 4,200-person agency has just hired a new “executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans.” Fox News reports that the position apparently commands a six-figure salary, as the new director—a former aide to Representative Charlie Rangel (D–NY)—will receive a starting salary of $123,758.  obama signed an executive order to form the new White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans last July. Gun Store Cancels Giffords' Husband's AR-15 Purchase
by Mike Opelka,
theblaze.com
March 26, 2013
An Arizona gun store cancelled a purchase made by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords’s husband Mark Kelly. On March 5th, Kelly visited Diamondback Police Supply in Tucson, selected an AR-15 style rifle, a .45 caliber handgun, and some high capacity magazines, completed a background check and paid for his purchases.
Within days, the story broke nationally and Kelly claimed that his purchases were made to highlight how easy it is to get a gun. He also added that he intended to turn the AR-15 into the Tucson Police. The story sparked almost 4,000 comments to Mark Kelly’s public Facebook page, many of them not very supportive of his intentions.

March 23, 2013
On Thursday, Terry M. Hestilow, a retired Army officer with nearly 30 years of service under his belt, as well as combat experience in both Vietnam and Afghanistan issued a dire warning to all Americans.
The following warning was posted on Hestilow's Facebook page:
Captain Terry M. Hestilow, United States Army, Retired
I fully intend to address this in far greater detail within days, but ask yourself, with all the law enforcement available in the United States, who the DHS is preparing to declare war on inside the U.S.?
With the massive purchases of almost 3,000 new armored vehicles (MRAPs) and 1.6 BILLION rounds of ammunition, with associated weapons, who in the U.S. do they intend to kill? Short answer: You and me! Anyone they think is standing in their way to impose a new Marxist government! Anyone who stands for the U.S. Constitution!
We must demand that our representatives (Senators and U.S. Representatives) stand firm and immediately force, by law if necessary, the DHS turn over their arsenal of war making equipment to the Department of Defense. Nothing justifies this [....]

U.N. Gun Control Treaty Will Test U.S. Resolve
by "Chuck Biscuits,"
CNSnews.com
March 28, 2013
Diplomats from the United States and 192 other countries hope to wrap up negotiations by a Thursday deadline on a global conventional arms trade treaty that has eluded the United Nations for more than a decade
Among the yet-to-be-resolved issues that will test the Obama administration’s commitment to its self-declared “red lines” is whether the arms trade treaty (ATT) will cover ammunition in a comprehensive way.
One of those red lines, laid down by the administration after it decided in October 2009 to reverse its predecessor’s opposition and take part in ATT negotiations, states: “There will be no requirement for reporting on or marking and tracing of ammunition or explosives.”
Yet the most recent version of the draft under consideration in New York includes a clause saying: “Each State Party [that is, a country that ratifies the treaty] shall establish and maintain a national control system to regulate the export of ammunition for conventional arms under the scope of this Treaty.”
The draft goes on to say that, “prior to authorizing any export of ammunition,” state parties must apply requirements of the treaty prohibiting transfers that would violate arms embargoes or facilitate acts of genocide, crimes against humanity or war crimes.
The U.S. is the world’s biggest arms trader, and produces more than seven billion rounds of ammunition a year. The U.S. delegate at the talks, Assistant Secretary Thomas Countryman, has said that including ammunition in the ATT would be “hugely impractical.”
Well over 100 countries have made clear their support [....]

Is This The Scandal That Will Bring Obama Down?
by Floyd Brown; Mary Beth Brown,
gopusa.com
January 11, 2013
It's even worse than we previously thought. A retired four-star admiral is now claiming that Barack Obama intentionally conspired with America's enemies to stage a bogus attack and the kidnapping of an American ambassador so he could "negotiate" the release of a "hostage" and bolster his mediocre approval ratings just prior to the election?
The Washington Examiner, quoting retired Four-Star Admiral James Lyons, writes: "the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi... was the result of a bungled abduction attempt.... the first stage of an international prisoner exchange... that would have ensured the release of Omar Abdel Rahman, the 'Blind Sheik'..."
But something went horribly wrong with Obama's "October Surprise." Although the Obama Administration intentionally gutted security at the consulate prior to the staged kidnapping, former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty disobeyed direct orders to stand down, saved American lives, single-handedly killed scores of attackers...and the attackers, believing that the Obama had betrayed them, tortured Ambassador Chris Stevens and dragged his body through the streets.
Some will say that Admiral Lyons' accusation is not a smoking gun. We agree, that's exactly why Congress must investigate Benghazi-gate.
Moreover, we firmly believe [....]

