This'n'That; July Fifth #1; Lonsberry

The Army!
Bob Lonsberry's column (http://www.lonsberry.com/: "On The United States Army") of June Thirtieth dealt with his daughter Aubrey's induction into the US Army and his feelings, being the recruiting station at the time.  As is the norm, a well written article from the mind and the force behind http://www.fubowear.com/!!
For the uninitiated, Aubrey was a co-producer of her dad's daily radio program ("The Big Show," WHAM; 1180AM; http://www.wham1180.com/; 11AM-2PM, eastern) until last Friday at two, when she and her dad signed off; Aubrey for the last time!!
As former military, I wish her God Speed and best wishes for an honorable military career of any number of years!!

This'n'That; July Fourth #1; Boomin' North Dakota

The Correlation:
While wandering around the internet--putting together yesterday's 'The Sunday Report'--I ran across an article about North Dakota's economic boom involving the energy and agriculture industries.   Obviously, the primary reasons are oil and gas deposits as well as the state's vast tracts of farmland.  Secondarily, politics is a formadible player in the economy, in the various states as well as in the country as a whole.
North Dakota's Governor is a republicRAT: Jack Dalrymple.  This led me to search out other states having economic and jobs creation successes.  By-and-large, the most successful states seem to be governed by republicRATs.  Is there any wonder, here?!?
Take a look at some of the states I've discovered that have an unemployment rate less than the national average; greater than the national average:

(Rank; State; Unemployment Rate; Political Affiliation; Governor; Legislative Majority)

51. NEVADA                  12.1%           republicRAT: Sandoval (owe-bamacRATic Legislature)
Now, let's look at some statistics:
Of the top ten (North Dakota through Wyoming): 70% of the governors are republicRAT; 30% are owe-bamacRATs.
Of the top twenty-five (North Dakota through Texas): 60% of the governors are republicRAT; 40% are owe-bamacRATs.
Of the bottom ten (DC through Nevada): 60% of the governors are republicRAT; 30% of the governors (and 1 district/city mayor) are owe-bamacRAT; 10% of the governors are Independent.
Of the bottom twenty-five (Louisiana through Nevada): 52% of the governors are republicRAT; 44% of the governors  (abd 1 district/city mayor) are owe-bamacRATs; 4% of the governors are Independent.
Of the entire United States (50 states, 1 district): 56.9% of governors are republicRAT; 41.1% of governors (and 1 district mayor) are owe-bamacRAT; 2% of governors are Independent.
Of the entire United States: (50 states, 1 district):  59% of state legislatures (and 1 City Council) are owe-bamacRAT; 39% of state legislatures are republicRAT; 2% of state legislatures are non-partisan.
Of the entire United States: 62% of the states are below the national unemployment rate; 38% of the states are at or above the national rate.
    Now, my amateurish analysis:
If--and that's a BIG 'if'--truth and honesty are allowed to return to the history and text books, "Clown Prince" owe-bama will go down as the single most vile, most destructive ruler ever to be atop the American governmental process.  owe-bama will undoubtedly go down as the most controlled--and most controllable--marionette in American history!
These data and statistics clearly illustrate that much more than political affiliation is required to either enhance or destroy a state's or a country's economic stability and prosperity.  I'm just as guilty as the national pamphleteers in assigning blame based primarily on political affiliation!  In researching these data, it's become more and more obvious that land mass types, mineral deposits, manufacturing facilities, population centers and good-ol'-fashioned work ethic are more responsible for our economy than is the commie-lib, fascist, socialist mind-set.
The affiliation of any political sub-set cannot be ignored.  The individuals therein determine--for better or worse--the routes of the economic course, among others.  Just because a particular state may have vast tracts of mineral deposits does not mean the state will enact 'energy-friendly' legislation!  Take the bordering states of New York and Pennsylvania as examples.  Pennsylvania is reaping millions and possibly billions of dollars to their citizens as a result of allowing fracking in their portion of the Marcellus Formation's shale deposits.  Conversely, New York's legislative neanderthals have thusfar refused to approve the same benefits for their state's citizenry!  New York--for the umpteen-hundredth time--proves the axiom: "Ya can't fix STUPID!"

