This'n'That; December Twentieth #1; Around The Web

Important Items From The [Conservative] Web
These folks are well-spoken so why should I re-write their articles? The first is from the dude or dudette who writes the Reaganite Republican blog:

A Dark Tale from Gun-Controlled Canada For 'Progressive' #Newtown Opportunists
Of course in the wake of the Newtown school-shooting massacre, we need to be "more like Canada," and obviously the Framers never envisioned today's powerful weapons, huge magazines, nor advanced weapons technology that make such gruesome crimes possible.... right, libs?!?
Got some bad news for you:  not only are strict Canadian guns laws actually starting to be rolled-back.... they certainly don't prevent crazy people from killing dozens of innocents if they're determined enough, and them crazy people can be very determined:.... [....]

....and this one from 'Bungalow Bill' on the subject of drugs as related to the 'Sandy Hook Shooter:'

Adam Lanza Was A Product Of Big Pharma's Psychotropic Drugs
Add Adam Lanza to the list of mentally ill gunmen who created great massacres under the influence of 'Big Pharma.'  We know Big Pharma's concoctions are more likely to make those who take these drugs more violent as one of the side effects.
So, what are we learning about Lanza?  He was indeed a product of  'Big Pharma's' psychotropic drugs.  Lanza has now been reported by mainstream media to indeed be taking the violence-linked anti-psychotic drug known as Fanapt.  While Fanape isn't on Time Magazine's top ten list of drugs most likely to make one violent, it is still known to have side effects like those in the top ten.
Fanapt has a very disturbing history of FDA testing and approval.  It also has a long line of side effects that echo reports that drugs of this nature ultimately lead to suicidal behavior and increased overall aggression.  But the way the system is set up, these side effects are often covered up by the deep pockets of Big Pharma.  Like other things we have seen denied over and over again by the FDA, like the dangerous sweetener aspartame (NutraSweet), which it took Donald Rumsfeld to pull the red tape to get it to market, Fanapt to failed FDA testing many times before someone finally pulled the red tape from the process.  The FDA from the testing [determined that] the drug created "severe problems" in the 500 people it tested including: [....]

Everyone except most federal, state, county, parish, local, politicians understand the principles of gun restrictions at their individual levels.  Said restrictions only hinder law-abiding citizens from gun-ownership while all miscreants--as well as most in obama's 'taker-class'--know they have a--more-or-less--free hand in their gun violence!!  These several contemplated knee-jerk reactions to the Sandy Hook Tragedy will have little affect beyond placating the socio-fascist obama followers!
It's not only the obamacRATics creating this atmosphere of 'Kissing Big Pharma's Ass,' the republicRATics have their hand in the process as well.  Normally, I'm one who rails against ANY government involvement in corporate or individual endeavors.  In this case--and all DRUG APPROVAL cases--I'm all for as much red-tape as it takes to insure adequate and thorough testing of said drugs.
Your comments?!?

This'n'That; November Nineteenth #1; First Amendment

obama Regime Attempts To Alter First Amendment
The First Amendment To The U.S. Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people to peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
The Hobby Lobby background as it relates to the obama Regime's fornication [Uncharacteristically, I'm being nice here. I really mean 'the fucking-up of the Founding Fathers' intended, interpreted meaning'] of the First Amendment:
Hobby Lobby co-CEOs David and Barbara Green--as Evangelicals--are opposed to obamaKare's mandate that employers provide--cost free--abortion-inducing drugs.  The Greens' have joined with Catholics and other faith-based businesses and organizations in court actions against such mandates.
The Regime's DoJ has been knocked on their collective asses--judicially speaking--by the Supreme Court in the court's several loose interpretations [one here] of the religious aspects of the First Amendment.  Said DoJ continually blathers forth that once an individual starts a 'secular' business, he or she must leave their religious convictions "at-the-door" when operating the business.  This bullshit has continually been the basis of their judicial 'ass-kicking!'  The regime's HSS Department has written a 'religious employer' exception so narrow that Catholic Charities will not qualify if it serves indigent non-Catholic individuals.
The Greens have no objections to contraception in general; but object to 'emergency contrtaceptives,' i.e., the morning-after and the week-after pills.  Said pills, which per the FDA, can prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg in the womb.  The Greens' collective consciences and evangelical religious views preclude them from offering the aforementioned pills in their health plan.  In their refusal, Hobby Lobby is subject to $1.3 Million PER DAY in fines!
This is the kind of socio-fascism the 'taker-class' recently voted for.  Is every pro-obama voter related to the "obama Fo" lady?!?
Your thoughts?!?

About CAFFEINE

Due to my diabetes, I subscribe to NUTRITION ACTION, a health newsletter published by The Center for Science in the Public Interest. In the March, 2008 issue, the lead article is intitled "CAFFEINE The Good, the Bad and the Maybe." Here is an article "Caffeine America" published as a sidebar to the main article: Caffeine America Up until ten years ago. the only foods with added caffeine were soft drinks. And the Food and Drug Administration limited the amount to 48 milligrams per eight ounces. That changed in 1997, when the first popular energy drink-an Austrian import called RED BULL-hit the U.S. Every 8-ounce can of the sweetened fortified water contains 80 mg of caffeine. "For whatever reasons, the FDA decided not to challenge RED BULL," says caffeine expert Roland Griffiths of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. "And that started the aggressive marketing of caffeine-containing food products." RED BULL's success attracted copycats. Drinks like ADRENALINE RUSH, NO FEAR, and ROCKSTAR PUNCHED pushed caffeine levels to 240 mg per 16 oz can. And with the FDA looking the other way, the drive to caffeinate has spilled over to candy bars, hot cereal, chewing gum, chips, jelly beans, mints, beer, and more. GOTTA HAVE IT Caffeine isn't just any food additive. "It's a pharmacological agent, a drug, and it leads to physical dependence in people who use it regularly," says Griffiths. After less than a week of consuming caffeine every day, most people will experience headache, fatigue, decreased alertness, and/or drowsiness if they stop. Caffeine is also different from other food additives because, like nicotine and amphetamines, it functions as a "drug reinforcer," says Griffiths. In other words, people are more likely to choose a food with caffeine over one that's caffeine-free. That hasn't been lost on food and beverage companies, notes Griffiths. "Caffeine increases the probability that the product will be bought and consumed. And it induces dependence and builds customer loyalty. That's probably the reason that 70 percent of soft drinks have added caffeine." PUSHING LABELING In 1997, we petitioned the FDA to require labels of foods with caffeine to list how much is in each serving. This January, the Fed said that the petition "is still active and pending and the Angency has not reached any decision yet." You can help push the federal tortoise along by signing and mailing this coupon. [also published is the coupon referred to:] To: FDA Dockets Management [HFA-305] -Docket No. 97P-0329 5630 Fishers Lane, Room 1061 Rockville, MD, 20852 From: ______________________ _______________________ _______________________ As a member of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, I urge you to act on the 1997 petition by CSPI and-as recommended by the American Medical Association-require labels of foods that contain significant amounts of caf- feine to disclose how much is in each serving.