{"Tammy Faye"} Boehner: "I Absolutely Trust obama
by  Ben Shapiro,
breitbart.com
March 17, 2013
On ABC's This Week, hosted by Martha Raddatz, Speaker of the House John ("Tammy Faye") Boehner appeared to downplay the problem of national debt while loudly proclaiming his wonderful relationship with "clown Prince" obama. "The president and I, as I have made very clear, have a very good relationship.  We're open with each other.  We're honest with each other," said ("Tammy Faye") Boehner.
“Do you trust President Obama?” Raddatz asked.
“Absolutely,” Boehner replied.
“Absolutely?” Raddatz emphasized.
“Absolutely,” Boehner repeated.
Framing Republicans as out-of-touch radicals, Raddatz then asked, “President Obama says these meetings are intended to find members of the common-sense caucus who he can make a deal with …. Are you not a member of the common-sense caucus?”  Boehner, falling for the trap, shot back, “I’m part of the common-sense caucus. We appreciate the outreach. We appreciate the engagement from the president. But it’s gonna take more than this if we’re serious about solving our problems.”
Then Boehner dropped the bombshell. Raddatz, after quoting President Obama saying we don’t have “an immediate crisis in terms of debt,” asked Boehner for his thoughts. And Boehner eagerly agreed: “We do not have an immediate debt crisis. But we all know that we have one looming …. It could be a year or two years, three years, four years. It’s not an immediate problem.” And then Boehner said he agreed with Obama on the immediacy of the problem.  With Republicans fighting tooth and nail to implement solutions necessary to reducing the national debt, Boehner’s language certainly undermines the [....]

'G.I. Joe' Movie Slammed as Anti-obama Conservative's Fantasy!

March 30, 2013
Some have called the latest G.I. Joe flick “pretty bad” but “not completely horrible” – yet still “terrible” — for its plotline and script. But a liberal blog has an idea of people who might like it — conservatives or, more specifically as they put it, the “paranoid wingnut.”
As Asawin Suebsaeng wrote on the liberal-leaning website Mother Jones, “G.I. Joe Retaliation” is “the anti-Obama Conservative’s fantasy.”
What does Suebsaeng see in the sequel to “G.I. Joe: the Rise of the Cobra” that puts it in the category of “political trolling”?
The U.S. president in the movie, a Democrat, is a person foreign-born, who lies about it, and who also uses drones against American citizens, among other features. Without saying it, Suebsaeng seems to be alluding that this person is representative of [....]

Big School Voucher Plan OK'd
Indiana Court upholds nation's broadest program.
by Charles Wilson; Tom LoBianco,
olivesoftware.com
March , 2013
The Indiana Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the law creating the nation’s broadest school voucher program, clearing the way for a possible expansion.
In a 5-0 vote, the justices rejected claims that the law primarily benefited religious institutions that run private schools and accepted arguments that it gave families choice and allowed parents to determine where the money went.
The court said the law did not violate the state constitution’s guarantee of religious freedom or a ban on the use of state funds for religious institutions. It noted that while the Indiana Constitution does not allow direct spending on religious institutions, it doesn’t prohibit them from receiving indirect government services, “such as fire and police protection, municipal water and sewage service, sidewalks and streets.”
The Indiana case has received national attention because the program has wide eligibility. Middle-class families are allowed to participate in Indiana, while in most states, such programs are limited to low-income families or those in failing schools. Jeff Reed, spokesman for the Fried-man Foundation for Educational Choice, said 530,000 Indiana students qualify for vouchers.
The Milwaukee Parental Choice Program is the nation’s largest in terms of actual enrollment. That program, enacted in 1990, had 24,027 participants this school year, Reed said. The Indiana program has 9,000 students actually enrolled.
The Indiana State Teachers Association had filed suit over the program, saying it drained money from public schools. Its attorney, John West, told the court in November that virtually all of the voucher money goes to schools whose primary purpose is to promote the teachings of their affiliated churches.
Teacher Teresa Meredith, the main plaintiff in the lawsuit and vice president of the Indiana State Teachers Association, called the ruling a setback for public education. [....]