The Sunday 'Report;' 07/03/2011

What The National Pamphleteers Don't Report:
Winners and losers (Fast-food Chains)
Last reviewed: August 2011
Are some of the biggest and best-known chains low-rated because of the Walmart syndrome, in which the public enjoys taking potshots at the 800-pound gorilla? Not according to Tristano. "The large chains are consistent and they're everywhere, but they do get lower scores for their overall experience," he says. "It's not high quality that's driving traffic, it's good value, drive-thru, and convenience."   Fortunately, if you like fast food of any type, there are plenty of good choices.
For burger fans, the best restaurants include In-N-Out Burger, rated highest of all 53 chains, Burgerville (39 in Oregon and Washington), Five Guys Burgers and Fries (750 nationwide and in Canada), Culver's (428 mainly in the Midwest), and Back Yard Burgers (120 mostly in the South and East).
For Mexican food, Chipotle, Rubio's Fresh (180 in the West), Qdoba (500 nationally), and Baja Fresh (255 in 24 states and Dubai) earned high marks for food and service.

Unexpected NH Support Presses Perry Run, Aide Says

A top adviser to Texas Gov. Rick Perry says New Hampshire support for the governor’s potential presidential run was unexpected — especially since Perry has yet to visit the Granite State — and a decision will be made in the next several weeks, according to a UnionLeader.com blog.  “The amount of organic calls of support from New Hampshire has been surprising since [....]

The No-Baby Boom
A growing number of couples are choosing to live child-free. By Brian Frazer,
April 2011 Issue
This summer, 28-year-old Anthony Shepherd and his wife of seven years, Cynthia, will fly from China, where they've been teaching English since 2009, to Wisconsin for a vacation. In addition to relaxing, catching up with friends, and attending her brother's wedding, they plan on stopping by a vasectomy clinic. The People's Republic may be notorious for its one-child policy, but the Shepherds' attitude toward reproduction is even more stringent. Call it the zero-child policy.
Even before the Shepherds left Asheville, North Carolina, for Sichuan province, they'd made their life decision based on the experiences of their "childed" friends. "We watched them struggle to pay bills, find suitable apartments or houses to fit their families, and work at [....]

Fraud Fannie Mae Silence on Taylor Bean Led to $3 Billion Fraud
Thursday, 30 Jun 2011    The first sign of what would ultimately become a $3 billion fraud surfaced Jan. 11, 2000, when Fannie Mae executive Samuel Smith discovered Taylor, Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Corp. sold him a loan owned by someone else.  Fannie Mae, the government-sponsored enterprise which issues almost half of all mortgage-backed securities, determined over the next two years that more than 200 loans acquired from Taylor Bean were bogus, non-performing or lacked critical components such as mortgage insurance.  That might have been the end of Taylor Bean and its chairman and principal owner, Lee Farkas. He was sentenced today in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, to 30 years in prison for orchestrating what prosecutors call one of the “largest bank fraud schemes in this country’s history.”  Instead, it was just the beginning.  Fannie Mae officials never reported [....]

..The First Car to 3 Million Miles?

One man's Volvo P1800 is still breaking records.

Jun 27, 2011
Modern cars can do over 100,000 miles without pausing for breath. If you really pile on the miles, you might have 200,000 or even 300,000 miles on the clock. If the car Gods are really shining on you, you might have managed more than half a million.  Prepare to feel insignificant. Greenspan: 'There is No Evidence' Fed Tactics Have Helped Economy
Friday, 01 Jul 2011
By Forrest Jones
The Federal Reserve's recent quantitative easing program, a $600 billion bond buyback program designed to stimulate the economy and the latest in a series of similar assets purchases, really didn't help the economy that much, says former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan.  Easing did weaken the dollar somewhat, which was good for U.S. exports.  "There is no evidence that huge inflow of money into the system basically worked," Greenspan tells CNBC.  "It obviously had some effect on the exchange rate and the exchange rate was a critical issue in export expansion."   "Aside from that, I am ill-aware of anything that really worked. Not only QE2 but QE1."  QE2 is the popular abbreviation for the $600 billion bond buyback program, while QE1, the first round easing, involved [....]

Fun Facts--Alcohol Trivia

1.President Lyndon B. Johnson's favorite drink may have been scotch and soda. He would ride around his Texas ranch in an open convertible in hot weather. He drank his "scotch and soda out of a large white plastic foam cup. Periodically, Johnson would slow down and hold his left arm outside the car, shaking the cup and ice. A Secret Service agent would run up to the car, take the cup and go back to the station wagon (following the President's car). There another agent would refill it with ice, scotch, and soda as the first agent trotted behind the wagon. then the first agent would run the refilled cup up to LBJ's outstretched hand, as the President's car moved slowly forward." 60

"Clown Prince" Weekly Blather; July 2nd

A Patriotic Response To The "Clown Prince;" 07/02/2011
Saturday, July 2, 2011

barackingham Palace,
Washington,
District of Corruption
Right now, there are a lot of folks who are still struggling with the effects of the recession. They’re wondering how they’d deal with an unexpected expense if their car breaks down. They’re worried about layoffs. They’re not sure if they can help their kids pay for college. And for many families, these challenges were around long before the recession hit in 2007.  I ran for President because I believed in an America where ordinary folks could get ahead; where if you worked hard, you could have a better life. That’s been my focus since I came into office, and that has to be our focus now. It’s one of the reasons why we’re working to reduce our nation’s deficit. Government has to start living within its means, just like families do. We have to cut the spending we can’t afford so we can put the economy on sounder footing, and give our businesses the confidence they need to grow and create jobs.
[What I'm not telling you:  Most political pundents are writing articles about this supposed 'recession' is actually a duplication of the FDR Depression.  They're rightly calling this economic kerfuffle the owe-bama Depression!  Soros and Jarrett have almost exactly duplicated all the mis-steps of the second Roosevelt (Franklin, as opposed to Theodore) administration's dealings with the 1929 stockmarket crash and resulting depression.  The SJo regime aggressively attempted to solve the owe-bama Depression the same way FDR's depression ended: a world war!  The SJo regime dreamed up some charges against Muammar Gaddafi--the Libyan dictator--then attacked the country after cajoling the United Nations into demanding that something be done.  The American citizen definitely was not behind this military action the way they supported the World War II actions and victories!
The citizens are rightfully concerned about jobs, immediate-unexpected expenses, daily living expenses, various monthly payments, in this down economy.  President (Franklin) Roosevelt had far more experience than I'll ever have; the population was correct in agreeing with, and following his experimental actions.  Those who followed my last "Campaign of Fluff" were 'snowed' into believing that my mindless blathering at fundraisers and public events was indicative of postive public experience; of workable solutions to the major economic kerfuffles facing the country at my 'selection for election.'  Not So!!   How much experience can one display with but 142 days of federal experience, during which the most prevalent vote was 'Present?!?'
How ironic is it that some owe-bamacRATs and 'KoolAid Drinkers' still believe that my objective was improving the lot of the American citizen; all the while, Soros and Jarrett have set about destroying the country as you know it!   It's blatantly obvious that the sum total of the SJo regime's actions have done nothing to enhance the citizens' lot-in-life; have done everything to destroy the domestic economy, the domestic jobs market, the government's ability to borrow, America's standing in the international commerce markets as well as America's standing in the international diplomatic community!
I'm finding it difficult to understand how many owe-bamacRATs still believe my blatherings about running for president because  "....I believed in an America where ordinary folks could get ahead....; ....been my focus since I came into office...."  How can any sane person believe that bullshit?!?  Soros, Jarrett and i have done everything short of declaring The United States a dictatorship and instituting the Hitler-esque policies of Hugo Chavez, Kim Jong Il, et al!!  If there were really any concern by the SJo regime with respect to the ongoing, increasing deficit spending.... why would we continue this spending spree that certainly hasn't put the economy on a recovery track?!? A two-word answer:  Political Pay-offs!!  The regime felt obligated to compensate our supporters as well as legal and illegal financial contributors to the "Campaign of Fluff!"]