Most Illegal Immigrant Families Collect Welfare

March 31. 2013
Surprise, surprise; Census Bureau data reveals that most U.S. families headed by illegal immigrants use taxpayer-funded welfare programs on behalf of their American-born anchor babies.Even before the recession, immigrant households with children used welfare programs at consistently higher rates than natives, according to the extensive census data collected and analyzed by a nonpartisanWashington D.C. group dedicated to researching legal and illegal immigration in the U.S. The results, published this month in a lengthy report, are hardly surprising.Basically, the majority of households across the country benefitting from publicly-funded welfare programs are headed by immigrants, both legal and illegal. States where immigrant households with children have the highest welfare use rates are Arizona (62%), Texas, California and New York with 61% each and Pennsylvania(59%).The study focused on eight major welfare programs that cost the government $517 billion the year they were examined. They include Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for the disabled, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), a nutritional program known as Women, Infants and Children (WIC), food stamps, free/reduced school lunch, public housing and health insurance for the poor (Medicaid).Food assistance and Medicaid are the programs most commonly used by illegal immigrants, mainly on behalf of [....]

Federal employees who don’t pay taxes would be fired
by Alex Pappas
dailycaller.com
March 20, 2013
Citing figures indicating that more than 100,000 federal employees owe more than $1 billion in federal taxes, a House committee on Wednesday approved legislation that would require the firing of government workers who are “seriously tax delinquent.”
The legislation, introduced by Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, advanced through the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. It now has to pass the full House to be implemented into law.
“Most taxpayers file accurate tax returns and pay the taxes they owe on time, regardless of their income,” Chaffetz, a Republican, said during the hearing Wednesday. “Federal employees and individuals applying for federal employment should do the same.”
The Federal Employee Tax Accountability Act of 2013 requires the termination of employment for tax delinquent federal employees, while also prohibiting the hiring of new federal employees with a substantial amount of delinquent tax debt.
“The intent of the bill is simple,” Chaffetz said. “If you are a federal employee or applicant, you should be making a good faith effort to pay your taxes or to dispute them, as all taxpayers have the right to do.”
Chaffetz explained that the term “seriously tax delinquent” is defined as having an outstanding federal tax debt where a notice of lien has been publicly filed.
The bill exempts employees who can demonstrate financial hardships and an effort of working to settle tax liabilities.
Democrats on the committee opposed the bill. Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings, the ranking member on the committee, said the legislation “seeks to demonize federal employees rather than ensure their compliance with tax obligations.”
“By requiring agencies to fire employees for not paying their taxes on time, the measure actually undermines the ability of the government to collect the unpaid taxes,” Cummings said. “It is much, much, much more difficult to recoup the delinquent taxes from someone who is unemployed.”
The legislation requires agencies [....]

Can It Happen Here?
by Dr Thomas Sowell,
creators.com
March 26, 2013
The decision of the government in Cyprus to simply take money out of people's bank accounts there sent shock waves around the world. People far removed from that small island nation had to wonder: "Can this happen here?"
The economic repercussions of having people feel that their money is not safe in banks can be catastrophic. Banks are not just warehouses where money can be stored. They are crucial institutions for gathering individually modest amounts of money from millions of people and transferring that money to strangers whom those people would not directly entrust it to.
Multi-billion dollar corporations, whose economies of scale can bring down the prices of goods and services — thereby raising our standard of living — are seldom financed by a few billionaires.
Far more often they are financed by millions of people, who have neither the specific knowledge nor the economic expertise to risk their savings by investing directly in those enterprises. Banks are crucial intermediaries, which provide the financial expertise without which these transfers of money are too risky.
There are poor nations with rich natural resources, which are not developed because they lack either the sophisticated financial institutions necessary to make these key transfers of money or because their legal or political systems are too unreliable for people to put their money into these financial intermediaries.
Whether in Cyprus or in other countries, politicians tend to think in [....]