The good news is, Democrats and Republicans agree on the need to solve the problem. And over the last few weeks, the Vice President and I have gotten both parties to identify more than $1 trillion in spending cuts. That’s trillion with a ‘t.’ But after a decade in which Washington ran up the country’s credit card, we’ve got to find more savings to get out of the red. That means looking at every program and tax break in the budget – every single one – to find places to cut waste and save money. It means we’ll have to make tough decisions and scale back worthy programs. And nothing can be off limits, including spending in the tax code, particularly the loopholes that benefit very few individuals and corporations.  Now, it would be nice if we could keep every tax break, but we can’t afford them. Because if we choose to keep those tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires, or for hedge fund managers and corporate jet owners, or for oil and gas companies pulling in huge profits without our help – then we’ll have to make even deeper cuts somewhere else. We’ve got to say to a student, ‘You don’t get a college scholarship.’ We have to say to a medical researcher, ‘You can’t do that cancer research.’ We might have to tell seniors, ‘You have to pay more for Medicare.’  That isn’t right, and it isn’t smart. We’ve got to cut the deficit, but we can do that while making investments in education, research, and technology that actually create jobs. We can live within our means while still investing in our future. That’s what we have to do. And I’m confident that the Democrats and Republicans in Congress can find a way to give some ground, make some hard choices, and put their shoulders to wheel to get this done for the sake of our country.
[What I'm not telling you:  The vast majority of those "trillions with-a-'t'" spending cuts that 'plug' biden and i agreed to are so far into the  future as to not have a positive effect on current spending!  How cleaver was that?!? We'll still tout them as spending cuts!!  The "Washington" that ran up the country's "credit card" has no resembelance to the SJo regime, either in personnel or financial totals and mis-steps.  The deficit spending has seen a dramatic increase since my selection-for-election; deficit spending that could have had a positive effect on the economy were it not for the political pay-offs we made!  We have 'TurboTax-Tim' Geithner  to thank for that "....spending in the tax code...." phrase!!  What a cleaver way to disguise legitimate deductions written into the current IRS tax code!!  Using this phraseology, we can count any deductions we remove from the code as 'spending cuts;' again, how cleaver is that?!?
As we've pointed out to both Soros and Jarrett, time and again:  blathering on about the tax breaks enjoyed by 'millionaires-and-billionaires, hedge-fund managers, corporate jet owners, oil-and-gas companies, et al,' does little more than turn ever larger numbers of owe-bamacRATs against the SJo regime!!   Those evil millionaires-and-billionaires' expenditures in job creation far outweigh the treasury receipts gained by unfairly taxing them;  those evil hedge-fund managers provide an important service in stabilizing segments of the financial community as well as making tidy profits by actually providing said service; those evil oil-and-gas companies have profit margins in line with other in their sector-the numbers are deceiving due to their vast holdings, but the ratios are not out of line with other industries; those evil corporate jet owners use their aircraft as an additional income stream-as opposed to the recipients of the best-largest-and-greatest 'corporate jet' on the planet-Air Force One: the SJo regime members, including myself-"Clown Prince" owe-bama and my lovely wife, the hippy-the veggie queen!!
The single best method of fairly cutting the ongoing budget growth is to forego baseline budgeting in favor of zero-based bugeting.  In baseline budgeting, it is expected the base amounts (last year's figures by category) will be approved; the only negotiations involve additions to  the approved figures.  In zero-based budgeting each department, each category, starts at zero without regard to the previous year's expenditures.  Deficit spending reductions should be an equitable percentage reduction in spending in each-and-every budget category, be they discretionary or non-discretionary.]
On Monday, we celebrate Independence Day, the day we declared a new nation, based on revolutionary idea: that people ought to determine their own destiny; that freedom and self-governance weren’t gifts handed to us by kings or emperors, but the rights of every human being. We’ve learned in the years since that democracy isn’t always pretty. We have arguments. We disagree. But time and again we’ve proven that we could come together to solve problems. We remember that while we may not see eye-to-eye on everything, we share a love for this country and a faith in its future. That’s the spirit we need to harness now. That’s how we’ll meet this challenge and reach a brighter day.
[What I'm not telling you:  Does anyone but me see the irony here?!?  I mention "Independence Day, the day we declared a new nation" when every action Soros, Jarrett or I have taken has been with the ultimate objective of the very destruction of said independence the serf class enjoys today!!  That being said, as you enjoy what few freedoms left, be mindful that destruction of those is in the offing!!]

This'n'That; July First #1; owe-bama Lies

"Clown Prince" Caught Yet AGAIN!!
As is his norm, "Clown Prince" owe-bama continues to take vast 'liberties with the truth!'  This time a 'national pamphleteer' is taking him to task, not that it will make any inroads toward a more truthful blather experience!  Yesterday "The Daily Caller" published an expose' of sorts, revealing the blatant lies that have become a major plank in the "Tour d'Lies" campaign.  Just some of the more blatant untruths and obfuscations from the "Tour d'Lies" teleprompter:
  • "Clown Prince" owe-bama, while mentioning 'corporate jets' six times during his blather, falsely claimed that the opposition wanted to sacrifice your kids' safety so that corporate jet owners could keep a tax break.  What he didn't tell us is: deleting that tax break will net .15% (that's point-one-five of one percent!) of republicRAT proposed spending cuts!!  This tax break was actually reauthorized in "Clownie's" PORKulus bill!  "Clown Prince" owe-bama is 'cherry-picking' items in the tax code to create another level of the class warfare his campaign depends upon.
  • "Clown Prince" owe-bama falsely claimed the unprecedented action of researching every department's past, present and future regulations to weed out the unnecessary, the unworkable.  This action has been undertaken by every American ruler since--and including--Jimmuh Cahtah (Jimmy Carter).
  • "Clown Prince" owe-bama falsely claimed: "Every single observer who is not an elected official, who is not a politician, says we can not reduce our deficit in the scale and scope we need to without having a balanced approach that looks at everything. ('balanced approach'=tax increases!)"  One observer--namely Ben Bernanke--disagrees:  During congressional hearings, when asked if the deficit could be attacked with only spending cuts, Bernanke's answer was "of course."
  • "Clown Prince" owe-bama falsely claimed by innuendo: Congress is holding up free trade agreements with South Korea, Columbia and Panama. Another blatant lie!!  These pending agreements are not the product of "Clown Prince" owe-bama, his minions or his 'shadow cabinet' of czars; they were originally negotiated by President George W. Bush-43, in 2007.
  • "Clown Prince" owe-bama falsely claimed: "I think members of Congress need to understand we're going to have to start cancelling things and stay here until we get things done."  The deficit negotiations; the debt ceiling negotiations; rely on a very small number of legislators.  There's no need for all congressmen to stay in the District of Corruption.  "Clown Prince" owe-bama fails to mention his 75 trips to the golf course; fails to mention his ubiquitous fundraising trips aboard the ultimate 'corporate jet,' namely "Air Force One;" fails to mention his monthly 'vacations' aboard the ultimate 'corporate jet,' namely "Air Force One!!"
Was Mark Halperin (late of the 'Morning Joe' program on MSNBC) correct in opining that "Clown Prince" owe-bama is being a 'dick?!?'  I think that's a reasonably accurate assessment,  This slimy bastard; those who bought his election; those who manage him; have to go!!
Til Nex'Time....