In the Race to be Cheap, Politics Wins
by John Ransom,
townhall.com
March 27, 2013
Stocks in the S&P 500 are now at record low valuations; the market trades as cheaply as it did in 1980 as measured by price-to-earnings, or PE, ratios, trading at a PE ratio of 15.4 times earnings.
While retail stock investors have largely been stuck on the sidelines, the stock market has made new highs. But despite the upward surge, things aren't as rosy for Wall Street as one might suppose.
Although individuals have added almost $20 billion to U.S. stock funds so far this year, the amount is just 3.5 percent of the withdrawals since 2007, Investment News.com reported, and compares with $44 billion placed with fixed-income managers in 2013, according to the Investment Company Institute.
Fund inflows tend to buttress the beliefs of those who think the stock market’s short-term bull run can continue. As the old adage goes, individual investors don’t make money in the market, they just borrow from the institutions for a while.
The lack of participation by retail investors in the continuing rally would seem to indicate we have yet to hit a top -- because the retail money has yet to hit the market.  And that’s the line of reasoning I would have used 10 years ago.  But a lot has changed in 10 years.
There’s a growing sense of alienation between Wall Street and Main Street. Much of the alienation has to do with the lack of the right type of oversight on money and markets. That lack of confidence, which is largely political in nature, hurts PEs.
Last week, Attorney General Eric Holder [....]

Jihadist Welfare Queen

March 28, 2013
Following Uncle Sam’s coughing up of the jizya to Egypt, here’s another angle on the Islamic sheikhdown racket from the United Kingdom — Anjem Choudary, a jihadist imam who urges his followers to soak British welfare and look on it as “Jihad Seeker’s Allowance”:
A controversial Muslim cleric will not face action despite telling his followers to claim benefits and saying David Cameron should be killed.
Telling fellow fanatics to claim ‘jihad seeker’s allowance’, Anjem Choudary, who in the past has planned to disrupt the minute’s silence on Remembrance Sunday, also openly mocked hard-working Britons, calling them ‘slaves’.
The Sun newspaper secretly filmed him saying Islam will overrun Europe, David Cameron and Barack Obama should be killed, and called the Queen ‘ugly’.
That’s pretty funny for a bloke so insecure he won’t let his womenfolk out of their head-to-toe body bags — and isn’t exactly Prince Charming himself. But here’s the point: Her Majesty’s laughably misnamed Department of Work and Pensions provides a half-million-dollar house for Choudary to live in at public expense, and [....]

Obama Ignores Nullification
by Tim Brown,
freedomoutpost.com
March 25, 2013
In a move that is reminiscent of the tyrannical actions of Abraham Lincoln that led to the War of Northern Aggression, Barack Obama says that he will not wait on states to enforce Obamacare. Instead his administration has announced its intent is to completely disregard the state’s Tenth Amendment rights to nullification of the Obamacare law, via their passed legislation and state constitutions. In fact, his administration has said that in states where they refuse to comply with federal healthcare mandates that agents from the Department of Health and Human Services will assume absolute control over the state’s health insurance industry. Politico reports,
Insurance regulation is a huge responsibility that’s been closely guarded by the states. That’s why the Obama administration and those closely watching the rollout of Obamacare believe that even states that have sworn off the law’s coverage expansions will still enforce its new measures — including new benefit mandates, cost-sharing guidelines and rules on how insurers rate customers — to retain control over their health insurance markets.
But the feds will be overseeing the health care law in Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming after those states told HHS they couldn’t or wouldn’t implement the new rules.
“We are enforcing because Oklahoma notified … that it has not enacted legislation to enforce or that it is otherwise not enforcing the Affordable Care Act market reform provisions,” Gary Cohen, director of the federal Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight, wrote to the Oklahoma Insurance Department on Friday. Officials in Missouri, Texas and Wyoming received similar letters, an agency spokeswoman said. The enforcement letters come a little more than a month after a Commonwealth Fund report found just 11 states and Washington had started to adjust state laws to prepare for seven major ACA insurance reforms taking effect in 2014.
In a statement by Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak he said, “It is unfortunate that health insurers are being forced into a system of dual regulation by the overreaching Obama administration. My position on this has never wavered, and I welcome every opportunity to try to overturn Obamacare.”
In a letter sent to Cohen, it was clearly stated that the Oklahoma Insurance Department does not have the authority [....]

The Muslim Brotherhood in the Obama Administration
by Frank Gaffney,

If anyone needed evidence that Hillary Clinton is in the pocket of the Muslim Brotherhood, the events of the last few days should be more than sufficient.  On the anniversary of 9/11, on what should be a day of shame for the Muslim world, the US Embassy in Cairo issued a statement condemning critics of Islamofascism in language appropriate to the office of propaganda for the Muslim Brotherhood. Islamofascists launched violent attacks on Americans, repeating the outrages in miniature of the World Trade Center attacks 11 years ago. In the face of these outrages the posture of the U.S. government is one that would make Neville Chamberlain blush. In four years Barack Obama has managed to turn the entire Middle East over to America’s enemies. So that our readers [....]

If you want to get paid for doing something stupid, just turn to the U.S. government.  The U.S. government is paying researchers to play video games, it is paying researchers to study the effects of cocaine on Japanese quail and it has spent millions of dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly.  The amount of money that the government wastes is absolutely horrifying.  Do you remember all of that political wrangling over the debt ceiling deal last year?  Do you remember how our politicians told us that there were cutting spending as much as they possibly could?  Well, it was all a giant lie.  As you will see below, the U.S. government is spending money on some of the most stupid things imaginable.  What makes all of this even worse is that we are going into enormous amounts of debt in order to pay for all of this.  We are borrowing billions of dollars a day in order to pay for stupid stuff that no government on earth [....]

Israel's Insightful Cynicism
by Robert D. Kaplan,
STRATfor.com
March 27, 2013
Israel is in the process of watching a peace treaty unravel. I don't mean the one with Egypt, but the one with Syria. No, I'm not crazy. Since Henry Kissinger's shuttle diplomacy in 1974, the Israelis have had a de facto peace agreement of sorts with the al Assad family. After all, there were clear red lines that both sides knew they shouldn't cross, as well as reasonable predictability on both sides. Forget about the uplifting rhetoric, the requirement to exchange ambassadors and the other public policy frills that normally define peace treaties. What counts in this case is that both sides observed limits and constraints, so that the contested border between them was secure. Even better, because there was no formal peace agreement in writing, neither side had to make inconvenient public and strategic concessions. Israel did not have to give up the Golan Heights, for example. And if Syria stepped over a red line in Lebanon, or say, sought a nuclear capacity as it did, Israel was free to punish it through targeted military strikes. There was usefully no peace treaty that Israel would have had to violate.
Of course, the Syrians built up a chemical arsenal and invited the Iranians all over their country and Lebanon. But no formal treaty in the real world -- given the nature of the Syrian regime -- would likely have prevented those things. In an imperfect world of naked power, the al Assads were at least tolerable. Moreover, they represented a minority sect, which prevented Syria from becoming a larger and much more powerful version of radical, Sunni Arab Gaza. In February 1993 in The Atlantic Monthly, I told readers that [....]

But when I saw this last night, I have to tell you I just got viscerally sad. I became depressed and I didn't try to disguise it. I just... It was a feeling of utter frustration at what is happening in our country, particularly culturally. There is a personality on MSNBC whose name is Toure. He's black, and he is a young fool.
He is a classic example of somebody who is dangerous precisely because of what he thinks he knows that isn't right, and he took it upon himself to try to destroy Dr. Ben Carson. He did it in a vile, almost uncivilized manner. The things that he said about Ben Carson were just filthy. They were despicable. It was worse than calling him an Uncle Tom. What depressed me was that Toure -- this young fool Toure -- doesn't deserve to be in the same conversation with Ben Carson. This Toure could live a thousand years; he'll never be anywhere near what Ben Carson is.
And he doesn't get called on any of this trash that he talks.

Emerging Market Debt:  Harnessing Positive Fundamentals
Staff Report,
lplgraphics.com
March 8, 2013
Based on the current low-yield environment, we believe the next two to five years will likely present a challenging period for bonds. Therefore, you may want to consider fixed income asset classes outside of traditional core allocations. The emerging market debt (EMD) asset class is one potential opportunity for investors searching for supplementary options. In this Asset Class Review, we discuss the key fundamental trends, the different segments, and several risks in the EMD asset class. We also review three EMD funds on the LPL Financial Research Mutual Fund Recommended List.
Fundamental Trends
Outside of the United States, major countries represented in the developed bond market include Japan, Italy, Germany, and France. Examples of major emerging market countries represented in the EMD asset class are Brazil, Turkey, Russia, and Mexico. A positive for emerging market countries overall is that they may continue to grow at faster than developed nations. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), emerging market economies, as measured by gross domestic product (GDP), are forecast to grow two-to-three times faster [....]

(NoMo) Cuomo's Shameful SAFE Act
Rushed law is bad law, even when it’s “for the children.”
by Charles C. W. Cooke,
nationalreview.com
March 25, 2013
All things being equal, New York State’s infamous new gun laws will go down in history as a prime example of the folly of hysterical calls to action; and Governor Andrew Cuomo, who led the chase for the measures, will join them in disgrace. After 20 children were killed in Newtown, Conn., last December, progressives saw a golden opportunity to reverse the liberalizing tide of recent firearms law and leverage the national outrage in favor of long-desired gun-control codes. Freed by his reelection, the president declared, in an increasingly tiresome formulation, “Now is the time to do the right thing for our children, our communities, and the country we love.” In Albany, it appears that the governor took him literally.
Legislation cast in the wake of tragedy invariably carries with it [....]

Europe's Disturbing Precedent in the Cyprus Bailout
by George Friedman,
STRATfor.com
March 26, 2013
The European economic crisis has taken different forms in different places, and Cyprus is the latest country to face the prospect of financial ruin. Overextended banks in Cyprus are teetering on the brink of failure for issuing loans they cannot repay, which has prompted the tiny Mediterranean country, a member of the European Union, to turn to Brussels for help. Late Sunday, the European Union and Cypriot president announced new terms for a bailout that would provide the infusion of cash necessary to prevent bankruptcies in Cyprus' banking sector and, more important, prevent a banking panic from spreading to the rest of Europe.
What makes this crisis different from the previous bailouts for Greece, Ireland or elsewhere are the conditions Brussels has attached for its assistance. Due to circumstances unique to Cyprus, namely the questionable origin of a large chunk of the deposits in its now-stricken banking sector and that sector's small size relative to the overall European economy, the European Union, led by Germany, has taken a [....]

Are We Equal?
by Dr Walter E. Williams,
creators.com
March 25, 2013
Are women equal to men? Are Jews equal to gentiles? Are blacks equal to Italians, Irish, Polish and other white people? The answer is probably a big fat no, and the pretense or assumption that we are equal — or should be equal — is foolhardy and creates mischief. Let's look at it.
Male geniuses outnumber female geniuses 7-to-1. Female intelligence is packed much closer to the middle of the bell curve, whereas men's intelligence has far greater variability. That means that though there are many more male geniuses, there are also many more male idiots. The latter might partially explain why more men are in jail than women.
Watch any Saturday afternoon college basketball game and ask yourself the question fixated in the minds of liberals everywhere: "Does this look like America?" Among the 10 players on the court, at best there might be two white players. If you want to see the team's white players, you must look at the bench. A Japanese or Chinese player is close to being totally out of the picture, even on the bench. Professional basketball isn't much better, with 80 percent of the players being black, but at least there's a Chinese player. Professional football isn't much better, with blacks being 65 percent. In both sports, blacks are among the highest-paid players and have the highest number of awards for excellence. Blacks who trace their ancestry to West Africa, including black Americans, hold more than 95 percent of the top times in sprinting.
By contrast, blacks are [....]

FBI being sued over powerful Stingray cellphone tracking system
Staff Report,
rt.com
March 28, 2013
As cell phone users face an inundation of new evidence of the use of their phone data without their knowledge, this week’s hearing regarding the FBI tracking technology known as “Stingray” is one especially worth following.
The technology in question, known formally as International Mobile Subscriber Identity locators, allow both the FBI and, in at least several documented cases, local law enforcement the capacity to filter through a large amount of cellphone data in a given region and locate one specific signal - and thus a suspect.
What troubles privacy advocates is that such tools, in this case one sold under the Stingray brand, operate by fooling cellphones into believing that they are connecting to a cell tower, when in fact they are linking up to a surveillance tool. What’s more, the technology vacuums [....]

The White House announced Thursday the formation of a nine-seat Presidential Commission on Election Administration tasked with recommending changes to states’ election laws by the end of September.
“The Commission shall identify best practices and otherwise make recommendations to promote the efficient administration of elections in order to ensure that all eligible voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots without undue delay, and to improve the experience of voters facing other obstacles,” said Obama’s executive order, issued March 28.

Picture of 'Martial Law' Alarms Forensic Profiler
Comments described as 'potential major warning' of obama's intent
by Bob Unruh,
wnd.com
March 23, 2013
A forensic profiler who worked on the disappearance of Natalie Holloway and the double-murder case against O.J. Simpson says he is becoming alarmed by some of the references President Obama is using.
Andrew G. Hodges, M.D., who wrote “The Obama Confession: Secret Fear, Secret Fury,” previously said Obama’s statement “I am not a dictator” actually meant, “I am the dictator president.”
Hodges also concluded Obama unconsciously confessed to stealing the 2012 election.
On Hodges’ website, Steven A. Egger, associate professor of criminology at the University of Houston, Clear Lake, has written that Hodges’ technique is “becoming the cutting edge of forensic science.”
“Dr. Hodges’ investigation of forensic documents in the Natalee Holloway case indicates that his ‘thoughtprint decoding method’ and ‘reading between the lines’ is, in fact, becoming a major contribution to law enforcement tools used by criminal investigators,” wrote Egger.
Hodges is not new to the field, already having identified killers by studying ransom notes, emails, letters and police interviews to spot secret confessions. He decoded Simpson’s “suicide note” to confirm Simpson had committed a double murder. He deciphered the JonBenet Ramsey ransom note in Boulder, Colo., to identify the child’s killer. He decrypted letters from BTK to predict that he was about to kill again – the only profiler to do so. He studied statements by Joran van der Sloot and Deepak Kalpoe to tie them to the slaying of Holloway. He showed how Casey Anthony secretly confessed to killing her daughter in 200 letters written to a jail mate. He even decoded Bill Clinton’s comments about Monica Lewinsky.
See all the details in Hodges’ book “The Obama Confession.”
In his newest analysis, he looks further into Obama’s statements in his press conference about the sequester issue in which he berated Republicans for not doing what he wants.
Hodges said “another spontaneous image” appeared from Obama’s “super intelligence.” [....]

900k come off Sickness Benefit Rather Than Test
Nearly 900,000 individuals dropped their claims rather than be tested
by Patrick Hennessy,
telegraph.co.uk
March 30, 2013
The 878,300 who decided not to have an official assessment of whether they were fit for work was more than a third of the total number of people claiming sickness-related benefits.  The statistics also revealed that some claimants cited conditions such as “blisters”, “sprains and strains” and “acne” as preventing them from having a job.  More than 46,120 people claimed incapacity benefit because of “behavioural disorders due to the use of alcohol” while 29,130 claimants cited drug use.  Last night ministers said the figures showed the full extent of how millions had been “trapped on welfare” for decades.  Grant Shapps, the Conservative Party chairman, said the old system was “evil” and accused Labour of using sickness benefits to “hide the unemployed” when [....]

"Clown Prince" Weekly Blather; March 30th

A Patriotic Response to the "Clown Prince;" 03/30/013
barackingham Palace,
District of Corruption
March 30, 2013
It has now been three months since the tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut. Three months since we lost 20 innocent children and six dedicated adults who had so much left to give. Three months since we, as Americans, began asking ourselves if we’re really doing enough to protect our communities and keep our children safe.  For the families who lost a loved one on that terrible day, three months doesn’t even begin to ease the pain they’re feeling right now. It doesn’t come close to mending the wounds that may never fully heal.  But as a nation, the last three months have changed us. They’ve forced us to answer some difficult questions about what we can do – what we must do – to prevent the kinds of massacres we’ve seen in Newtown and Aurora and Oak Creek, as well as the everyday tragedies that happen far too often in big cities and small towns all across America.  Today there is still genuine disagreement among well-meaning people about what steps we should take to reduce the epidemic of gun violence in this country. But you – the American people – have spoken. You’ve made it clear that it’s time to do something. And over the last few weeks, Senators here in Washington have listened and taken some big steps forward.
[What I'm not telling you:  As you can see by the header, this blather was recorded at 'the palace' prior to my leaving for the latest in my campaign sweeps around the country.  Yes--as Rush Limbaugh daily reminds us--I continue to campaign for absolutely no future election!!  This campaign mode is highly valuable though; it keeps me 'on-the-road-again' like Willie Nelson says.  When I'm 'on-the-road-again' I'm away from barackingham Palace, where those of less-than-startling intelligence won't associate me with any of the negative aspects of the obamacratics' actions!  You're well aware how I so enjoy lining the children up behind me as I blather on about some subject however slightly associated with the aforementioned children.  In this case, it's kinda difficult to align all those caskets at an angle 15 degrees off vertical, you know like they did in those ol' timey western photographs.  Rather than go through all this, I've flown several parents to the Palace--at your expense, of course--for that blather opportunity.
As is the norm for me, I bring up at least 2, but preferably 3 or 4 of the previous large-scale shootings in confined places.  This time I'm referring to Newtown, Aurora and Oak Creek as the 'massacres-of-choice!!'  I'm sure those directly-affected relatives of the victims will never forget the referenced atrocities; I fully intend to continue to use said references, no matter the pain caused!!  If one truly reads the bills offered up by both me--your exalted ruler--and that dufus-"pinky" reid in the Senate, one will find that less than 1% of the actions put forth will have ANY impact on future possible atrocities involving hand- or long-guns!!  Although my obamacRATics continue to try; a body-politic can not legislate morality.  Need I remind you of prostitution, alcohol in the American Prohibition Era, gun confiscation during Adolf Hitler's Third-Reich?!?  Need I point out that my adopted "center-for-crime" Chicago--a city where guns are illegal for all EXCEPT criminals--has suffered OVER 500 weapons murders!!
Where's the outrage there?!?
Is the lack of outrage due to the non-white miscreants involved?!?
The obamacRATics have to use their less than stellar powers of logic to see the complete lack of success in their anti-gun programs!!
Still using the City of Chicago as the preeminent 'gun-control' example, the miscreant murderers wouldn't feel so comfortable if said city didn't restrict law-abiding citizens from carrying licensed, legal handguns!!  Even the most stupid among us; the most stupid in barackingham Palace, can see that an unarmed citizenry is a vulnerable citizenry!!]
Two weeks ago, the Senate advanced a bill that would make it harder for criminals and people with a severe mental illness from getting their hands on a gun – an idea supported by nine out of ten Americans, including a majority of gun owners.  The Senate also made progress on a bill that would crack down on anyone who buys a gun as part of a scheme to funnel it to criminals – reducing violent crime and protecting our law enforcement officers.  Finally, the Senate took steps to reinstate and strengthen a ban on the sale of military-style assault weapons, set a 10-round limit for magazines, and make our schools safer places for kids to learn and grow.  These ideas shouldn’t be controversial – they’re common sense. They’re supported by a majority of the American people. And I urge the Senate and the House to give each of them a vote.  As I’ve said before, we may not be able to prevent every act of violence in this country. But together, we have an obligation to try. We have an obligation to do what we can.
Right now, we have a real chance to reduce gun violence in America, and prevent the very worst violence. We have a unique opportunity to reaffirm our tradition of responsible gun ownership, and also do more to keep guns out of the hands of criminals or people with a severe mental illness.  We’ve made progress over the last three months, but we’re not there yet. And in the weeks ahead, I hope Members of Congress will join me in finishing the job – for our communities and, most importantly, for our kids.
[What I'm not telling you:  While I continue to quote various statistics that buttress my argument, I fail to quote those which do not support my position--which I guess is only logical with an administration based on lies!!   Are you interested in some of the statistics that I DON'T quote:
71% of Americans consider jobs and the economy more important than additional, more restrictive gun laws....
What we're failing to recognize is that fairly enforced, current gun laws will be more effective than 'stirring shit' among the citizenry for new, far more restrictive gun laws!!   Had we of the obama Regime NOT disliked and ignored the Constitution's Second Amendment, I'd have fired 'general' holder as soon as he screwed up HIS "Fast 'n' Furious" fiasco.  You'll note that I kept MYSELF as far away as possible from holder's murdering over 300 Mexican nationals--IN MEXICO--with the guns he had funneled across the southern border.  We--and by 'we' I mean holder--tried to absolve ourselves by comparing F 'n' F to an evil George W. Bush similar policy.  We failed to realize that President Bush stopped the program when he found that it didn't work... but NOT holder!!
It's becoming clearer and clearer:  when one considers the safety of law-abiding citizens with the federal and state governments' refusal and/or inability to enforce various prohibitions relative to guns.... handguns.... and criminals, nothing will ever change, no matter what law(s) is/are enacted!!]
